Well our genius of a weatherman actually announced today that we are getting "real" snow. " Now this is NOT lake effect snow folks, it's the real thing". I suppose this means we have to put away the lake effect snow blower and get out the real one. Sure makes you wonder sometimes just where did they dig these people up. I'm guessing what we have now is just a foot of "lake effect" snow so we can just ignore it.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?Chat with friends new&old
Lake effect snow is the 'common buzz' here when we get
squalls' etc, but, when the snow starts coming in from the WEST .. best get out the BIG BOY snowblower .. did just that a few days ago, but, back in the deep freeze again for the next few days.
Betty will be gettong LOTS of snow, so, her boyz will be happy ..
Making my FINAL list, would like to launch outta here by 8:15am and go for breakfast.
Lorna is going out on her own .. worries me, but, I have to let it go ..
Stay warm everyone

After almost no sleep night before last I slept about twelve hours last night after managing to stay awake all day and I'm feeling almost human again.
Yesterday I looked at a '94 Chevy suburban that a neighbor has for sale. It's in pretty good shape cosmetically and it's bright red which would be nice for Santa. Haven't driven it yet. Will get Tony to help me check out the mechanics and hope it good inside,
Still getting ready for Christmas at a nice slow pace. Wrapped some of the gifts for Tony's family yesterday. Found three boxes of Christmas stuff so I have more animals todecorate and decorations to bag so we can give them to the older kids. Last year I got a huge box of Christmas decorations for very little money on eBay. As I found them again this year I am remembering that when I got them last year I took a bag of them to my doctor. I like to take him presents of the thrift shop variety so he knows I'm thining of him but not squandering money on him. I assurred him that the ornaments had not cost me much. Reassured, he thanked me and said he would share them with the staff. A double present.
It's amazing what a good night's sleep will do for one's mood.
Betty, not sure I was clear in what I said yesterday re: Sharon. What I meant was that if you argue about not changing your plans - even though I agree with you completely - it will make the focus on your plans vs. Sharon's plans rather than keeping it on what is best for Jim, which is a small gathering. Hope you have checked with his medical team to get support for this and are able to side step a confict with Sharon. Both of you have enough problems to deal with now. Your situation does remind me, painfully, of my own family and my heart and prayers go out to you at this difficult time.
A lot of why I do my Santa thing is to give myself some good Christmas memories. I am now able to look forward to Christmas and to enjoy myself visiting the local kids. Dana took me up to see the neighbor's who have the van for sale and Dana mentioned my Santa gig. They assurred us they were aware of it. The corner by their house is one of my stops and while I have never seen them on Christmas, they have seen me and the swarm of kids who arrive when I drive up. It's nice to have a quiet, pleasant Christmas without all the hype and unrealistic expectations that seem to have overcome so much of the Christian world. Lots of the kids here want to get a hug from Santa. I remember a boy of about nine who came up to hug me. I thought he's probably getting too old to want hugs from relatives but he sure wanted one from Santa.
Well, back to my workshop.
Susan, I'm especially thinnking of you and wishing you the best. It's an especially hard time to be unemployed. Hope someone wakes up and grabs you soon.
hugs, katie
Thing is M where we are situated ALL our snow is across the lake which is to the west of us. It has snowed every day for almost 2 weeks now. We make a joke now. we have lake effect rain and lake effect wind, some days we even get lake effect sun. My point being. I don't care where the damned stuff comes from, I hate it, and want more than anything to move away from here.
My Santa Warren pressie arrived yesterday!!
Thank you Thunder!!!
Spent themorning taking some photos.
Lol, put my Christmas Kitchen Angel that Thunder made, up right away.,just lovely.
Then a sweet Hello Kitty tumbler with hot chocolate and marshmellows, yummy I will enjoy this after run arounds. To decorate a three pack of window spinners, and in the box i show you next post, but I put the harley davidson keychain in it to show...mmm,mmm good cookie mix and two glass ornament bulbs, one filled with cookie sprinkles, so smiling at the cleverness. And, awe so sweet to think of Petrie! She seems too be a little fraidybird...but we will put it where she can discover it.
