I copied this over from the last thread......
Rita should certainly understand the circumstances now Betty. I would not want to leave myself either. Especially to be there for Sharon if no one else... Keeping you all in my prayers...
Betting Sharon is needing your help and support in taking care of Jim and handling your mom. It's very difficult to make the decisions alone and a comfort to have another to help with them.
Just a thought, has Jim given anyone power of attorney for his care? If not He should while he still can.
Excellent point Karen. However we were told as long as Mom was cognizant she still made the decisions regardless of a Power of Attorney.
Believe Sharon has power of attorney..
Thanks for the nice explaination of the Santa Warren exchange. It was very touching. He sounds like he was a wonderful person. Sorry for allthe sickness going on here. Take care all. Ronna
Hang in there with us Ronna. We do this every year now and we would love to have you drop in with a chat anytime.
Saturday Norm went to storage and brought back the Christmas stuff. Then Sun he headed to Maine for two and half days so I got to play with decorations. It was fun and we saved way too much from the move. I still need to finish up with them as well as sewing. I have two more sets of microwave bowls to make as well. Guess I best get busy!!!
evening all,
Ronna, next year you will be 1st on the list right? Thanks for the prayers, really do need them as do all the gals
Katie, you do so much for Tony and his family, just know they appreciate it..sometimes difficult trying to change lineage. Now don't you temp me in coming to visit, I'm a bad penny, you never know where I will show up.
Please, please get checked out, saw you pointing your fingers at me so now time to do same.
Santa's workshop going on here tonight..Melanie making flannel loungers for the kids, of course there was wine bottle fabric and she had to make herself a pair lol
Rita, she's on her 3rd rag quilt, will be done tonight
me, playing at trying to make a 'make shift' tree skirt but fizzing out on them
Looks like your all having fun Betty.
Chiming in... HUGS to all.... we are hanging on...
Hope my Santa Warren Pressie has made it there.....or if not then soon...
Morning
Thanks for moving us over Betty .. thought I had put my post in here, but it's in the older thread, no big deal, just said I was getting up ear;y to head into the city with DH to TRY and finish up the shopping.
I can hope!!
The 'jammies' are wonderful, expecially the wine bottles!!
Nice to see you're still 'hanging in' Mary, has the clientelle picked up a bit?
Betty, you have certainly had some tough decisions to make .. keeping you in my T & Ps
Best get ready to go for breakfast .. FINN PANCAKES at a rather well known Finnish restaurant, then, WALMART LOOK OUT !!!
Toodles
~M~
Morning all,
Comfy in my Jammie's, school buses are cancelled so hurrah
My today's goal is ,finish the eagle throw/hanging'
Now how many times have you heard me say that. Lol
Mary, here's hoping with each day the kinks are dealt with with ease. Starting right in the Christmas rush is a challenge but one you will all get through. Are you helping out on weekends?
Dianne, you getting this weather or did "M" send it just to me..calling for squawks right into the weekend.
"M" most of your Christmas shopping is done on line is it not?
Good luck finding what you want at Walmart.
Contrary to what most tink, I'm not a shopper, ok, enjoy shopping for supplies but not shopping/shopping.
Now that Melanie and Rita have finished sewing all their Christmas pressies I imagine I will be the only elf left
Morning Betty.
When it comes to Christmas gifts, I do a lot of shopping online. I hate the crowds in the stores.
Good morning everyone. Norm got home safely last night so all is well in my world!!!
I've got a touch of a bug or something so I'm heading back to bed and sweat it out. Sean is coming this weekend and Gram has to be tip top for him so we can make our Betty project...... Both of us are so looking forward to it. Mom is bringing down the inflatable mattress so he can stay overnight. LOL I told her it was a two day project. SSSHHHHHH. This way we have Sean a bit longer. I don't really think it is a problem as she has now told me she wants to do shopping while he is away!!! So I guess we are doing her a favor while she does us one!!!!! That has been the hard part about this move we made. We are not in contact with the boys the way we were and we miss that.
