Hey Mary it is so good to see you. Glad you are going to joining the Christmas Exchange. It might serve as a nice diversion from all the stress you are under. Do they replace the people who quit or just spread the work among those who are left in the trenches?
Going to take my book and go to bed. Course I have been saying that all day. Sweet dreams everyone.
Dianne
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?chat with friends old/new
Good morning everyone!
What wonderful news to wake up to Debbie. I'm so happy for your kids!!! And for you as hopefully this takes a lot of stress from your shoulders. I'm sure the cookies are long gone by now but I'm starting a line for your next baking day!!!! LOL
Betty, I'm really sorry about your Mom. Jim will get a workout running for her this time I'm afraid. Broken toes can be so painful. And then to deal with skin issue as well. I'm glad to hear nursing care comes for her.
And so great also to hear from Mary as well. Glad you are busy and that witchy is leaving you alone. I'm anxious to see pictures of your new venture and I'm sure it will be a great success.
Dianne, what a shame about the lack of help for the children. Even if they could just help the most serious or another 10% would be such a great stride forward.
Started a cross stitch pattern the other day of irises. It is a nice change from quilting for a while. I finished a table runner and a wheelchair lapghan this past week and I am giving my mind a rest. Xstitch is all planned for me - I just need to follow the pattern.....
Waving to all and hope today is a great one~~~~~~~
Morning everyone. It is a cool 55 this morning.
Mary it is good to hear your plans are coming together for you.
32F here right now .. furnace is coming on often .. BUT, to the east there is a beautiful pink/orange sky being back lit by a rising sun .. awesome !!
What amazing news all round.
Debbie you have gotta be pleased as punch with your kids, and, relieved as well!
Between you and Marion I wouldn't know which sweet treat to chose, probably one of each!
Mary .. keeping you FinL in my thoughts and prayers .. as well as you and your DH as you move towards the finish line ..
Almost ready to head off to Boreal. Betty, here's a link about it ..
http://www.ontarionature.org/discover/resources/PDFs/misc/bigwild.pdf
Hoping to see some Moose and Bear and maybe Lynx and/or Bobcats and wolves, course, that said, we'll probably see a tree full of Chickadees and that'll be IT LoL
Enjoy your day

We have checked and confirmed our family connection. How fun to discover a "cousin" on DG.
Back home again for a couple weeks at least. Going to LQS to see if I can get a name of someone to do the quilting for me on this baby quilt. Have to stop at Joann's for a batting too.
Really enjoying having DGS and Amelia here for a visit. Well gotta get unpacked and start the laundry. Have a good day all.

Ouch, what a headache
Had a bit of one today, went and boughts meds, sat quietly after Paul left but ohhh it's full blown
Can't take stress or excitement I've come to realize
No sooner did I get home did Jerry, Rita's hubby and SIL come with trailer full of things..back she'd is packed as is the kitchen, will have to clean and reorganize this weekend
Felt so guilty, almost like a turncoat ..here I was friends with both of them then in moves Rita, I could see Jerry was a bit uneasy talking to me, I tried to keep it as light as I could..I still felt funny though, why is it you almost feel as tough you are taking sides, thus the headache.
Mary, meant to tell you Suzanne and I ate at the fresh cafe yesterday, Lordy, food was excellent..I thought about your place and smiled..they had old recycled seating but here and there amonst it was 2 padded sitting chairs, almost wrap arounds and glass table top between, bright orange, so comfy, made me feel right at home.
They are still at the house, he thought most would be done tonight, bit of clean up tomorrow then new owners take over Thursday.
Home again, home again, jiggety jag ^_^
Quite the day ... have pics to post ..
Sad to say i think we were a week late for the leaves, the major winds we have had have blown much of them away..the Tamaracks are just 'golding up'.
Gord got a load of birch firwood .. always needed, altho it'll take a year to season..visited many gravel pits looking for spent ammunition , saw a Fox and a Lynx, but, pics from the truck would have been blurry ..
My hip is NOT happy with me.