Wonderful gifts from Thunder.
Great job Thunder!!! Wonderful presents for Judy. She will enjoy all of it I'm sure....
Judy, you got some lovely gifts from Thunder. Never ceases to amaze me how wonderful our Santa Warren packages are ..
Barb also sent me a New Hampshire keychain, and, it is fast becoming quite the conversation piece when I am out and about.
It makes a very soothing (at least to me) jingly kind of sound .. kind of reassuring in a way ^_^
Sharing the 2013 school pics of my 2 grandkids .. Austin (12) and Brooklyn (15) .. such great kids .. I will be 'babysitting' them in Jan while my son and his wife go south for a break .. haven't babysat 2 kids and 3 dogs in a long time .. I'm moving into their home so as to make it easier. Fingers crossed on that being a good idea .. our home is only 25 minutes away .
Fish for supper .. (I can hear some groans) LoL
Keeping Betty in my thoughts that's for sure, and Crissy,Mary Debbie ... well .. ALL of you
Hugs all around
~M~
Beautiful Grandkids
They surely are beautiful "M". I think it would be easier for you to be there at their home as well. I only have room here for one at a time on an inflatable mattress!!! That leaves just enough room for the cat....
And I'm so glad you like the key chain. When I saw it all I thought was that it showed a so many bits of NH...... I didn't think about its "jingle" at all. LOL
Evening all
Busy day with closing up shop for a few weeks
Weather co operated but if anyone watches weather for Debbie, I and Dianne's region you will see two weather fronts coming in starting tomorrow..LindaKay is sending it our way..temps will be the factor, either snow or freezing rain.
Jim had a not so good day, changes in prescriptions
I had a message last night on recorder that I was to phone RVH in Barrie (hospital)
She said seeing there was some urgency they would get me in on January 8th at 8am..told her no urgency on my part. Lol
Am suppose to travel to Orangeville tomorrow so Sharon can go shopping, won't go thought if chances of freezing rain.
I'm already propped up in bed, drats I'm sore tonight
Didn't do anything hard today, sat I'd did some bindings on 3 candle pieces and one Christmas throw, moved around to change the aches and pains so not sure why I'm having a time of it
Did drop into MEC which is a sporting store, managed to get jackets, paints and a lamp that goes on the head, took but minutes and almost $600
But I'm done now
Want to respond to all your posts but meds are taking effect, i keep nodding off so will talk about your day one I nap
hugs for Betty ♥♥♥♥♥
Get some rest Betty.
Morning,
Judy enjoying looking at all your pressies..love the angel..from what was sent you can see how Thunder knows what makes you smile.
"M" , beautiful photo, adorable grandkids..not as brave as you, I'd rather have the kids in my home..long time to be away from yours.
Katie, sounds as though you've got Santa presents all covered for everyone..you are such a generous person. As for Sharon I spoke briefly to her last night..she emailed my kids asking them to go Christmas day..told her Melanie thanked her, as I do Mel said she thought big crowds were not what Jim needed right now but would drop in over the holidays..much like you suggested Katie.
Marion, much the same news as I got the other day..furnace is aged, just like its owner, had hoped it would outlast me but doubtful..you are staying home for Christmas right, 1st time in many..guess with all the kitties your sister likely would not be able to travel north to be with you.
Thunder, when does Kyle get his grades back, nice when they don't fret over tests..some can pass with ease but fear of 'exams' do them in...are you experiencing colder temps this year?
Omg Judy, no wonder you were fretting, not the best idea taking your baby out shopping even if it is for toys. How did you make out crafting yesterday, anxious to see all your projects. Did you cut out more snowmen?
Ohhh what weather all around this region, still trying to decide if I shall go today and put in a shift..trying to decide..next 3 days are calling for much the same..drats wondering if today would be the better day..guess I should call Sharon and get her thoughts
Layed down last night and just got up, must have needed the rest!
