Dear Jaye is going through a very hard time right now and I'm praying for all.
Sweet Interruptions. Rm 271
Great house Cindy, all ready for the trick or treaters. As usual there is a big Halloween party on the city hall lawn. I'm sure to have a lot of little ones come by and after the big party they manage to stop at my house on their way home. Just getting my bowl of candy ready for tonight.
Awww, there's so much love here and I really didn't do anything wonderful, but walked into FIL's house with the confidence that my sisters have given me.
I am not expecting much, as I'm still wary of MIL. Whatever happens, I know I can handle 'it',
Kel's legs hardly touch the ground since the visit. I guess I've added to his stress.
Thank you my sistahs.. thank you.
I just got home an hour ago. Ran a few errands, had to bring a cat to the vet and that took some time! Wish I had brought along a book.
We were in a hurry, that I didn't have time to feed the indoor kitties their regular breakfast food.
My hands are full of scratches when I fed them just now!! They couldn't wait for the cans to be opened!
Cindy, will there be a skeleton greeting the kids???? Happy Halloween and your house looks good Cindy!
Sis Kathy, you shouldn't be on your feet too long. That will just aggravate your back. If you have a heating pad, that will help it too.
Things look wilted and dry outside, LK. No winds so no allergies for me. Yes, you sound bad yesterday. Hope you'll feel better soon.
Pegi, we never get kids up here for Trick or Treating. Didn't have to spend any money on candy.
But back in Louisiana, the halloweens would coincide with the tangerine season. Besides candy, I'd include an orange from our grove.
I bet Austin and Savannah can do a candy sale after this weekend!!
Karen, are you back home now?
Carole, soon it will be that visit to the doctor for your DH. Hope he'll get the best help.
So sorry to read of Sue needing you that bad Marion. She sounds very lonely and there's nothing you can do until she get slapped by a brick!!!! You know what I mean.
Susan said something right sometimes back.
We are all His lilies, and the Lord will see to our needs.
But it helps our minds so much, when we know that we have kind sisters that will keep praying for us.
Just know that those prayers continue Jaye. We are with you.....
Yes, appointment tomorrow, Jaye. Thank you for remembering. ♥
Hope you get good reports.
I will be gone for the week end. I am leaving at noon tomorrow to go to Houston to the international quilt show. My very first quilt show, and I am so looking forward to it. Wish some of you could join me.
You will just love it LK. They are so amazing. The only thing I don't like about them is that I come home with so many ideas and then they are gone from my memory!!! Take your camera but ask if it is okay to photograph. Most shows say it is okay but it is good to ask first. Have fun!!!!
Wish I could join you LK! I was there for the 1984 Houston International Quilt Festival. There will be signs in front of the quilts if picture taking aren't allowed.
You'd be tempted with all the new gadgets and take advantage of the demos. One day, I'll try to make a trip to Houston to coincide with the festival.
Barb, the quilt shows here are very small, not worth my time. The last one I attended was in Raleigh, but mostly what's displayed are the nuts and bolts of the sewing industry. Kel fell in love with a Husqvarna long arm machine!
Good luck Carole's DH!
I'm still in TN Jaye. Granddaughter is moving and new place needs a lot of TLC. Grandpa is from a long line of painters so we are helping get that done. She will get a rent credit of up to $200. per month for any work or repairs they do. Needed a good cleaning plus we are pulling out carpet, it has "that" smell. Brody has severe allergies so land lord agreed to change to hard floors. New flooring will go in after first of the year but carpet had to go now. Putting down a coat of paint for now. I'm thinking we will be here another week or so.
Had fun tonight, we never get kids on Halloween so stayed to do hand outs while the kids were taken out. Can hardly believe it, gave out over 350 pieces. Ran out and had to turn off light. Very few homemade costumes but the ones we did see were so cute.
I was surprised that only 2 showed up for candy tonight. I guess the party on city hall lawn was a great success. Maybe barking dogs kept some of the kids away. Well, bag up the candy and put in freezer until next year.
I stayed up a little longer, had to see if I got any mail. What an excuse to get on line. Now I am off to bed. It is a little after 10 here and I'm tired.
Did MIL ever let the preacher come for Murdock? I just can't imagine anyone so mean.