So.. the pics .. Lorna in orange, I am in Limeand Gord is the guy and the dogs are white and POOPED out right now ..
Betty, are you on blood pressure meds ?
HUGS to all

Love the pictures. Looks like you had a good time.
Oh it is the babies!!! I bet they loved being out there and playing! Looks like such a fun time.
I am fighting to stay awake. Tried to stay off computer today and get things done....I stayed off but didn't accomplish much! LOL
Made a big pot of potato/ham & cheese soup, was soooo good and enough for lunch this week.
Sweet dreams all...
Debbie
Hello To All;
Dianne... They don't give accounts out because that means more income for us LOL.... they save them for the next victim.... I can't imagine how many witchy is handling now because they don't want to give them away.
What book are you reading now?
Barb I used to cross stitch too .... glad you all are doing well...
I have so enjoyed Santa Warren pressies and giving these last 2 years.....
LK 55*....wow you all were cooler than we were....
Bet Luna is loving this weather.... Belle has an extra pep in her step
Marilyn Thanks for the wishes for FIL.....feel a bit guilty I have not been there since Friday but he has had a steady round of visitors so I'll go up maybe thursday or Friday. What a beautiful sunrise
Betty glad you thought about us with the Fresh Cafe...
Lance and I are meeting tomorrow with New Orleans owner Katrina, Chef Mia. Things may hopefully go a bit faster now Hubs is not "employed" officially. He is staining our 35 chairs and trying to get 20 done before opening. They are turning out nice. He and Betty (and most of ya'll) would be 2 peas in a pod if together with their artistic abilities... We bought used tables from a closing restaurant and he has painted one ....it looks like a marble table. I MUST post you artistic gals a pic.
Hugs to all
Mary
Would sure love to see that!!! Good luck with this new venture Mary. I'm sure it will be successful if working hard is what it takes. The two of you have been going nonstop!!!!
Great pictures "M".
Betty how is Mom doing. Are the toes doing any better? And the skin?
Morning everyone.
Mary sending lots of prayers for FIL too. How much longer will he be in the hospital?
Make sure you coat those tables with polyurethane.
Betty you said Alexander is going home. How is Alexandria doing? Will either of them have any disabilities?
they say that not until they start using motor skills and growth patterns will they know to what extend Addy will be disabled.
Haven't talked to Ann but she did think Alex would need help with air intake
On phone with mom re Jim's results yesterday
Sunny and chilly today .. not sure what's up .. i do know I did a bit too much yesterday .. stiff today ..
Glad to hear Alexander may be going home, sounds like he"ll be on oxygen though, and poor Addy is still fighting ... prayers go out to them and the family daily .. they have an uphill climb on their hands.
Mary, I bet the chairs and tables look wonderful .. good luck with visit to your F in L I doubt he's ever alone for very long.
Betty, if your Mon's toes are broken, all that can be done is to tape them so they don't move .. do hope she'd feeling better though.
Hmmm .. has Katie made it home yet ?
Best get at it, whatever IT is going to be ^_^

Betty, what is wrong with Jim?
Chilly morning here, but sunshine is out and I am enjoying that at least.
Having my first cup of coffee....with my last cookie! LOL
Have a wonderful day
Debbie, Jim just had an array of tests..found that on his kidney he has 1 growth as large as a grape and 1 as large as a plum..diverticulitis (?)..gave him the results but didn't say he needed surgery, says he's in a tremendous amount of pain and believe me Jim is not a complainer..first time I heard mom say she'd move to the cottage but said Jim doesn't want to put house up until January.
Said she and Jim are coming for Thanksgiving if all goes well and wondered if I would invite Aunt Muriel..she will be going home Thursday, operation went well, yet another scheduled for beginning of next year..
think we will be 18 for Thanksgiving dinner
Last night Rita broke down..she and her hubby hugged and said goodbye...after 18 years it's hard
today will be her last day at her house, she's going just to say goodbye..tonight will be hard for her
I have to go through kitchen cupboards..she brought boxes/boxes food
big sigh
Betty, diverticulitis is in the intestines or colon not on the kidney. He may want to go back get a second opinion. And yes diverticulitis can be very painful. When it flares up that means he has an infection and he needs antibiotics. Mine flared up a few months ago and it took three separate antibiotics to clear it up. I was in severe pain for 3 weeks.
two separate issues LindaKay..he's had diverticulitis for a decade, watches his diet but it's flared up again.