Good morning. Coffee is needed here. I had a restless night for some reason. But today is going to be great anyway! The temps are going up to around 40* and I get to go out of the house!!! Norm has taken the day off and he is going to take me shopping. First time out in almost three weeks!
I'm glad to hear you got the rest Betty. Your body knows what it needs.
Melanie handled the Christmas dilemma just fine. And she is right about not having crowds with Jim. I know how you and your children feel about Mom but how are they about Jim? You love him - do they? Going for a visit over the holiday season is the way to go. I'm saying prayers for him and all you family every day.
I must go get in shower so I can go when Norm is ready....Have a great day all.
Morning all ^_^
A cold northerm morning, with a most beaudacious sunrise !!
Betty .. glad you got the sleep, it is such an imprtant compnent to help us feel well. Unfortunately, I speak with 'forked tongue, as I have NOT been sleeping well at all for the last while ..
I seem to sleep 3 hours, waken, and, POOF, stay awake !! Very frustrating .. thing is, my mind will NOT 'shut off' .. I put it down to the 'time of the year'. So much happening.
Sorted through the gifts yesterday .. now i feel I haven't gotten 'the kids' enough :-(
DH keeps reminding me that they are getting not just gifts, but money as well .. I WORRY too much !!
Off to the Reserve to get gas in my vehicle this morning, then off the the gym and a swim ..
Have told Lorna that come next week our time at the gym will be sporadic .. I feel bad, but, I just can't 'DO IT ALL' .. OMG! did I say that LoL
Anyway, the gym is closed the 25th, and I have the Mrs Santa thing the 24th and a family get together here the 23rd and 25th.
All this on little sleep !!!
Wah wah wah .. Christmas comes but ONCE a year ..
Have a safe, warm and happy day ladies

Yikes in the middle of posting and poof disappeared as I was typing!??!
Anyways good morning!
Be back in a few...
I'm back. So I was saying, Sk/Petrie...discovered her play toy from Thunder!! she seems to love to chew on ropes and strings, so she had fun with this.
the second is me,lol, not so much i want you to look at me, but see what I am wearing? A gorgeous Angel wings sent as an instant Armwrap anytime I need one, it was in the little box with the HD key chain...Probably the most powerful of gifts Thunder sent. Instantly, upon putting it on, I felt comfort and so smiling because Thunder is wearing the other half of the wings! Big tight armwraps right back at you...I haven't taken it off since i put it on, well then not to mention, we got to chat for a whille...Thank you again Thunder, love you to pieces.
the third is just a fun picture of Petrie trying to get a piece of my Armwrap.

Morning everyone! Betty are you talking about going to work? I thought you said your work was closed for the holidays?
Seems like we are all running like mad these last few days. Please be careful on the nasty roads.
Judy, love to see that smile on your face! Love that necklace too!
Hiya Linda kay, How are you? What you up to??
No, i think Betty was going to spend time at Sharons.
Yes to All be so very careful on the roads and in everywhere.
My Sabrina, went last night to pick up Julia, they then went to Michaels shopping, well...
Just as Sabrina was getting out of her car, some young guy in a giant hurry swung into the parking spot next to her and literally ran into her door, breaking it so dad had to come and get the door to at least close.
Thank God, she wasnt hurt. She is one PO'ed little girl. Her first car which she paid for all by her self, destroyed by some ones rush!!
Wahhhh, Betty! LOL, had to put my snowman on hold for a few, so i could work on that other item, you know which one...Ran into a snafu!! So scratching my head and trying to figure out where i went wrong, but i think i did so back at it, must finish today!...Well, got to tell you my friend, i cannot do even simple eyes on a snow man....pouting, crying and laughing all at the same time, as had liz in hysterical laughter over how I seem to have the snow burglar, so ill post a picture and maybe you can help me save it!!
I so glad you got a good rest last night...I have already spent quite a bit of money on gifts and never even left the house, lol...Got to love going in on big money gifts!! Jake, taken care of...went in with DH and Breenie. Now to get the rest of the shopping done.
