That video was way TOO CUTE :-)
Lump in throat time ..
Mary, I tend to think you're not going to 'settle in' to a rhthym that fits you and your hubby for a bit .. quite an adjustment to what you have been used to ..
Ronna, hard to deal with the 'shift worker' schedules at Christmas. I used to work evening (3pm-11pm) the 24/25/26 .. wasn't unusual for us to do Christmas dinner a week before, or, after Christmas, good luck with your scheduling ..
Betty, we have NO SNOW and those darned frigid temps persist .. Lorna and i are off to the border today to pick up the last of the Christmas ONLINE shopping .. next year I think I'll do it ALL online ^_^
Only an hour there and back, then we'll head out for the gym for a swim (Lorna will work out)
Can't take our gym bags with us as the border folks get a bit 'twitchy' about it, both US and Canadian side. Have had things I left in the car mistakenly gone through and eyed up and down .. jeeze, you can't tell me they don't know I only went over the border for 10-15 minutes to pic up a parcel, I didn't become SUPER SONIC and fly to Duluth or Minneapolis, buy something and fly back ! LoL >>>>>>>>>> I wish !!!
Love the Eagle, wontcha be happy to hand it off !
Shared the Baileys fudge recipe on FBook LindaK, one cousin made it, loves it, I have yet to do it, am waiting til a bit closer to Christmas. Took me a bit of time (I finally asked) where to find the Marshmellow stuff .. it wasn't in the BAKING section, it was in with the CEREAL ?
Guess kids like it on toast ?
I best get movin along, up WAY too early, gonna be a long day me thinks ..
Toodles

Best/Worse/What did I learn today?Chat with friends new&old
Loved the video Thunder. Thank you!
Sounds like you are keeping busy Ronna and "M" - I am so happy to see you out and about the way you are. Take note Betty please.....
I know Alex is at home now but have you heard whether Addy wil be able to be home for Christmas?
Sounds like things are going pretty good Mary. I'm sure it is going to take a while to get some kind of a feel for busy times and slow times.
Easy day here today. I just finished a crocheted hood/scarf and now it is back to the sewing machine. Have a few microwave bowls to finish up.
Headed out to Barrie, drove 15 minutes and Suzanne called, go home and sew..little does she know I will finish her stained glass Xmas piece today.
Accidents all over 400 hwySuzanne was trying to get to the city but not sure she won't turn back
Picked up timmies and dutchie (thinking of Norm lol) for Rita and I
Hmm maybe I will put my Jammie's back on
I made a few of those bowls yesterday. All I had here was some poly batting, so I put it in the micro wave with a bowl of water for 3 min. It worked pretty good, but I am going to San Antonio this afternoon, and I will get the proper batting. Don't need anyone getting burned.
Mary, it will take time to get the scheduled straightened out. In the restaurant business, no one knows when it will be busy or not!
Betty, that eagle looks awesome!
M, believe it or not, it is those quick border trips that raise their awareness. It only takes a few minutes to go and pick up your drugs, turn around and go back! ^_^
Glad to hear she called and told you to turn around. No need you you to slip and slide!
OK, I know what timmies is, what is a dutchie?
Timmies is a coffee from Tim Hortons, just starting in USA..here they are on every street corner and the dutchie, yum yum donut..ok so I bought me 2
Will let you all get the kinks out of the microwave bowels and will make some in the new year and set aside for Christmas..will pick up the proper batting as soon as I get to Joann's..likely not till after Christmas
Barb, hoping if Ann didn't get caught in the city re our weather that she will drop in today or tomorrow for a chat and I'll get more info on Addy.
Be cautious "M" know a few people who got stopped at the border and yes, time is keyed upon entry so they know exactly how long you've been there
cleaning craft room in order to get busy with stained glass..
organized my xmas fabrics so I know what to buy in the new year so I've xmas fabrics to work with...then, looked in another tote, have 5 quilt tops and batting ready to quilt, like the idea of having something to try my new quilter out with, imagine, received the speed control for the machine, machine still in the box..want to be more in a frame of mind before I decide to try it off/on the frame
drats, after doing all that piece by piece eagle, look what I just found in my stash
so, what else are you all up to..so interested in those microwave bowls..was the link for directions posted
Ronna, our family is so big that our holidays are all skewed. Thanksgiving is always on the Saturday after at my oldest daughters farm. At that time we all decide on the date for Christmas get together, this year will be the 28th at my youngest daughters.. Works for us, that way each can have their own holiday at home or with other family and we can all have an uninterrupted day together.