Barb I can understand how you feel. Being 250 miles from most of the grands instead of less than ten is a lonesome feeling.
Hubby had a Dr. appt. yesterday so I had him drop me off and finished up my shopping, including the fixins and containers for scramble. Now all I need to do is wait for the items I ordered on Cyber Mon. which are due this week, make the scramble, and finish sewing the microwave bowls. Those most likely have been done if I didn't decide to make 10 sets. Same with the scramble, when most of the grands were still at home, I could make family containers, now they each want their own. In the case of DGD Emily, she asked for her own as she said her folks didn't share very well. LOL
Reminds me she has the next birthday so time to change avatars again.
Oh My would you look at that. How awesome!
OH Betty, that is so precious! Thanks for sharing!
OH MY GOODNESS !!! Betty that picture is just incredible !!! brought tears of joy, and shivers in me timbers LOL so so beautiful
now THAT is Christmas ^_^
going to hold that picture in my head and go try to get some sewing done.
It is indeed a miracle!! And you All helped make it possible!
That truly made me tear up...what a beautiful picture!!!
Tears here too!!! What a fantastic picture - Ann must be so happy as well as Melissa and her hubby. Thank them for us please Betty for thinking of us when they have so much going on.
Will do
So glad I'm in my Jammie's looking out at the snow falling and enjoying vs on the road..now if tomorrow could be the same. Lol
Back to the eagle
Forgot to add
Rita is gone to the community centre to help with Seniors Christmas turkey dinner, am sure with this weather many will not have gone..here is hoping she brings home turkey dinner for us
Oh what a beautiful Christmas present! No matter what happens, Alex and Addy together with Santa on their first Christmas. Tears of joy here.
Betty, as much as I was hoping to see you on your way to Florida, I have to ring in with the stay home suggestions. Think that is the best place for Bessie right now!
Karen....Am I missing something? If that is Rory, he sure is pretty!
Love all the Santa Warren pressies. I'm enjoying them through all of you!
There was something else I wanted to say to you, Betty, but now it's gone!
5 Degrees here this morning. It's awful cold for us, but I feel like such a wuss when I see M posting about her -30!!! Guess I should be thankful for 5!!!
Getting ready to put up the tree. Moving furniture around and trying new places for it, but looks like it will go back in the corner again. Bill can't see the tv for the reflection of the lights if I put it where I've made a space now. Sigh....oh well, I only have to do the front and one side if I put it where I usually do!
They cancelled our garden club Christmas party yesterday. We got about 4 inches of snow in the night and since we have so many elderly women in the club we decided it was not worth taking a chance on anyone getting a broken hip or something from slipping.
Praying for all of you that need it, and hugs to all of you.
LOL Joyce, Rory was there until this morning. His b'day was yesterday. This is Emily DGD in TN her b'day is Fri.
Joyce, if it was not to rush and get the tree skirt done, too late, likely I'll mail Friday
Imagine a lot of functions will be cancelled this week, storm is suppose to hover over us till the weekend.
The community center was expecting 100 seniors (free turkey dinner) today, wonder how many showed up?
Best play it safe, hate to seniors break an arm/leg or hip..will they dhave it next week Joyce?
Karen, pretty young woman..
Kyle turns 18 on Saturday

Whew! Karen, that splains a LOT!! :o)
Betty, I had so hoped you wouldn't feel like you had to do that skirt. You have so much going on in your life right now! I'm sure it's wonderful.
No won't have it next week. This coming Tuesday is Sherry's birthday and we're having a little party for her. So garden club is just cancelled this year.
Bill needs the computer...Later ladies!
There was no pressure Joyce, I don't like NOT dong something when I say I will!
How's Bill, behaving..feeling better?
Do you still have the family with you?
Wish Sharry happy birthday for me will you.
Snowmobiles will be ut tonight for sure, talk about snow
Ski hills although they were making their own snow will be elated with all this snow.
Well we did get the lower 60s for today and I am not complaining. My DIL had a conflict today so I went and worked for her at the homeless shelter..her church does it once a month. I must say I really enjoyed doing this. I will be on their "sub" list in the event they get shorthanded.