OHHHH, my gosh, feel real bad about the work place, The store is really, really bad shape, I guess another person just up and Quit!! No notice...yikes, just don't know about that place...yikers that leaves only 9 people running the show, you would think the upper management would get a clue! Anyways, Breenie has been working insanely trying to get this part time position as the pt supervisor, she has been for over a year, they keep putting her off...Well they better have some decision 'cause my girl is pretty much at the end of her patients and understanding on the situation, supposedly, today is to be the interview, which was suppose to be this past Wednesday, just crazy.
So we shall see, part of me wants her to get it and part of me just wants her out of that store!!
Also in my first post, i was saying...
Katie, I just love this time of year for you. It is just so thrilling and Heartwarming that you not only are making yourself happy memories, but creating such a Beautiful Christmas memories for all the Children in your area!! Just love the story of the "older" boy getting a hug from Santa!! Brings tears of joys, for you and he. God Bless you for taking the time.
oops got to run Jake to train...Be back later.
Yep, was going to spend today and then Sunday at Sharon's
storm is brewing all over the region so I'm home still in jammies
Jim had a terrible night, Sharon said that even had the weather been good for travelling she'd not be able to leave the house..they are coming with air today..she mentioned a few times to the nurses that when time comes near she'd want him in palative care NOT so much him passing in her bed..she'd have trouble with that..they asked if she wanted hospital bed delivered to make it easier for Jim..I think if he makes Christmas at her house it's palative care for him..he's ok with that, know his time is short.
1. this week's sewing..already gave one candle away, these just got boxed and wrapped
2.Caleb and Braedon's xmas pressies
3. need to find a double frame for jim's present..original document is being mailed
but need to give him the gift so printed it off
4. where his star is
OMG Judy, present IS no harm coming to Sabrina..love your Angel wing..you earned it girl!
snowman can wait..more important things on your agenda..after all, snowman is winter not Christmas right...
Barb, enjoy your time out
glad weather is co-operating
LindaKay, you feeling any better
"M" you are one going concern..gives me hope re hip operation
Yes, Betty we will be home for Christmas for the first time in 4 years......does seem so odd and has been giving me sleepless nights. The reality dawned on me that for the first time since I was born, I won't be seeing my mom during the holidays. I still have terrible spells thinking of Ross this time of year as he so enjoyed Christmas. Life must go on.
A hospital bed might be a wise idea for Jim...especially the type with the floating mattresses. Does keep from having sore pressure points. Don't know what we would have done without one for mom.
Sending all a huge hug and best wishes. Please stay warm and be safe.
Katie, I read with awe all the good works you do for the children in your area. A true Santa Claus if ever there were on.
Congrat Barb...get out of the house. Enjoy!!!
Storming here, wish I was visiting with you Marion..
Yep, will be 22 years that Roger died New Years Day
As raw as if it were yesterday, of course dealing with similar this year makes it all the worse but we challenge on.
Sending hugs for you and Kim..how is she doing since her all?
Still in Jammie's, called for hair appt..not far, only a few block and she am fit me in at 4:00
Our staff Xmas supper is tonight , hate to disappoint Paul but will try to make an effort even if it's only for an hour or so
Sounds like everyone is busy. I am almost done with a twister Christmas tree for my DIL. Need to get the floors mopped and dusting done. Andy and family will be here Monday.
I was feeling good for a few days but my sinuses are acting up ags in. Hot showers help.
Not unlike a few of you .. I wrote a HUGE post .. and .. POOF ..
HUGS to all
~M~
I hate it when that happens. kb
Can you share photo of your twister quilt Lindakay?
How long will the family be with you?
Drats, been long long posts as well input mostly due to my iPad being so touchy
What is the watcher like in your neck of the woods Katie?
Still sowing
Rita is packing her bags, she flies to fort Myers Sunday morning 6am but due to weather she got hotel for tomorrow so she can pamper herself before flying south...
Guess I've accepted that I'm not going, it is what it is
Should be getting ready to go to our staff function ...got hair done and cut but just know the minute I get into tub that is the end of it, will be Betty byes for me..