Sorry to hear he is in so much pain.
Hello All,
Hope you are all well and life is fairly calm. A friend sent me this and I thought you could all relate....GRIN
Strange Quotes about Cats & Teenagers:
For all of you with teenagers or who had teenagers, you may want to know why they really have a lot in common with cats:
1. Neither teenagers nor cats turn their heads when you call them by name.
2. No matter what you do for them, it is not enough. Indeed, all humane efforts are barely adequate to compensate for the privilege of waiting on them hand and foot.
3. You rarely see a cat walking outside of the house with an adult human being, and it can be safely said that no teenager in his or her right mind wants to be seen in public with his or her parents.
4. Cats and teenagers can lie on the living-room sofa for hours on end without moving, barely breathing.
5. Cats have nine lives. Teenagers carry on as if they did.
Thunder and LK....The Golden Lycoris is blooming here...hope your plants are also.
Those are beautiful. I planted the bulbs you sent in my raised garden. I have not seen any growth from them yet. Still hoping to see something.
Hiya ..
Betty, I hope Jim clears up the info he got re the kidney versus his bowel .. hate phone calls re tests, face to face is so much better ..
Good luck with the 18 for dinner, i think I'd go hide in the garage, 7 is enough for me thanks ..
Loved the quotes re Cats and teenagers ^_^
Went for a bit of 'down time' today at one of the cities scenic lookouts. The houses across from it are gorgeous, and, one of them had a Hallowe'en display that was so awesome, walked over and took a pic or 2 .. I'd post2 pics, but one is really all that's needed..
Off to put supper together ... got up to 70F here today, just glorious!

That is a big cat!
Jim got the results at the doctor's office..lordy they've had that doctor so long that I don't know why he isn't taking calls from a seniors home..he should have retired ions ago.
Jean, how are you doing..so nice to see the photo's and just love your cat/teen posting..going to print it off and give it to the family..
Kyle just left, had an hour between class so came and spent the hour with me.
"M" nice you getting out while the weather is nice and color to see..wow, yep, that is one heck of a big cat
Keep thinking of all the work I have to do this weekend..need to put everything away for the winter, what a chore..reminds me, need to go to Timbrr Mart and get a roll of heavy plastic for the back deck, time to close her in
Betty did you get your witchy poo done?
The 5' wood one or the twister??
Easy answer, neither!
Our scanner/printer/fax was down for a week, new one came in..thought Paul would come nstall seeing I'm absolutely at a loss when it comes to technology..I emailed him early this morning, his reply, easy to do, try it!
Well it wasn't the machine at all, was the phone line..of course I moved my desk, 2 sections to it to get being it to the phone lines, long story short got it working bit I'm paying for it..
Rita has made an area downstairs as her work is done at home..can hear her gabbing so won't go down
Off to make hot tea, take pan meds and try to drum up some energy once meds kick in to go downstairs and work for awhile..
Friday working from home got to do a clean up so we can find room for Rita's 4 boxes of goodies
What I should be doing is putting away all garden art and lawn furniture but not today
Sure hooe you are all much better at getting things done than I
Mary, here is hoping FIL has had a good day .. Just think soon you will be open and I can see you flittering around offering testing samples. Lol..need to see photo's of the reno's
Morning everyone!
Betty sounds like your going to be busy this weekend.
G'day ^_^
Hope you're feeling better today Betty.
Linda Kay, how's your sister making out? Hope she's a bit better.
Marion, is there any TARGET date for opening the shop? Best of luck ..
Going into town today to do a bit of shopping .. we have hit 70F and sunny the last 3 days, amazing, better than summer was.
Let the danged cat out at 7am and he has yet to show up back home .. at 19yrs old, that worries me, even if he does act like a kitten !