Of course I couldn't just enjoy a great feeling of doing something really useful, so my car broke down on the way home. Thank goodness my son didn't work to far way and came to mom's rescue. Apparently the alternator connection wasn't very tight and it killed my battery. He has it charging but I may still have to buy a new one. Oh well such is life.
Betty, I too would love to see you on the way south but I also agree with the others. You need to be there if nothing but moral support for your sister. You certainly don't want any regrets haunting you later.
Stay warm everyone.
Happy BDay to all the up and comers, I have a nephew and niece celebrating tomorrow, one in Alliston ON, and one in Montreal ..
Well .. 6 hours of 'meeting people' later, and, Gord and I accomplished grocery shopping and a FEW pressies . am now thinking the grandkids will get good old 'cashola'! Bought Brooklyn DGD jammies, and Austin (DGS) has a couple of Ts and a hoodie .. venturing further into the world of 'teen clothing' is not for me !!!
Betty, have had snowmobiles runnin around here for about 2 weeks .. how they can stand this bitter cold is anyones best guess .. must be dressed for it.
OH .. found out today my new hip does NOT like C O L D .. the titanium actually feels cold on my skin !! ISHY !!!
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! that pic of Alex and Addison is just absolutely MADE for tears, AND, cheers!
Alex will be home for Xmas and Addy will remain behind ?
BUT, viable and fighting !!!
Best get at supper
HUGS all around
~M~
just have to share.....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAe8j-4IJKM
That is cute. Is this your family?
No. No one I know. One of the military / veterans pages on FB had posted it. I thought it was wonderful!!
Worked the paying job and then closed tonight....so I could make hubs go home for 7pm. He has been working 7a-10p every day. Our official grand opening is Saturday.
Thanks for asking about the business !
we get completely slammed at lunch which is something I least expected. This week's schedule was something I did a week ago so they are always wrong.
Most folks are very happy but we have had some unhappy due to the rush.
Picture of the twins! Betty (HUGS)
love to all.....
Mary
Well seems like all are doing pretty good here. I have the day off and tomorrow too. When the hospital gets lol on patients that eat. (We have some patients that are on tube feeding only.) Which right now we are only feeding 6. So we get "low needed" which is me today! Fine with me. It is only 8 degrees this morning. I am glad to stay home instead of leaving at 530 in the morning. Have the christmas tree on and loving it. I want to get my christmas wrapping done in the next two days. Suppose to work the weekend. Depends on how many we are feeding.
I am not as crafty as many of you here. I get all sown and done gifts. ;) everyone always seems to enjoy them. My Army son will be home in a couple of weeks can not wait to give him a great big hug! He just rolls his eyes and smiles. We are kind of in a pickle this year as when to celebrate christmas. E eryone works way different hours and on son jn law is a trucker so he is off to kther states. One daughter works until mkdnight, my husband works overnight and another daughter lives an hour away. Well have a great day all. Ronna
Morning,
Mary, worried that you and Lance will get burned out..proper balance of schedule will continually shift depending on the season so a hard one to judge.
Thunder, loved the video
tremendous amount of snow here..Greg/Mel were here by snowmachine last night..nice visit..Kyle got a room in Barrie after his classes, smart enough to know it was dangerous driving home.
while Greg/Mel Chatted on I hand sewed the binding and the tube for hanging the wall piece, tonight I will stitch feathers on the wings and head cap then it can be wrapped..
hoping to get the binding on and done on the tree skirt then out comes stained glass pieces I have to finsh..getting there I am
Betty that is so beautiful.....
Thank you, know my godson will love it!
Ronna, best part of the day is up early having coffee watching the warmth of lights flickering..mesmerizing
What in the care services do you work at? Sounds heart wrenching..
I as well love anything homemade..
Much the same with all families, everyone's schedules are so demanding.
Last few times I've watched rookie blue with Tom selleck I see them all around the table, a must each night at supper, sure would be nice but not sure it happens in anyone's home anymore.
