Happy CANNUCK Thanksgiving !!
Like Betty, I have been upp for quite sometime, just about to start on an apple pie (one got eaten last night), then, on to the stuffing and bird canoodling LoL
Made the cranberry sauce a couple of days ago, so, baring any unforseen hurdles, the bird will be cooking around 10 or 11am so we can eat around 4ish.
Not sure if Mike has a website, but, I'll ask, or look .

Morning everyone. Happy thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends. Save me enough turkey for a sandwich please.
Off to look at the links.
Mary your daughter is beautiful! Wishing her lots of luck! Love the bird on her shoulder.
M I just looked at your link for Mike's work. Wow. That is beautiful.
Happy Thanksgiving to all our Canadian friends, bet you're having a busy but fun day. Ours is coming next month. Enjoy time with friends and family.
LOL we all sat on the deck one warm Easter and let a 4 year old paint our toe nails purple. Left it on too.
The joys of Grandkids!
Quick break,
Rain has stopped
All accomplished what need to be accomplished...even tote bags!
Potatoes need peeling then feet up for 10-15 minutes
Back later
Hooe you are all enjoying your day..
Raining cats and dogs here too.
Mary I have marked Nov 8 in my day planner. Even though I can't be there in person I will certainly help you celebrate the launching of your new venture. You and Lance will do well, I just know you will.
Betty are you going to be able to relax enough to enjoy your dinner with everyone? It will be interesting to see how Noah interacts with everyone today. I am hoping he is in a good place emotionally and will have a blast with all of his family.
Steve, Pam and Tia came this morning and we got the generator permanently located. Steve built a metal mesh hut with a shingled roof so the generator will be safe from the elements. Pups are exhausted from playing outside all morning with Tia. They are both sound asleep. Think I might just join them for a nap too.

Wishing our Canadian family a very happy Thanksgiving!!!
Has been busy two days. Went to Letchworth Park yesterday, and did lots of walking,

