I have two goodies up for adoption. Worm factory and can-o-worms. A description of can o worms is below, worm factory is the same thing just square. I believe these run at $80+. If you're interested let me know and I will bring them to the swap otherwise they are bound for the same fate that I tried to rescue them from, garbage.
Spoken for by Coleup. I knew it was worthwhile to hump them back the other night. Dog leash on one side, Can-O-Worms on the other. Ahahaha

Spring Plant Swap 2014 in Lucketts, VA
I would think this has greenthumb's name on it, but I could be mistaken.
Donner, could I have some of your Geum? 1 plant is plenty. I can bring a few baby coleus, what colors are you still looking for?
Greenthumb would have been delighted to have one, Happy, but when I told him about it this morning, it was too late. Glad they got salvaged rather than go in the trash.
Agreed -- always nice when something can find a good home!
Maybe Coleup could share the loot?
Eeeewwww.
She called them first, so not a problem. I'm sure they will be put to good use.
what about the butterfly plants?
The asters and the goldenrods (monarch nectar plants) were part of the shipment we divvied up yesterday, SOS. The milkweeds (monarch host plants) will be available in a few weeks in May. Discussion of them is on the Milkweed for Monarchs thread. I think the plan is to have some Monarch Waystation plant kits (combination of nectar and host plants) available at the spring plant swap.
Aspenhill---
I just took cuttings today from 3 different "Angel Wing" Begonias.
They are now rooting in water.
I have mine, of course,--the big Cane AW Begonia--already rooted. Not "growing" yet.
Buttoneer--
I have one, very different, blue MG. It is called "Piconee".
The leaves are beautiful--and it is better behaved as far as climbing.
The blooms are edged in white. May also have some pink ones mixed in.
I have 6 potted up from seedling trays growing--but will keep at least 2 or 3.
I DO have plenty of seeds from this, though. Still time to germinate....
I also still have 4 (?) of the "Green Fountain" Hostas, I had them last year--remember?
And--of course--I still owe you 3 AV's.
Here is a picture of the MG: Gita
Does anyone want a preformed garden pond? I've had it for a few years so I'm not positive, but I'm 99% sure that it's this one: http://www.maccourt.com/products/ponds/lp7718.html
It is the same length, width, depth and shape.
I'm getting rid of it because I had to dig a deeper pond (now lined with Goodyear pond liner) to accommodate 2 huge goldfish I am fostering. The water in the pond I'm offering is only 16-17" deep, which is too shallow for these fish.
Holly--
I would like to have some Dragon Wing Begonias from you....please
Also--I would like to try the white marigolds....
As weird as it seems--I CANNOT grow Marigolds!!! Don't know why???
Donner--I will have plenty of Coleus as well...
If I remember correctly--The "Speckled all Over" Sally was talking about--
I think that was called "Carnival"
Will tag my biggest division of the Astilbe for you. It is reddish/pinkish...common...
Giving Paul the others for the Memorial Garden.
Sally--If this is the one--it is named "Carnival" (nothing 100% official)
--Asclepias currasavica (Tropical Milkweed) happy, ric
Hey, Coleup, can you put me down for a couple A. currasavica as well? thanks!
Sally, can I have some of your rosemary? Mine did not survive the winter! :-(
Happy, will you have any of the geranium espresso available to share? I loved the foliage on it!
Donner, can I have some of your Foxglove seeds?
Muddy, I would take that pond if no one else claims it. Can you bring it to the swap???
Gita, I have you covered.
I'm looking for rosemary, sage, and oregano.
My raspberries are popping up everywhere! Does anyone want small raspberry plants? They're everbearing and stay fairly short, under 3 feet.
Aspenhill, I forgot to get 2 baptisia's from you! Can I still buy them at the swap?
Holly, we would love to re-home one of the blue irises. Thanks!
What kind of raspberries are they, SSG?
Got you down for foxgloves, Cat.
thanks, Donner!
Catmint -- of course you can have as many Espresso as you like. But I haven't been keeping track of things yet, so you may need to remind me. I can try to drop them off at your house when I am next out your way.
thanks, Happy!
Catmint, all I know is that they're everbearing and rather short, but no cultivar name.
They were purchased at HD a few years ago.
Could I try some, SSG? thanks!
Got you down for raspberries!
thanks SSG! :-)
ecnalg, Got you.
Holly! A pond for Ric's mini ducks! Go for it!! Unless... Muddy, is there another place you could sink it for use as a bog garden or for moist-loving plants like ferns, astilbe, all those things we love that don't love "dry shade?"
LOL Critter, I already tossed my hat in that ring. Unless someone without 4 other ponds would like it. LOL
Does anyone have any nasturtium?
Roses, could I have some of your lisanthus? 1 each of pink, yellow, red, and apricot?
SS--
From what I know--nasturtiums like to be direct-sowed in the place they are to grow.
After soaking the seeds. G.
Oh, that was probably my mistake. I didn't soak the seeds first and had zero germination.
Well--soaking lets you plant ONLY those seeds that DID germinate.
That may help.....G.
Link to available shares for plants on order with North Creek available by Swap time. Here is a chance to speak up for a share of
Fern Assortment second half - 3 each of 6 ferns'
Viola 'Silver Gem' in the /32/ and /72/ size
Geranium 'Expresso' /50/
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1351618/
SSG some raspberries would be great
Got you down for raspberries.
The pond found a home right away; Ecnalg and Greenthumb wanted it.
Today, my youngest daughter and I got the new pond ready for my foster goldfish. I got very wet while building a rock hide-away for the fish and plant platforms, then sinking water lily pots into it, but it was fun! I'm so glad we didn't dig 3 feet down like we initially planned; I don't know how I would have positioned those pots without going for a swim!
I still have hardscaping to do, which will require a half-pallet of wall stones, but first, I'm doing the fun part - landscaping - which will include a boggy area for Chelone glabra and other moist-soil lovers.