Our gathering was always either the week before or 2 weeks before so we could all spend the day together without house hop'ing.
this year with me staying home (I guess) not sure where I shall be
Instructions for the bowls...

Thanks LindaKay
Wonder if the insul brite would work
NO Betty!!!! Insul bright has metal in it which you DON'T want to use in the microwave!!!!
Not unless you need a new one!
Omg yes, see how bright I am..forgot about the foil
Got the soldering done on my piece..Need came, hooks and chain
Not likely I will get to Gayle's tonight unless it stops snowing
Made it back and forth through the US and Canadian sides .. packages came to $120. and I had no duty to pay, BOTH borders were quiet with very nicely mannered people working ^_^
Got DH an authentic 'Greek fishermans Hat' .. he loves them, and, they actually look GOOD on him when he grows his beard ..he'll be surprised for sure ..
Betty, haven't had a Dutchie in forever .. love the raisins in them .. trust me ladies, these sweet TIMMIES treats are worth the calorie count LoL
Speaking of which, Lorna had a great workout, but, because it's so danged COLD here (-18F) I couldn't bear the thought of going into the pool .. the BUBBLE windows on the side of the pool , 5 of them, look outside into the snowy parking lot, and, the wind blows at them from the west .. tooooooooooooo chilly fer this wee filly LoL
That Eagle is wonderful .. plus ALL that material ..
I guess I should get supper on the go .. havin salmon fillets and oven baked fries and some kinda veggie ..
Booga Booga ^_^

Wow lots going on now. I have never been to tim hortons there is a ciuple in kalamazoo now. One took ove an old fazolis building. Betty, I work at a long term acute care hospital. Lots of our patients are pretty bad off. Very sick with mrsa and cdiff lots of bad stuff. I really do not know what all they have. I am just the cook. We have some very sweet pepole and some great nurses and nurse aide who take care of them all. We just have 21 beds in our hospital. So we really get to know lots of our patients, they are usually there for around 6-9 weeks or more.
Well nave to go back to the store I forgot somethings for my fudge im making for saturday. Have a good eveing. Ronna
Thunder you are such a tease!!!! My high for today was 22*!!!!!! It's darn cold-BBRRRRRRRR

Barb, put a MINUS in front of that 22 for Thunder Bay, with NO relief in sight until AFTER Christmas !!
Thunder, even the Christmas Cactus I bought won't bloom, your are gorgioso !!
Hope everyone has sweet dreams, this lady has been up way too long !!!
G;night
~M~
Morning all,
Here we are another snowbound day, a day to play inside!
Will have to take a photo when daylight.
Thunder, indeed you are a tease..can always remember my grandmother's Christmas cactus, rarely did it bloom for Christmas, usually breathtaking at Easter. Lol
Ronna, important part of servicing those unable to care for themselves...my sister donates 3 days at hospice and finds it so rewarding..says the nurses there are compassionate and to be commended for their care.
As I brought the stained glass piece for caming last night and all my sewing is done but for 1 piece I need binding on I had on my list if time allowed a stained glass piece of Georgian bay for my cousin Doug who is very special to me, brother to my godson who is getting the eagle, .
I picked a pattern that only has 32 pieces, could be more work than I think but might give it a try today.
Was going to play Santa this evening and drive to Penetang, (a lot of you have been there)
To deliver gifts but with the snowing and blowing just might wait until tomorrow or sunday
Glad you waited before going out in blowing snow!!! And I do remember Penetang!!! I'll never forget our trip to your neck of the woods Betty. Just beautiful....
I'm still in awe over the eagle you did. Fantastic piece and you should be very proud of it. Especially with all the extra work due to kitty.
Buses are cancelled, lots of mommies won't be happy, kids home most of the week ut little ones are doing happy dance.
Think Barb I took the gals/guys at the gathering to Penetang as well and then Joyce and the gals when we dropped into aunt Exilda/Uncle Louis ..gee, even think I took Crissy to penetang as well
So love having you all visit, sure open you and Norm can do so again, we didn't do Toronto
Had coffee, chatted with Rita who is not looking forward to driving 100 miles to pick up her grandchildren then 100 back...now it's time to see how quickly I can do a stained glass piece.
