Our kids go 180 days......
Coffee break #98
Sorry I haven't been on here or the other threads for awhile, but the gardens are keeping me busy, plus work and other things. I just wanted you guys to know that I got let go from my job yesterday. I worked there for 11 years. Long story, and I well get on later and explain more. Right now I'm at the nursing home with Dad. He took a turn for the worse yesterday, and they feel he's on his way out. He's been getting hospice for about a month now. My youngest sister is coming to see him tonight. Our brother will probably come tomorrow morning. Our sister from Alaska is trying to get a flight for tomorrow. Dad's brother from Maine is coming with his wife tomorrow morning. Today is the anniversary of out Mom's passing in 2001. When out rains out pours, but it's also said that when one door closes, another one opens. I'm putting my faith in the Lord, as He knows what's best.
Karen
Dear, know that you and your family, especially your dad are in my prayers. Thankful that your faith is strong.
Keeping you in my prayers Karen (((♥♥♥)))
Prayers for you & your family. I hope they can connect for another time.
Praying for you and your family Karen
So sorry to hear Karen
Karen, I'm so sorry for your troubles......your Dad had a good life with you in it, know that! Praying for you & your family, & hope that a job will be found soon.
thank you everyone. sadly dad passed away last night at around 9:30, shortly after my sister left the nursing home. I truly believe that he wanted to go on the anniversary of his wife's passing. our sister from Alaska did not make it in time to see him. he passed away while she was on route. the odd thing about that is the same thing happened when Mom was passing on. don was on her way from Alaska to see her, and mom passed away before Dawn arrived.
we're having him cremated just like we did with Mom, and his ashes will be scattered in the same dalily bed where our mother's ashes were scattered. we're going to have a memorial service at the New Jerusalem Church in Bridgewater on Monday the 9th at 10 a.m.
as far as my job is concerned, I should have clarified that the one they let me go from was my primary job. I still have my PCA job, which is part time right now, but I can always get more hours and that job pays more, so I'm not totally out of a job. it's just that the circumstances under which they let me go. It's a lot to explain, but basically, what it boils down to, was there a lot of incidents that had to do with my ADD forgetfulness and lack of being able to concentrate properly. leave me alone for the last 5 years now that I was diagnosed with ADD, and I've had this problem with forget from us since I started with this company. what really makes me angry is that there are certain people in the company that have done much worse than I have, yep they're still working for the company is just nothing ever happened. I've been hearing a lot of crap lately about stuff like this. I'm going to be contacting a lawyer to see if I have a case against them for discrimination against me due to my disability.
Karen
Sorry about your father's death, Karen. Your sister may have arrived late for your Dad, but she is there to help out & comfort both of you.
Karen, I'm truly sorry.....Ted was a very nice man, & I'm glad I had the chance to meet him several times.....You're right about his passing....it seems he held on just long enough.......truly you have to believe it was meant. Glad this was not your only job, & yes, you should see a lawyer, even if it's for compensation & not a return to the job.
sorry to hear about your dad. Hugs to all.
Karen, your and your family have my sympathy and prayers. I know how much you loved your father and will miss him, but it's great to know that your faith will give you the strength to handle things. All the best as you decide the best action regarding your job, also. As the workforce ages, employers are going to have to accept forgetting and be responsible for having redundancy in their systems regardless of any formal disabilities.
Karen sorry to hear about your current situation and your Dad's passing.
So sorry for your loss
good that your pt job will give you more hours
Karen my deepest sympathies to you and your family. I always enjoyed the pics of him and Patches, he always looked so happy in them.
So sorry to hear this, Karen. I haven't been here for awhile, but glad I checked in to let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Your Dad was so fortunate to have you, and he was a very sweet man. I'm wishing you all the best with a new job that works better for you, and sending hugs your way.
Wonderful!
How nice to have a new baby in the family.......gives everyone hope & renewal.....
Aww!
Lovely. It will be about 6 months until they get into each other's toys.
Been a sad couple of days here and more to come. A friend of ours and my boys was murdered, been on the news, some of you may have seen it. Found his body in the river with head, arms and legs missing. Frank and his brother worked for us for some time when we had the pizza shop. My boys are devastated, a hard one to handle and accept. I wouldn't mind a few prayers for the family and my boys too.
that is shocking and terrible Ronnie!
Poor man. there re so many evil people in the world.
oh so so sorry Ronnie
how horrible, prayers for you and the family
How awful, Ronnie! Peace for your family.......
Welcome to earth, Annabelle Elizabeth!
Sorry about the horrible murder of Ronnie's friend! I am praying for peace.
Thanks Louise, they are doing well. Yesterday there was a gathering at the baseball field where the guys used to hang out for a life celebration. If I can say it was a "perfect" day I will.
Lots of love and good stories and memories for them. It really was a "celebration" of love. I'm so proud of them for being such a good supportive friend to Frank's brother Mike.
It speaks a lot about their parents, Ronnie. So, so sad to have to deal with such horror so young. Having a good home will keep them centered. Hugs!
Thank you again!
Victor asked me to say hello to all of his DG friends!
Is he okay?
agree with the question.
Went to check a noise outside, something in the down spout...I banged on it, out shot a chipmunk like it was shot from a cannon...LOL so funny!!!!!!!
Miss Victor's humor......did he quit this site?
I don't think he quit DG, some more family stuff going on, I'm sure he would appreciate you keeping them in your prayers.
