Keep the prayers coming sisters.
You've said a mouthful Karen. Kel says the only one in his family that's happy on earth, is his brother that had joined our Lord.
When FIL ended the affair, that was about the same time his coworker led him to Jesus. So you could say, because of that, he stuck to his vows no matter how miserable life is.

I honestly don't want to make MIL sound like a tyrant, but she is.
For months, FIL had been hanging on to life, unwilling to let go. And now he's at peace. Besides the hospice therapist preparing him for the inevitable, Kel too has been reminding his dad that Jesus' promises are true. Of course done when MIL makes her daily lunch pick up.
It's understandable why FIL's faith can be shaken even a deacon. Somehow I have that feeling that MIL must kept cursing hell on him.

Marion, you continue to give Charles and Kim all the encouragement and support they need for them to live a happy life. And there's Karen, saying once we're accepted into her family, none leaves not even divorce can change one's mind. Unfortunately Karen, the 'outsiders' like me are happy to say adios to her craziness.

Kel marvelled at my sisters when we had that reunion at BJ's in Dallas. He had never met a group of remarkable women. So what's normal everyday life to us, he doesn't get that with his parents. Of course there were moments of normalcy, but it's like walking on eggshells..... you don't know when she'd rear that other bipolar head.

On to happy thoughts in MY house. Think I'm over this cold. Touch wood!! Got so much to do, sewing wise. I may have overextended myself! Since I won't be able to return to Louisiana for Thanksgiving, that means I can take my time with two simple promised quilts.
I just have to tackle that knit polyester ones!
Thank God for the "Handmade with Love" swap, I have some finished stuffs around! Yes!! Can you believe that? OOh I can't reveal what they are in case one of my sisters here, like LK.. could be my swap buddy!!

Expecting dry weather today, so no rest with watering. Temps returned to high 80s yesterday and so did the flies!!!

May my quilting sisters be inspired by Carole's grandmother excellent Crazy Quilt.

Morning Jaye.
Glad to hear our feeling better.
You said that Mudock is at peace, did he pass away?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Not yet, LK. He's finally ready to go.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Jaye, I try to do what I think is right by my 2 but being a parent is one of the most important jobs you will do to be so ill prepared for. It is always trial and error. Like Karen, I have many who have divorced, separated or what ever in our family but they are all still family. Family doesn't have to be blood!!

I am happy to hear Murdock is at peace. I so wish I could make things different but alas no one can....sending huge hugs to you and Kel. I do think at a future date you and Kel need to make a trip to northern Florida for some rest and relaxation.

Looks like our storm couldn't hold together very well.....not complaining but I will take some rain. Not floods but some nice steady rain for my newly planted shrubs.

Football at noon for us but I am hoping to run a few errands. There will be a large conference at Kim's HS on Wednesday and they have asked for volunteer donations of baked goods. Yes, I stuck my neck out.......hey, I have lots of daughters there so the least I can do is bake some items for them.

Have a great day everyone.

Marking my spot. Sure wish I could quilt like my grandmother or like you talented ladies. Alas, I can't. I have done a few needle crafts - some crochet, candlewicking, and some simple emboidery but that's about it. :/

I'm glad the hurricane is falling apart. I guess now flooding is the biggest threat.

I imagine the Titans play today. Have to go check.

Ya'll have a lovely Saturday.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks Marion, enjoy the game! Gonna be a great one, two undefeated teams. But I know you all will spear those Terrapins dead!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

volunteered to help miss Vanessa wednesgay cook the wed, nite dinner.
will ask for prayers for Murdock tomorrow

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Carole, if you handle fabric, you can do patchwork! Start with simple squares. You have enablers here!!
My NFL teams are the Broncos and the Saints.
Who are the Titans playing tomorrow?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

The church will love you Sis!! They would make you their regular cook.
Thanks.. Kel appreciates all prayers/

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

I am a numbskull anymore when it comes to sewing. I bought a new machine several years ago and there it sits in the closet. I think it's just that I don't get enough uninterrupted time anymore to sit down and actually focus on what I'm doing. Too distracted.

Titans play the Chiefs tomorrow. Yes, tomorrow. :)

Mom used to crochet up a storm. She still crocheted house slippers when she was in her 80s. ♥

What a beautiful Granny Afghan Carole!!! Such a treasure I'm sure.
Prayers being said for Murdock and for you and Kel, Jaye. May the Lord grant him peace.....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

What kind of machine do you have Carole?

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Yes, continued prayers for Murdock and Kel.

Thank you, Barb. Mom's gone now and I do cherish that afghan.

Linda, it's a White. I don't know much about the brand. We always had Singer machines.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Prayers for Kel, you, and Murdock....... it's good that he's ready to go to The Lord.
Jaye - guess I haven't been chatting, so the thread moved on without me.
anyway, I'm here now.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad you are here with us Susan.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thanks, LK - good to be back :-)

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

It is very warm and windy today, promised some rain but until it happens I'm not believing it. I'm sure the wind has blown most of the dead needles off the pine trees, what a mess.

Prayers for Murdock that the Lord will end his suffering soon. He has fought a long and hard battle. I'm so sorry for that cold hearted woman who won't allow the preacher to visit him. I wouldn't deny that request to any one.

I guess it is time for me to wake Darwin from his nap so he can watch football.

I'm just feeling lazier that usual.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh me but I am exhausted. That really was one tough game Jaye but we did manage to eek out a win. :-)

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

glad your team won marion

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Thanks Kathy. I really can't imagine it was much of a game...oh well, I am sure those in attendance enjoyed it.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is a quilt block she made I believe!

Morning everyone!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Wasn't that her center for the round robin?

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Morning, all. Thanks, LK. That certainly is beautiful. Love the colors. What did the finished quilt look like?

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Just popping in to add my prayers to the list for Murdocks peaceful passing. I have a bad feeling about what she will expect from Kel then...but come to think of it, it can't be much worse than it already is, knock on wood...

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Good afternoon! Going to be a very hot day, around 93, and I'm so waiting for fall to start here. We seem to go from hot to cool then back to hot. Just read about the big snow storm in SD. Amazing how weather can change from one day to the other. A lot of fires here too, the firemen from all over are kept so busy during this season.

DH was taking a lot of medication for high bp, but when chemo started it started to go into the very long range so they took him off 2 of the meds, then it still was low so they cut in half the other 2 he was taking. He said he is feeling so much better, best he has felt in over a year. Of course, the new stronger pain pills are helping too. I feel some of the heavy load has been taken off my shoulders too.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)
