Muddy, that sounds very creative! post photos when you are done! Especially of the goldfish! :-)
Spring Plant Swap 2014 in Lucketts, VA
Quite an adventure, Muddy. Congratulations on your progress. Hope to see pictures as it progresses.
Holly, do you have any mayapple left? I was just reading it's something the bees like early in the spring when little else is available, and I've definitely had some hungry bees coming through!!
Hi everyone! After a frustrating winter, we're getting into a busy spring. Our oldest son, Bryan, is getting married to a great girl, Clara, on May 23 in Springfield, VA. We are pretty sure we can make the plant swap & expect to be there. If not, maybe Holly can take some plants. Thank you Terri for sponsering this year's plant swap. It's disappointing when we can't make it. I saw that someone has/wants yellow bleeding hearts. I have some, but I'm seeing that they have become invasive. They are taking over a thick vinca vine section. I'm getting rid of mine. If someone really wants them, I'll gladly give them to you. Has anyone else had this problem with them?
Catmint, I do have Mayapples, but crickethillct has a ton of them. One of us will bring them for you.
Donner, Could I have some Ornamental Pepper 'chili pyramid' thanks
thanks, Holly and Crick!
Does anyone have Bloodroot?
I remember someone asking about tiny sedum. My John Creech seems to have left a few tiny babies, like little rosettes, and I'm willing to send them to a good home! :-)
I also have sedums to share, but they're all buried under the Angelina right now. I'll know for sure once the majority of the Angelina gets dug up and replanted. It sure is a vigorous grower.
Greenthumb, I found 2 hosta stiletto.
When I was outside yardening today, I found some chelone galabra that had self seeded so I am adding those to my haves.
Holly, thanks.
I'd like some Bloodroot, if you have enough, Catmint!
Aspenhill, I'd love 6 of your 'Concord Grape' tradescantia if you have enough... btw, the ones I forgot about in my basement on Wed. were the tradescantia 'Little Doll' -- I've put 10 aside for you and will tuck them into a pot (multiple pots if necessary, but I think I'll see you sooner).
SSG, Could I please try some 'Angelina' again? I will overwinter some in a pot this year also in case it doesn't like the place I put it, so I don't have to keep asking you! Several of my semps have big enough "chicks" to share, so I'll bring you an assortment.
Donner, I'd love a pink & white Japanese anemone, please. And I'm really excited about your 'Empress Wu' babies... whether or not they look just like "mom," I hope they've got the gene for "big!" Please put me on the list for them.
Holly, I'd love some 'Sweet Cream' marigolds again, please... they are always so pretty in my railing planter, with whatever else ends up in there! If you have enough, I'd also like to try your Lamium 'Silver Beacon' and Helleborus (pink and/or white, depending on what you have readily available).
RosesR, could I please have a Cardinal Climber for the hummingbird feeder pole?
THANKS!
Got you covered Jill.
Critter, do you have a few more chicks to spare? I'd like to start adding sempervivums to my sedum obsession, err, collection.
Critter, have you down for the Tradescantia 'Concord Grape'
Terri (Aspenhill), may I request 2 Baptisia and 3 Tradescantia, please?
Holly, some perilla please
RRR 1 or 2 Cardinal Climbers please
Robin, got you down for the baptisia and tradescantia.
Jill, I could start an Angelina farm! I would love some hens and chicks. Thank you!
Would anyone like some Oenothera Fireworks?
I planted a bunch and I still have some left.
Coleup, got you down for raspberries.
I also have two noid astilbes. They were from Costco a couple of years ago. They're unhappy in a dry shade spot but I don't have any more room in the wet shade.
SSG, Oenothera for cost or for trade? I will trade you something for one if you want. I am trying to avoid exchanging cash at the swap, it's complicated enough to coordinate plants, if you know what I mean!
I'm just giving away my extras from the group buy. -- monarda Jacob Cline, helianthus lemon queen, and the oenothera fireworks. If MAFers don't want them I'll give them to coworkers. Too complicated for me otherwise.

Typ would you like a couple of my oenothera firework plugs? Free to a good home. :-)
A coworker just took 3 oenothera, 1 helianthus lemon queen, and 2 monarda Jacob Cline. She looked so happy! Nice feeling. :-)
I'm paying for the plugs that I requested during the initial purchase period but these sundrops are free to a good home.
Okay great! I'm not trying to be a cheapo but I really don't want anyone's feelings to be hurt by any miscommunications.
You guys can fight over who gets to give me the oenothera fireworks. I'll take one or 2. ;) Please let me know what I can give you in return!
LOL Typ! I think you should take SSG's since she offered first and since I'm hoping to find plant homes at work.
Do you have any ajuga that needs dividing? That black one is great.
If not, I think I'm all set!
Ajuga you will have, SSG! :) Thanks!
typwc, I'll keep you in mind for chicks! Most of my semps are young & haven't really taken off, but I can manage a couple at least. :-)
SSG, I'll be sure to plant the 'Angelina' in its own area so it doesn't overrun other sedums. Thanks!!
Finally some good gardening weather and plants actually emerging! In addition to the chelone glabra that I found seedlings of on Saturday, I also have phlox paniculata 'Katherine', Stachys 'Hummelo', and phlox divaricata that I can offer up. Will see what else has multiplied for sharing as the next few weeks unfold...
Terri, I would like to have some phlox divaricata if there is still enough to go around. Thank you.
Well my monarda, helianthus, and oenothera plugs all got snapped up by my coworkers. I didn't get the idea there was a lot of interest in it among forum members; they are probably plants a lot of us have already so I'm glad they found homes-- and it was so nice to see the looks of delight on my coworkers' faces! :-)
Donner, got you down for the phlox divaricata.
Terri,
I'm interested in your phlox paniculata and divaricata. Could you put me on the bottom of your list if there is enough.
P
Paul - sure!
Talking about Phlox----I see in 2 places where the Red Phlox I got last year
(the BIG freebee grab) are sending up new growth. Puny--but it seems to be there!!!
How exciting! They all died off last year--and i was sure that was IT!
I bought 2 new pots of the red Phlox. Waiting to plant them...
Are these Phlox??? Can anyone ID for sure?
One seems to have red foliage...the other green..
G.
Here are photos of the plants I have available as of now. As things germinate I will likely have more. These are whole plants that I have extras of (no dividing entailed).
1) a ton of Lily of the Valley growing and getting ready to unfurl soon
2) An offshoot of my sedum John Creech; this happened when I moved the John Creech but apparently accidentally left some behind, and it grew!
3) Coral Reef Monarda (I have two whole plants now so am happy to re-home if someone else is interested)
4) Lemon balm (again, I have two whole plants so happy to re-home one)
