Coffee break #98

Thomaston, CT

The economy is tough, Sherrie, hang in there. I would think Obamacare would help you...no? I'm not involved because I have health insurance, but if my premium cost goes up, I won't be a happy camper.....

I love what I am doing working for this company. 10 or 15 hours a week is not paying what I need to do. I should not have to pay ObamaCare or the Healthcare.gov before I pay my property taxes and have a roof over my head.

Sherrie, I did not say or even think that you should not be taking your job search seriously. I just don't want you to feel that there is something personal to you necessarily if you don't get a particular job, as that can shake your confidence in yourself without any reason. I understand fully why you are so frustrated and hope you and jim both can find good jobs for the hard workers that you are. Hugs!

Anyone with better computer skills than I have (the whole world) give me some help please. goggle has co-oped my home page so it shows them instead of Dave's garden. Any advice on how to change it back?

Thomaston, CT

Sorry, Lucy....my skills are awful....I lost Free Cell from my main page...have to hunt for it now.....

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

I just keep it bookmarked. Each search engine, firefox, Google chrone etc. handles bookmarks differently. That's the only thing I know.

South Hamilton, MA

It's on my favorites list, but annoying to have to chase it when it used to come up automatically.

Thomaston, CT

My bookmark tab also bit the dust....have no idea how to get it back!

South Hamilton, MA

Is that 'favorites'? So far so good. I use Goggle for the sports news, so I hit 'Welcome home, irisMA first. but it is annoying that I have to do so.

Does everyone have a blank screen on the left for about a third or fourth of the screen? I keep hoping to see some progress here, but I guess it won't be happening. It sounds like there are tons of issues for people now. It's really too bad.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i have no problems

Thomaston, CT

I just have to shift left for every thread....my print is fine, photos are fine.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

I actually think they've fixed most of the problems. Photos are restored to the My Journal route into journals. I can search my plant journal. I am gradually reentering the 100 entries they lost during the unexpected format change because I discover them when I go to do an update. I can adjust print size as I wish to read threads and most of them stay inside the space given to them. Eventually I will like having ipad access when I finally buy one.

South Hamilton, MA

ok here now. I suppose blank area might be for ads which I don't see & would pay no attention to them if I did.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

I don't have any issues either. I got used to the white space a while ago.

Who would eat these? Me - YUCK. They will only be sold at Target is what I heard as a test run.

Tempting to me too, but not on my diet.

Me either. But then again everyone likes Chocolate

Thomaston, CT

I'm not sure I would like that combo.......I like my tater chips plain & simple......recently bought Starbuck's instant cocoa in the grocery store.....very good!

I love my potato chips with milk.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Now I like chocolate covered pretzels, so probably would like these, too.

Will have to look into that RD.

Thomaston, CT

It's like drinking a chocolate bar, Jan!

South Hamilton, MA

Now the print is smaller again. Readable but why?

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

really do not know what everyone's problem is - I have no issues

South Hamilton, MA

It is back to normal. Hope that it stays that way.

A little late to this, but I love chocolate covered chips, and make them at Christmas. Salty chocolate is the best!

Hi Deb! Happy to hear from you!

I still have a flip phone.....not into techie stuff.......

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

I have to admit that I really rely on my iphone for far more than its use as a phone. Apps now are unbelievable. My phone is my alarm, calculator, scanner, calendar, camera, flashlight, bill-paying vehicle on the road, book reader, address book, gps and internet access. I do prefer my ipad because larger is better for me with my vision issues, but i can't believe how multi-functional these devices have become.

South Hamilton, MA

Like Marilyn we have an old phone. I carry it while in the car for emergencies. I have no wish for a 'smart'. How's that for being old fashioned?

Thomaston, CT

My grandkids look at me strangely when I ask how their phones & tablets work.....oh, well, maybe I'll catch on one of these days!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

My husband doesn't even own a cell phone.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

signed up for another yr here although many have bolted to ATP.

many of topics seem to be women only at the ATP NE forum

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I haven't been there lately either

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

How do you change the font on the screen? I would gladly spend more time here if I could read the screen without squinting. It may be because the print is too small for me to see the font tab, but I truly get a headache when I try to read here. Right now I am using a magnifier with almost half of my screen blank space, and i am not seeing where I can enlarge the font. HELP.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

This might work CTRL + to make font bigger or CTRL - to reduce the size of the font. Each time you do this it will increase in size or decrease. But have no idea what you use for a computer etc. Patti

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Popping in here just to say "hi"
We are so super busy that I just don't have time to be on here or even on ATP. You can find me on FB though.
I haven't even any time to clean up the gardens, it's such a mess
We never did get our pool up
Got a new car
but other than just really busy with work and our church is moving to a new facility so I've been involved with that, seems time is just flying by

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

hi jen good to hear from you.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Nice to hear from you Jen.

I go into the settings on my computer to enlarge the icons and all, and when I use the menus for the print I sometimes use the Zoom feature, but control + and minus is pretty universal I believe. Any computer questions, a seventeen year-old knows the answer. I made a date with DD2 over Thanksgiving for her to show me all her iphone aps