Betty my "Christmas cactus" blooms at Easter too. Found out on DG by description...leaf shape.. that mine is instead an Easter cactus. Perhaps your DGM's was too. Mine came from my greatgrandmother.
wish you all lived closer so we could have a sit and chat day..you would have to watch though that I didn't put you all to work
better photo of the snowflakes
must have let the bedroom door open, guess who snuggled into the pressies, guess Missy is waiting for Christmas
ok..time to see how much I can get done to the stained glass piece
Perhaps that's it Karen..
Might when out and about pick one that is ready to bloom so I can have a bit of grandma with me at Christmas.
Jim was suppose to go to the oncologist this morning but no can do so Sharon will go on her own. Mom said not to give Jim the worse seeing as he's in a depression right now. Am sure Sharon will know what to do..
Good luck with the new stained glass piece Betty .. and .. would LOVE some of your snow just to push our temps UP .. it's -32F this morning, the trees are snapping and cracking, which scares the dogs .. not that they spent too long doing their business ..
Sure hope Rita makes out alright with the grands ..
Mine both have strep throat, but, are on antibiotics and back at school .. my week long babysitting date is coming up in January .. just hope their 3 dogs will LISTEN to me ..sure don't want to have that being an issue ..
Off to the gym, and, also a swim (Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr) .. then maybe some Christmas shopping
TOODLES
~M~
Rita called from the post office...a parcel awaits!
Will post photo's as soon as I get it..so excited
must be Santa Warren pressie as I have all my other swaps accounted for
oh happy days
some wait for paint to dry, I'm waiting for glue to dry lol
nothing like deciding to make a stained glass piece and not buy glass...soooo I've cut a few of the one piece sections into more than one so I can use up left overs..shhhh we won't tell Doug
SOS on our Debbie?? Has so much going on all the time worry when there is not post
Ohhh think Judy is now a lady of leisure and she'll get to drop in more often
Home again, home again, jiggety jag :-)
Busy day .. Betty, did RIta get to Penetang ? Lorna's folks said that area was under feet and feet of snow !! Hope she made out OK ..
We made it to the gym by 1030, left around 1:15pm , did swim, was kinda nice, we were the only ones in the pool .. and, looking out the 'bubble windows' towards the snowy airport and mountain and freezing temps was rushy LoL ..
So, after all the working out, we headed for Tim Hortons, and a muffin and then picked up Chinese food for supper LoL
Lorna's trainer will likely just laugh when she tells her what we did .. we PROMISED to be better tomorrow !!!
Temps have risen to a balmy -12F, NO W I N D ~~~~~ the dogs actually dawdled outside ..
Missing hearing from Dianne and Debbie .. actually all of the ladies not posting, I can only hope it's the rush and push of Xmas keeping everyone busy ..
Off to eat some Chinese Food YAYAYAYAYA .. M did NOT have to cook tonight, downside, it's CHEMO night .. ahh well ..
TOODLES
~M~
Looks like its me and you girl..miss everyone as well.
Rita was going to Georgetown to pick up grandkids and it was I hoping to drive to Penetang but I'm not oranized enough.
Is the pool open during jchristmas holidays? You will not know what to do if it closes. Guess Lorna wants to be 'fit' for spring and work.
Used to go into Midland Friday's after work and would always pick up Chinese, drats now you made me hungry..
Shh don't tell anyone, after Ann left I was warming up spaghetti sauce, put the spaghetti on, decided to cut a few more pieces of glass, oh oh fire extinguisher started to beep..
Sprayed the house well, lit a few candles, plugged in the air fresher and scrubbed and scrubbed the pot..don't want to get caught burning supper. Lol
Ann dropped in for a bit..she loved her Xmas gift, long story re her hubby Mike and same gift..she started to cry, didn't mean to do that.
Ordering a star for Jim in the morning, just need his full name for the certificate..
With company and my taking a few too many breaks I'm not where I wanted to be with the stained glass piece but I will keep plugging
Betty - waiting with bated breath to see your Santa Warren pressie box!!
oh oh....... you burned your spaghetti? tsk tsk tsk.......
and that pic of Alex and Addie, with Santa - Priceless!!! Brought a great big smile on my face, to see them out in the open air! IS Alex going home, and Addie staying?
That's what I wanted to say to Betty before! What on earth will you put in that place on the wall where the eagle has been living? Now you can put up another eagle!! The piece is amazing, Betty, like I knew it would be. Did you get all the smell out? Hope so.
Up to 37 here today...No minus thank you very much!