Wonder what Debbie got up to, she has been Mia as well
Keep hoping Shirley will post, took out my Santa Warren gift from 1st year and it was something our beloved Tubby made, brought a tear to my eyes
Then our Bev..Christmas makes me lonesome for missing friends
It is just about done, working on the border. I will post pictures in the morning.
Got out for about four hours and it was heaven. I felt like a little kid out at recess!
Got to do some shopping and then had a nice lunch at the 99. Did some more shopping and then home. Exhausted isn't the work for how I am now but it will pass. It never ceases to amaze me how necessary it is to breathe!!! LOL
Looking forward to it LindaKay..
Barb, although tired glad you enjoyed your day
Been sitting off/on and painting came on a stained glass piece..few touch ups and ready to put the wax on
Sharon said the doctor was there, Jim is on oxygen..he advised her it was time for hospice but she is trying her best so that Jim is not in hospice for Christmas day..she didn't tell mom yet.
That smile is a gift from God to be sure!!!!! Just so sweet.
I understand Sharon trying to put off hospice until after Wednesday but is that good for Jim? Does he need it now? Hope it turns out okay.... Keeping you all in my prayers for peace and understanding....
Morning all
Ahhh that smile just made me smile..
Will the family be with you this Christmas or can you and hubby get away?
Up early, was going to try to drive to Orangeville but Sharon called, best I not travel, freezing rain and snow called for
She has a best friend that she wanted to give a homemade gift to (her friend lost her hubby a few months ago) she needed only to put binding on placemats but didn't get them done..told her I had a christmas candle runner that needed a binding and that I'd finish it for her and wrap it, least I can do
She said its been 2 days since Jim has had sleep..at 4am she heard the dogs barking, here Jim was outside waiting for his working buds to pick him up, then in the kitchen he went, got a butter knife out and was cutting rope that someone put across the room..hallucinations
Sharon sat mom down this morning and told her hospice now has to be considered, best interest for Jim and her..she is not sleeping, watches Jim continuously..taking a toll on her (meaning mom) sooo will try her best re having him home for Christmas day!
Got a call this mornimg at 7am telling me I was the only one who didn't make supper and dance last night..oh well, not up to celebrating right now but good time had by all
Rita has her suitcase at the door, hope she has a great holiday..been a hard year for her as well
So what are you all up to today?? Shopping, sewing, baking or just enjoying the day
I've got to make a quick run into Midland, have to even up gifts for Greg,Kyle Nd noah
Good morning!
What a beautiful smile to wake up to!!
Thunder Relei is so precious...
So needed a good cheerup! Had a rough evening....
Steve came rushingin the house exclaiming he needed the computer and phone now!!
He was robbed! While he was getting a haircut some hoodlem broke into his van andstole his wallet. Thankfully no cash but had to cancel all the cards, monday he will go get drivers liscense repllaced...chased after the guy but couldnt catch him.. today, we are goingto see if the guy tossed the wallet. But we are relieved no activity can be made on his cards!
juliaa came over to help decorate the tree...but noneof us were in a festive mood so we went to dinner because no one felt like cooking eighther. So maybe tonight well beautify the tree.
Got to get myself out and finish shopping.
Barara, so glad you had such a good shopping adventure...
Betty, glad to hear you wont be driving the icey roads...yikes that must be scarey to come in ona hallucination, so sorry the meds are affecting Jim like that. I sure hope theis passes...Oh gosh, I hope your mom will be able to get sleep soon, not good. You have such a big heart. It does not surprise me that you offered to fimish a candle runner for Sharon to give, a major help for sure.
Wow M your schedule made me tired, lol. Hope it all goes smoothly!
Marion, sending you Armwraps...I remember my first year without Mumma, it was pretty rough. Yesterday, she was with me as I decorated, her thrill of decorating always comes when Idecorate...I wish for you, to feel yourMoms love through theseason, and always.
That wish is for everyone too.