Hello To All ;
Betty ! FIL was admitted late August can you believe it ? Yes Rox DSD1 is VERY theatrical... she is very talented in my opinion yet a handful.
LOL Kid or grownup.... I think there should be a new category for our Betty...
LK Thanks re: Rox DSD1.... this was the first I saw the bird too..... Hope you are getting some cooler weather....
Thunder love the baby tie die onesie... from Hubs of course.
Dianne... Hope the 11/8 date "makes it".... will this be the first time to have a generator? In case of blizzard, etc? (HUGS)
"Pick on Betty" day..... was that because they knew it would lighten the mood and you would be okay? So glad he brought his GF and that you like her. I think I like DS's GF more than I like DS most days....she definitely has saved him from himself.
Well Hubs wants to go to Natchitoches this weekend. DSD1 is on the Dance team this year and he wants us to go see her .....it may do us a world of good to get out of town and if we visit a few coffee shops we can "Write off" the trip.
Hugs to all
Mary
Morning,
Will do you and Lance 50the world of good getting away..the other day you mentioned future dil, did son get engaged? That is a long time in the hospital, are you seeing improvement?
This week I will take my camera and go to the cafe and take photo's, it's an adorable place to go..you might get an idea or two.
Clean up almost done
Today is stay in Jammie day, looking forward to it
Mary it was teasing me for the good, my mom was in fine form..
Lots of digs but the few that stay to mind are..
. Coming upstairs after supper aunt Muriel (she is a dear) saw the pile of quilts in the corner, asked who they were for and I told her, she especially loved the black/white one and I said it was Melanie's...right away she says how I can take time to make for everyone and she gets nothing's, wasn't a joke, she was serious
Then we came upstairs all sitting chatting, mom asked about SIL Marg' Robert my BIL said not well..mom said she should have no $$ problems.,Robert went on to say the millions her hubby left her was spent on her kids who took everything from her...mom speaks up and starts her sermon on kids, her kids can't even be bother calling her, couldn't care less if she is dead or alive then went on to say she and Jim are going to lawyers, everything is going to "dog shelters" they at least gave them joy..ok at this point I really don't care, their money, do what they want with it I really don't care
Said how I'm always helping people, even offering my home but when it comes to her wouldn't even offer her to stay a months should she be looking for seniors home
.now comes where I lost it..
She said, 'none of my kids do a thing for me, they will do for everyone else but not me'
Here is me, working 2 days straight doing 3 carryall tote bags' having repaired the stained glass lamp that I had made her and it got broken, for what? Because she asked me to..
The kids just looked at me when I said well you can just kiss my $&@ me who takes time to do whatever you ask?? Named things I've done just in past several months..Jeff was sitting on the couch where she was sitting, he and I locked eyes, he kept winking and giving slight nod from time to time
Then she says. ' she is going to Florida to drive Darlene ' likely spend all her money then will have to tell me she can't take me to Buffalo....
Shortly after, Jim said it was time to go
We always have fun kibitzing about pies and their favorites "oops missed cherry" I always take it for play..end of day, boys always take pies home..that is why I make them
She was in the drive going to her car and she says to Melanie and Julie who she thinks I spoil too much, you'll have lots of pie to take home, she didn't offer me any to take!
I almost said what a negatinpve and unappreciative person she is, a tongue that cuts right through you, shows no love to anyone, why on earth would we want to make daily calls...
That was another thing, Jeff and the boys were playing, she let out a scream that they would break something, I said 'nothing valuable here that I can't replace..no big deal..boys young and old are the same, like to play and I enjoy seeing the love in their families.
But I did enjoy my family day, loved that Robert and Lorraine came, roger's brother and wife and all my boys..heartwarming to sit and talk to Jeff's boys about their schooling, friends
Well best finish tidying up now that I vented.
Remind me that I'm NOT going to agree to take Sharon's mom to Buffalo anytime soon...that a guilt trip won't pressure me into going
Sorry guys, just darn mad
I don't blame you at all Betty. I would be fuming too. And of course you can come here and rant. We all do at times and she gives you more cause than most!!!! It would be a long time before I invite her for anything again. And when she wants to know why, tell her she better be sure she wants to know the answer.....I feel so bad for Jim. He must have the patience of a saint.
I had a good day yesterday. Posted on sewing thread but may copy to bring here.
Hope your Thanksgiving dinner has been a great one Betty, Susan and any other Canadians on here.
Today Norm and I went back to Hillsborough for the annual Wool Arts Tour. Several farms in the area play host to other farms that raise sheep and alpacas. The tour has five different places with anywhere from three to seven or eight vendors at each one. One of the sites is the farm where Brandon has done all his riding. The quilts I made for him were on disiplay for the raffle to be held Dec. 1. There is so much to see and learn. There is wool directly from the sheep to hand processed and dyed. And of course all the items that are knitted, crocheted, woven etc. I was fortunate to be gifted with a beautiful shawl made by the sister of the owner there. It was a thank you for some things I passed on to the owner when we moved that could be used there. I just love it. And then I found some great cuff warmers. With my oxygen levels bouncing around all the time, I have a tendency to get cold quickly and these are going to be great!!!
Then we went and picked up Sean and took him to a nearby town for their Fall Festival Parade. Brandon was marching in it with the high school band and since he is a senior this year, I really wanted to be there. He is the young man with the red trombone toward the back..I think there is only one more parade for him... Then it was take Sean home and head for home ourselves. A busy day but a lot of fun...