Have a bonnie wee day :-)

He just popped into the window .......
Kathy is out of bed several times a day working with physical therapy people. She can take a few steps using a walker. Dr.'s found that she has a stress fracture in her tailbone. No surgery needed yet. She said time will heal it.
Sure hope your cat comes back home.
M, Mary is opening the shop...confusing with Mary and Marion.
Lovely and cool here this morning. So tempting to go outside to work but need to keep throwing things out as my crafting area is getting closer to be ready for me to occupy. Can you say: Celebration time!!!!
Great news about Kathy LindaKay, she will just have to do as doctor says and heal a bit at a time..
Marion, ohhh you will so love being out of the dungeon and into a bright room, you may never want to leave it..
Ann just called with an update:
Alex:
Thought he was going home but he has a reflux, can't control amounth of fod in his mouth then chockes..had a near call the other day as he holds his breath and that creates major issues.
They want Melissa to spend 24 hours in a room with Alex and tend to him to see how both manage
Then as he needs to be in a car seat they will do their 'car seat test' which means he spends 4 hrs in a car seat, monitored every 15 minutes to see how he will do
so where they thought he was going home the other day then thought this weekend for Thanksgiving he will not.
Addy
Needed to do an MRI on Sunday, seeing she moves too much they sedated her, still moving, sedated her again..all of a sudden no body temp, hypothermia and they didn't have a warming unit to compensate should it happen..almost lost her!
She spoke with the nurse who almost made it sound like it was Addy's fault..imagine
Therapist that comes to see Melissa from time to time to check on her and the baby told Melissa
'you do know Addy is over the edge looking over this side and for how long we don't know'
wanted to prepare Melissa
drats and more drats
I am still alive. Doctor put me on steroids to get rid of my cough. Well steroids make me manic. I worked on our master bedroom and our closet for 4 days at about 6 hours a day.
Then my son, Todd, wife Heather and their 3 year old Luke visited for a week. Todd is an internist doctor in Spokane. He was here for a conference and golf in the sun. We were in the mid 80s and the weather was beautiful.
DH, Vern, had eye lid surgery on Tuesday. Basil cell cancer in the lower eye lid near the nose. Appointment took 5 hours. They take, what they think is all of the cancer, then do a biopsy and you wait for results. Then they had to slice some more. Only had to cut twice. Some times it is deeper and they cut up to 8 times. There is an hour wait between each cut to see if they got it all. Saturday, he goes to the hospital, as an out patient, for plastic surgery to put the eye lid back together. They did not touch the tear duct and that was their main worry.
My cat Izzy has been missing 9 days. She always went on the walk with the dogs and I. Friday, a week ago, she stopped at the park to play with a little girl. They last saw her at the mil box area which is two houses away from our home. We think she was napped because she is such a unique cat. She runs and plays with the children of the neighborhood at the park and the dogs. She used the doggy door to enter or leave the house. She has a chip but so far no information. I am heart broken because I love this cat. I just hope if she is with another family, she is being treated good. Looking for her on the websites, I could not believe how many cats are found. She is a Calico and very mellow.
You guys are all moving in the right direction. October in the Southwest is a very busy gardening time. That is when you plant your spring flowers. So my helper is here and we are emptying the the planters, mixing the existing soil with conditioners and perlite and then refilling and replanting.
So happy the babies are doing better and your grandson is currently back on track.
We are having a cold spell. High today will be 63 with a low of 58. Rained last night and snow in the mountains.
Hugs, to you all, Las Vegas Sharon
Cross post. Not good news on Addy.
Sharon, mega things going on in your life..lordy emotions must have been running high!
Nice that you got time to spend with your family..bet Luke got spoilt
Bet you are frantic about DH..here's hoping they got it all
What a loss, how can people be so cruel but to take someones loved furry..guess it's better thinking that then the alternative..sometimes cats go missing for quite some time then come back, here is hoping that's the case
Our temps Dianne is much like yours right now..no planting for me..wonder if on Thanksgiving day Sunday I could ask each to bring a rake lol
