Kyle came for lunch today, sent him for pizza
worked hard at making totes, not hard enough as I only got 4 of the 5 inside sections done
all yellow/black/white..sure are nice

what did you all get up to today?

Sharon is at my house anxious to finish her quilt top re American Eskimo Inuk and trainer on it..she's thinking if I'm a good girl I'll get it quilted while she is at the house tomorrow and she can take it home

guess if I don't sleep tonight I can finish it lol

Been lazy here. No sewing today. I have some placemats cut out need to get them finished for a swap.

Sharon, I hear you re the steroids, lordie, I was sleepless in Thunder Bay for several weeks while on them, altho, they worked.
Hope all turns out well with DH ..
I tend to think Izzy weent on a wee 'cat trek' .. she'll be back, fingers crossed on that.

Went shopping today, basically groceries and toiletries .. could have gone on for another 4 hours I'm sure, but, I know I'd pay for it tomorrow, and, I have things to do that day too ..

Bought my FIRST Christmas 'thingy' today at SHoppers Drugmart .. a snowman filled with handsoap that plays Jingle Bells and lights up when you push on the dispenser LoL ..

Best get the fish in the oven, won't cook itself that's for sure..

Finished up a table cover from left overs of a tree skirt. It's one of the wedge ones. When you cut the wedges, you get smaller wedges that go together for either a table top tree skirt or a table center piece. It's a freebie since it is from scrap pieces. Measures 36" where the tree skirt is 60" I don't have the binding on in the photo.

Spent 2 hours with FIL today so MIL could get her hair did.....and they had a cover over the trach so he could talk and it was wonderful

We bought 35 chairs for $5 each - they came from an old library. We bought orange/brown tables from a local "Fox and Hound" bar for next to nothing....

Hubs is sanding and repainting / restaining and here is what he has done..... I am proud of him.

Our floors in the shop will be dark brown stained concrete.....

Sharon JUST now finished her quilt top..I sure wanted to call it a night a few hours ago but she told me it would do me good to stay up till midnight..not!

I so love what your hubby has done Mary. Great job and your place will look so fresh and new. I love the colors. Are you putting that bead board up on part of the walls? It is going to look fantastic.

Meant to add that Sharon would most likely keep you up until 3AM Betty if it meant she could have the quilt now!!!! Can't wait to see it so please get pictures. I got my Thoughts of You box yesterday and will be posting pictures today. It was from Judy and she went crazy!!!!

Well, unfortunately, I was correct re Lorna's bloodwork :-(
Her blood is way too thin, ergo, the bruising. NOW, there's a great long story I could tell ya re this INR /heart clinic, suffice to say, it has undergone some management as well as staff changes which are causing problems. I do NOT like any of it and, if on the 21st Lorna's INR is not lower, we will be taking it up with her hematologist (blood doctor) and having him look after it instead of this clinic.

Am about to make a call to an old friend I haven't spoken to in YEARS, at least 15 .. she is in town from out west to visit her Mom who is not well I take it.
'Barbie' and I were kind of an inseperable pair when we were about 8-10/11 years old. She then moved and we lost contact, regained it a few times, and, I think this will be my Thanksgiving gift ^_^

Lost a post, drats

Can't believe I'm dropping in for a quick hand it's evening..Sharon went home with her quilt at 4:30pm, think she was thrilled with her piece

I sat to have a pop and looked near entrance door and saw the5 boxes Rita had re misc food, non refrigerated items and boxes of cleaning supplies..because I let some house cleaning go this week with Rita moving in, finishing project commitments etc I didn't stay sitting for long..cleaned all the kitchen cupboards, refrigerator etc.

Taking a quick sec to rest then it'd vacuum and wash floors..Rita dusted and cleaned the washroom..

Need to make a list of what I need to make pies and what I need for Thansgiving dinner so I can be shopping at 7am..pie making day tomorrow.

Just know before I head to bed tonight one more trip to clean my craft room will be necessary..if I don't I'll not rest. Lol

"M" glad you are getting to chat with your childhood friend, would make the weekend special..a big something to be thankful for.

Terrible situation the way Lorna is being treated..drats that could mean her life if it isn't lookd after..shaking my head!

Betty what did I miss? Rita is moving in? Thanks for the kind comments... I have said this before once you meet Hubby I'll just have to go away cuz you are 2 peas in a pod.... with your creativeness. I'm hoping the first week of November but I'm hearing it's hard to say due to inspections, etc.

Barb Thanks so much ! Those white boards are cabinets at the shop but that was a great guess because hubs is planning to put up wainscot ....trying for a natural wood for that.

Long day.... but a good one... had a reunion of sorts with old radio co-workers....this was a young group but it was good to see everyone....I left early and still feel like I stayed out too late (8:30 LOL)

yes Mary, Rita and Gerry have been trying to make things work but difficult times..house sold, he moved to their place in Brechin on the water and she moved in with me..only temp..just a safe haven for a bit

quick run to the store, forgot a few spices for pumpkin pie..hoping by noon to be finished with pies and relaxing..we'll see

ok now, I'm the one with are zillion things to do for Thansgiving..you all are toooo quiet..lol

pies done, didn't burn them, just had 4 people call and say they can come tomorrow who thought they couldn't, thank goodness I bought 2 turkeys and a ham..

Finished on plan,by noon all 10 pies were made..
just came downstairs to sew on the tote bags and Darlene dropped in..gave her a set of mushrooms for her new place..booked flight from Ft. Myers to Toronto, can't believe I leave a week Friday to take her down.

She asked if I could make her mom a tote bag, NOT knowing I was already making 5, but that is ok..also brought another pair of pants to shorten for her.

so here are the 5 totes, I've turned them inside out to show you pretty colors..all the same but different..now for the part that will be on the outside..best I get busy

Invited to go to Suzanne's for supper..we shall have to see..need 3 totes for Jim to take home tomorrow

Betty, I got pies done today as well .. tomorrow is turkey day here ..

Met with my childhood bud, lotd of laughs and tears too .. her 21 yr old daughter, Heather, was killed by a drunk driver 15 years ago, yesterday was the anniversary .. I had completely forgotten.
She has 2 sons, one of who named his first daughter, Heather.
Anyway.. she and her hubby are staying with her sister while here, so, I invited them all for dinner .. just Barboe and her hubby came. Betty, you'd love Mike, he's an artist fro Ducks Unlimited, does beautiful work ..

Anyway .. just wanted to say hi, love th totes, and I hope I can recharge my batteries to take on tomorrow !!!

Hubby is spending the night with FIL at the hospital so MIL can have a rare night at home and go to church in the morning.. I had a Disney night with son and DIL to be. we watched Little Mermaid and had sushi.

I am staying up too late and will probably regret it..

Arianna, Suzanne's grandaughter, just turned 5 is just too much fun..aren't kids honest?

We were talking about kids and grownups, I asked her if I could be considered a kid, she looked at me and said 'no, you aren't a kid or grownup you are just old..lol

I so want to stay in bed and sleep a few more hours but mind won't shut off , might just have to get up, get what needs to be done then have a nap, be fresh for when company arrives

So quiet this time of day..worth getting up early, can get all done in a relaxing way!!

Rolls are rising, ham in slow cooker, turkeys shortly to go in the oven..

Proud of myself, made a time schedule of what needs to be done when,mknow if I can keep the schedule I will be able to sit and enjoy my company.

Bet the Canadian gals will soon be getting up if not already up.

Speaking of Canadian gals, Barb do you still gab with Thea, wonder how she is doing??