Just finished vacuuming and washing floor upstairs, having coffee and coconut cream pie, feet up and feeling good that there is hardly a sign of a cyclone passing through yesterday.
I made the carryall tote bag for Mae yesterday , changed where the handles went so that she can hang it on her wheelchair..dDarlene is going in this morning and will drop in to pick it up.
Hope I get another burst of energ to tidy up the craft room
Keep forgetting it is not a long weekend for you all
HAPPY COLUMBUS DAY to all in the US ^_^
Love all the pics, beautiful ..
Betty, I really am speechless re your Mom .. but, can remember mine being the same at times .. one Thanksgiving there were about 20 of us at my brothers for dinner, my Mom was seated next to my sister in laws Mom .. the kids referred to my Mom as 'Gramma', they called the other Gramma 'Nanny' .. for some reason my Mom took great exception to that, and, near the end of a beautiful meal, my Mom says, Hmmmmm everytime the kids call you 'Nanny', I think of a Nanny Goat !!! Dead silence .. no one knew where to look or what to say, my brother (bless him) kept right on talking about something else while everyone regained their composure. I NEVER pressed my Mom as to why she would say that, but, I think there was a bit of a rivalry between Nanny and my Mom ..
I did way too much yesterday, and, today I am paying for it .. feel just crummy.
Enjoy your day .. be safe ..

Guess I'm not the only one with a mom similar to mine!
Sun is out, looking outside as I lay on the couch, what is left of the leaves a golden yellow
Drats phone rang it's mom, thanking me for a lovely day
Talking ever so softly
Big sigh
It is a federal holiday for us here. Columbus day.
Happy Columbus Day, forgot about that
So what special are you all up to
Just relaxing today. Too wet and muddy to do anything outside.
Great way to pass a holiday day..right there with you
Been up since before dawn, look at the clock, not noon yet but I'm starving..think it's time to eat..might even make turkey soup..wouldn't need to much energy to do that
Oh My Debbie, would have loved to be on that drive. I should be an Aquarius, I'm so drawn to water and especially water falls.
Betty dear, so sorry your mom was a cross patch, mine was the same, she had a few favorites and never a good word to or about the rest of us. Made me so determined to never play favorites, I hope I haven't. It seemed nothing was ever enough for her. My poor dad had one good fun year after she was gone. Terrible to feel that way about someone especially your mom, but she never gave me a reason to feel any different.
I also think Karen that is why I never play favorites either..my kids got same to the pont Greg wouldn't open his Xmas gifts he would just watch Jeff and know he got same different color. Lol. Only in their teens did we keep on same budget for both but their likes changed so different gifts were given
As for grandchildren, saw the hurt when mom would buy for her special grandchildren and never mine so I make sure they also are treated same
Guess like you Karen got to set it aside but do better with our time here on earth.
Your kids/grandkids are lucky
It's what I do every year. figure out what I can spend divide it amongst them and have them give me a list to choose from. It's funny how often they will compare notes and choose the same thing. Like the year several of them asked for bean bag chairs, the next year the rest of them asked for them. I'm the lucky one.
I never understood why some buy gifts from some, and not others in the family! My Grandmother was that way. My Sister, the oldest i the family was Grandpas favorite, so she always got things for her Birthday but never any of the other kids. Mom and Dad finally told them it is not fair, if you buy for one you buy for all! We finally started getting things.
my kids are not fond her and she wonders why?? Sharon's son Bryan got it all and continues to do so now..her loss
Kids say it doesn't matter it as they grow you can see and hear that it really does.
If nothing else when I'm gone I hope they remember that all were treated same
Soup is cooking
Went and got my Christmas project books out, sitting here leafing through the pages...got to confirm our workshop project
Hubby's mother was the same, couldn't see my kids at all just his brothers kids. Guess who disappeared when the money did? Towards the end she got much more from my kids than she deserved.
Please keep my sister in your prayers. They are transferring her from the rehab nursing home to St. Mary's hospital. She has not been able to keep anything down so they are going to put a scope down her throat to see what is going on. She is pretty malnourished and not doing well.
So sorry to hear Linda, Sure hope they get to the bottom of the problem and set her to rights soon.((((((((((hugs)))))))))
Thanks Karen.