Betty, how funny, I was thinking about Shirley yesterday too...hope she isable to come for a.visit...of course Sure hope Bev gets a chance to visit.
Well I better get some breakfast, hear my growl, im justa starvin!
youhooo Debbie, hope yourdoingok, Betty, think she is nursing the young friend.
LIinda Kay, so glad your feeling better.
OH MY! Sorry to hear about Steve's van getting broken into! Glad he was able to cancel his cards. Jeesh, everyone is so desperate this time of year.
Judy, lucky Steve's Christmas dollars were not in his wallet..Lordy what a disaster that would have been! Hard times for many at this time of year..
Tree goes up tonight right?
Just getting dressed, need to go to Midland and finish up..shouldn't have added $$$ spent on each, not that they would do same but I'd know all is not even..Melanie gave me. Few suggestions but the boys work at factory rec so how can you buy them a santa surprise.
Went to check e'mails before I leave for town and an etransfer came in for $200..Rita was hoping she would be gone by the time I saw it but not..meant to spend for things I want in the sewing room..more toys. Lol
Rita got notification that jpher 6am flight to Florida tomorrow has been cancelled and they have booked her on another leaving at 5pm..guess because of the storms..better than being cancelled all together
Just popping in for a quick hello
Was up and out at 7am and to the Market, then some shopping with DH .. my gosh ,, the parking lots were just filled with cars and people .. actually a dangerous place to be ..
Do so hope Sharon re thinks Hospice Care .. it's where Jim should be, but, not my call, I just wish you and your family all the best Betty.
YOIKES re the robbery !! Were there any store cameras that might have picked it up ?
I was told that the cameras are everywhere, and, you can;t tell by looking, sometimes the signs in the parking lots have a camera hidden in the screws attatching them to the posts.
May be layin me down, took that damnable drug last night and I feel like doggy doo doo once again ..
Take care

This is from Mary's Facebbok page, her business, and hubby was on the news!
A quick hello!!!
DH got up early with me, and we went Christmas shopping at 6:00 a.m. Started and finished.
I am in a bad place....nothing to complain about with all Betty & family are dealing with, but
I have a dark cloud and am battling big time.
Spent 9 hours at hospital with Andy & Shannon yesterday, had his surgery and dang but
I feel bad for that boy. It was lower groin/testicles area...took longer than they thought as
damage was bad.
Was funny, Shannon was back in pre-surgery with him, said "mom is out in waiting room". Next thing...here comes Shannon...he wants MOM now. It was like that all day....get Mom!!!
Made me feel good...and I needed it.
Love to you all....miss you. I am reading and keeping up.
AND...that smile..OH, so needed that!!!
Hugs to Judy and steve!!!
Debbie
Thanks for that Linda. Mmmmmm sure wish I was there to taste. I had gelato once and I remember it as being wonderful.
I'm goin to test drive my probable new car in a couple of hours. Went to town - got a ride in with Dana - and got more $$ and did some shopping. Got a ride home - hitchhiking - with a young couple visiting here from San Deigo. I was able to give them information the were looking for and they delivered me to my door. Good thing, may ankle is acting p again and I have a backache. My back never aches!! Then a heaadache, too. I think it's just the Christmas season and take a pain pill.
Got parts to make a lalmp from a detergent bottle (see at pinterst.com).
Betty, my heart is with you and Sharon as you deal with this most difficult time. I have no advice or suggestions to offer. My father died on a Thanksgiving day but he was an alchoholic who made as many holidays as possible awfull for everybody. So on Thanksgiving I just remember that, even in death, he tried to ruin another holiday. Too bad, Dad, I still enjoy it.
Thanks for the video of the store. Looks very nice.
Our weather is quite chily - for a subtropical climate - but the skies are clear and incredibly blue and sunny. I did wear a sweatshirt over my t-shirt to go to town but iti's off now.
I'm going to lie down while my pain pill starts its work.
Betty, we all want mom when things are rough. So nice for you to be reminded of that. And to know you came through for Andy. We cherish these memories.
hugs, katie