Make a whole batch of caramels for one of my friends as a last minute thing, and Bill and I dropped them at her house today. Oh gosh, she had bought me the most gorgeous poinsettia. Said she wanted to get it for me since I had done her the favor on such short notice. Plus she paid for the caramels! Whatta friend!! ^_^
Seems like I started rushing the minute my feet hit the floor this morning and I'm just now able to slow down a bit. Think I'll hit the couch!
I had a nice chat with Lil Injun. She sure sounds like she is happy now that she isn't working any more. I hope she pops in here soon, too.
Marilynne, I held my breath when you said you two were going swimming. It's Friday the 13th, you know!!! Sounds like no one drowned though, so that's good news!
Mary, so been thinking of you in your new endeavor. Hope things settle in to a routine and it's everything that you and hubs think it can be! Betty, what say we hop in the car come Spring and go have a sammie at Mary's place?????
Sue called and she's coming for lunch on Monday. It's the only time I had available all week! I can't believe how busy this December has been for me. I got the tree up, but haven't decorated it yet. I think I will do that in the morning. Tomorrow night is the Water Garden Society Christmas party. It's always lots of fun with good food, too!
Stay warm all you Christmas bunnies....hugs to all of you!
PS...Thanks for asking Betty, Bill is doing pretty good. He's not liking the cold weather though. Asked me if I wanted to move to Hawaii.....
Go for it Joyce then I could make a yearly visit, nah, maybe every 6 months. Lol glad Bill is doing better. Yep, Judy sure was stressed out with that job, best she leave before she ended up having a breakdown.
Remember getting caramels from you Joyce, they are yummy.. Very yummy !!
Thanks for the compliment on the eagle, thought he would never fly off that wall..proud of myself for getting him done.
Susan, Rita just came in with the grandchildren, just going to get organized then posting photo's of my treasures...of course Susan and Katie were my Santa Warren gift buddy's and what a box I received from them..far far too generous..made me cry..two people cried here today..Ann and I
Susan, Alex has been home about a month, not likely Addy will be home for Christmas..still a few tings concern the doctors..
Hi Everyone, I'm doing better. Haved spent most of the week in bed, it seems. Today I greeted Tony happily, telling him I had neither a stomach ache or a headache. After a couple of weeks of stomach aches, yesterday I was hit with a blinding headache and sore muscles and went back to sleep shortly after tony left for the day and slept most of the day and night.
Today wass much beter. My ankle is almost all better and I continue to baby it. Since I don't have a car and there are no orthopedic doctors nearby I am checking in with my nurse friend Maria and being happy that I continue to improve. Sprains and torn tendons just take a long time to heal.
I felt enough better to do laundry and wash dishes.
Gradually getting Christmas bows on the stuffed animals. I have about twenty pounds of hard candies. Ten pounds donated by friends of Dana.
Cooking another big pot of chicken and rice for the dogs. Yes, they get home made food almost every night.
Betty, glad you are liking the gifts.
hugs, katie
So glad you are improving daily Katie! Am sure Tony is a great help, takes very good care of you. Hope you are well enough to play Santa..those kiddies will so enjoy the teddies and candy. Bet they look forward to it every year!
As for the gift, I thank both you and Susan from the bottom of my heart..
guess you all would like to see my 'pretties'
I surely will pamper myself..rarely do, now I have a reason to do so
can smell the lavender from the spa box..
Like Judy I'll be playing tunes while driving to work each day..enough cd's for home as well
Oooh came back to edit, almost forgot to say love my red fleece throw
Can tell they know me..got me a quilting book..almost ready for bed and looking forward to browsing through it
This message was edited Dec 13, 2013 7:31 PM
think someone was peeking at my tree, what beautiful tree ornaments
It was a toss up, will be making a live xmas arrangement this week and thought I might include them in the arrangement but got excited and in the tree they went
also got some sweets..they must be in the photos' somewhere
Yes, I really got spoilt and am loving it..
:-) Betty - so glad you liked your Santa Warren pressies..... Each of us, Katie and I, picked out the stuff for you, so it was really a "combined" effort. Bless you, katie, for helping me get more into a Christmas mood (I love giving stuff!!) and being a partner with me, to give this box of goodies to our Betty!!!
I absolutely love clip on birds so I'll bet you can guess my favs. Those red ones are especially nice.
Oh Betty, you sure got a wonderful box of goodies!
Can smell the lavender down here!! Oh my love that stuff. Betty are you in for a treat with the Seminole quilting book. I have some original pieces done by the Seminoles around Hollywood, Fl and do have an older version of the book.....much older. Love it to death. Enjoy lady...a really nice package indeed.