It poured rain in my part of TN. Windy as well.
Good morning sistahs.
AC is on here Carole. I woke up sweating. Stepped outside and it's warm!! Supposed to be in the low 50s but it feels like summer. Crazy 1st of November. Watch out tomorrow. It will return to cool days.
Karen, that's so great of you and your DH willing to help out your DGD. Besides tons of savings on the rent, the landlord is getting quality work. Poor Brody, I hope he grows out of his allergies.
Pegi, as usual, I didn't get one knock at the door.
Funny you should ask, a week ago or so, preacher from their former church, came by and MIL refused to let him in. Then Kel was accused of a conspiracy!! That wasn't so, as Kel himself was surprised to see the man. Thank God, the preacher knew MIL very well and that's not the first time he had the door shut in his face. Her excuse was Murdock's too ill to recieve visitors... again.
Kel ran out and apologized to him..
Preacher said that at least one can pray for someone without the intended person present!
Have a safe trip LK! May you have luck in getting Todd some Kim Chee! I don't cook Korean food and when I do, it's only the BBQ and I get the bottled sauce!
Sis Kathy, I hope you are faring much better. When you think you're getting better, you know how your mind lies to you!!! Stay off your feet!
When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them, and sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for you. Life is full of blessings! Express Gratitude for all the good things in life!
Wise words I found online!
That statement is so profound Jaye. Isn't it funny how we never seem to think of the good days, only the bad ones. You are right. So I give thanks to any and all who have prayed for me.......I'm having a good day...
Just a quick HI!!!! Looking up some info then back to planting........received plants from TPE peeps and have to get them planted. I leave early in the morning for Auburn. Taylor has 9am soccer game then more yard work at Mom's
had 20 twick or tweeters last night, Hmmmmm must of been because I was the only house decorated on the WHOLE block........................still have lots of candy left over.......... ^_^
Ok so I got those planted, still have seeds to get in the ground but that has to wait until Wed.
I am leaving early in the morn for Taylor's soccer game then spending 3 days with mom again. We are going to finish the Iris gardens yes gardens!!! There are so many Iris' that she will have two but the will be side by side.
Ladies, I need a huge favor from any of you......I am in need of old jewelry and belt buckles. I have been "Blinging" buckles and making necklaces and earrings. A lady in Georgia, has a consignment store and has asked for some of my stuff. I already sold one buckle.
I am willing to make any kind of deal or trade plants, candles, a painted gourd birdhouse, whatever I can make for YOU.
Here are a couple of pics of two buckles I've done. I'm having a hard time getting good pictures of them, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Let me see what I can find for you Cindy. Those are pretty.
Very pretty Cindy, wish I had some buckles to send to you. Must check around with some friends.
Oh Thank You, LK and Pegi, would be awesome. LK I have the lily bulbs for you but there's something else I want to send you just need a good box, hope to get it in mail when I get back home.
Morning sistahs.
Cindy, I'll see what I can find around here. I collect Boucher costume jewelry, but they're all in perfect shape, no 'repair' pieces that I can spare. Don't have any belt buckles though.
You always come up with such nifty designs. Hope you found a sustainable income through your hobby.
Not one party goer here neither, Pegi.
One year, back in Louisiana, the tangerine trees so happened to be full of fruits. I decided to drop some in the tricksters bags, along with a banana. You should see the puzzled looks on the kids' faces. The following year, not one car stopped at the house! Wonder why..
Carole, what's the doctor's plan for your DH?
Sis Kathy too quiet. Are you taking it easy?
Going to town. Thought I'd finish an old project in time for another swap. So... off to plan B again.
Yes Barb, the Lord commands us to "In everything give thanks". My old pastor would keep telling his congregation, before you pray for something, give thanks first.
Part of my daily thanks is for sisters like you!
Have a wonderful Saturday sistahs, I'll be back.
Very pretty, Cindy! You do keep yourself very busy.
Our weather is still very nice, in fact yesterday it was HOT. Can't believe my plumeria is going to bloom and here it is so close to the end of the year.
I agree. Very nice work, Cindy!
Very pretty Cindy.
Good morning sistahs,
come on over to the new room!
