Betty, thank Rita for me. I so hope I get to see you all on your trip.

Before I forget again, Debbie, I meant to say how much Shannon looks like you! Glad she's feeling some better. The kids all look great.

Raining once again. At this rate the weeds will take over ALL the gardens. We've had so much with more coming at us that Bill says I need to go drain some of the water off the pond. I don't want to go out in it. It's POURING!

Ric and Robyn were supposed to come today, but I'm betting it's another cancel because the rain looks like it will last all day by the radar I saw. Sigh.....oh well, we'll meet up sometime. Certainly is enough inside stuff I should be doing!

Betty, I'm not at all surprised you got all that sewing done. Talk about a whirlwind! That's YOU!

Hope you're all having a lovely Saturday!

Victoria Harbour, ON

morning all,

Sunshine day here, bet Darlene is pleased seeing the celebration of Life for her dad is this afternoon at 2:00pm.

Judy, you will ace the test, not to fret! You've been out of work force for a bit so you are bound to be overwhelmed.

Good luck today Mary, hope all works in your favor!

Ready to head to town, not sure why I am going but I'm going! Going to walk the main street of Midland and do the shops, mellow out.

In the last 10 minutes I've had bad 2 calls with not so good news

Suzanne's grandaughter was rushed to midland the Orillia late last night re seizures..at one point she stopped breathing and they had to do a produce endure..only turned 1 on mothers day. Then Linda called, was cooking, didn't pay attention her blouse caught on fire, blouse and bra on fire as she took it off, boob badly burnt..know things come in 3's, not looking forward to #3.

hope it's as lovely in your neck of the woods as it is here

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Geessh Betty, so sorry to hear the sad news! Sure hope there is not a number 3!

Judy, you can do that test with your eyes closed!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good Morning.

Mary....afraid you have a plant quite contrary. You might get Betty's lupines to grow if you start your seeds in the ground in October....they may bloom for you in March. But, Betty's lupines and most lupines in general will not take our heat. The only lupine I have seen thrive here is the Texas Bluebonnet. here is some info for you.

http://davesgarden.com/guides/articles/view/700/

Judy...deep breaths girl....you are gonna do just fine. You know how to do this job...just relax and get the Staples policy info down and it will be clear sailing. (((HUGS)))

Hope everyone is feeling better and enjoying their weekend.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Not good news indeed Betty. Hope all are doing much better.

I will not comment on the weather here afraid I might jeopardize the day. Unfortunately I have looked at radar so I will just enjoy this bright object while it is out. :-)

Mary, I call it polka dot plant and I love the stuff. Had a large growth of it on my lot in Gainesville, filled in as was a very pretty ground cover in the shaded area along the fence.....haven't been as lucky here getting it to grow. I would think it would be fine so maybe I am doing something wrong.

Took a walk around the yard this morning checking things out since the heavy rains. Not happy with containers I used Miracle Gro potting soil in....the particles to hold water swelled so big they have come up over the sides and my plants are falling out.....errrrgh! Guess I have some work cut out for me redoing some.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

STOP to '3 in a row' of bad things happening Betty ..
Gosh, makes me think re Linda and the blouse burning .. I know ever since we got a GAS range, I have got to watch how close to the range I stand when I am cooking .. the radiant heat has brought me up short a couple of times .. I just don't want to have what happened to Linda happen to me or, anyone else!!
I once pinched my left boob a roo in the cap of a PAM spray container while putting the lid back on the can, was holding it to my chest to make sure it was a secure fit, and, the dang thing BIT ME !!!
Did I have a bruise !!!

Poor Suzanne .. surely hope the little one is OK, such a worry.

It's thick as 'pea soup' outside already .. MAJOR humidity, you'd think being so near to Lake Superior we'd never have to put up with that .. trouble is, I'm about 30 miles west of that big old lake ..
But, as Ontario doesn't get that much heat and humidity, we'll just crank up the air and sit tight.

Hubby's BDay today, have ordered in Chinese Food, there'll be about 10 of us .. take or leave a couple, as well as 'drop byes' in the later afternoon.

LUPINES .. our ditches here are resplendant with them, purples, pinks, whites .. but. NOWAY will they grow for me on the property .. they seem to like to stay where they are .. have tried full flower transplanting, and seeding, to no avail ..if it works for ya .. BONUS !!

Judy .. I'll keep you in my thoughts re the 'tests'. I mentor University nursing students, usually in their 2nd year .. everytime they show me one of their TESTS my blood runs cold .. gawd, how can they possibly REMEMBER all that info. Truth be told, nursing is 40% book and 60% hands on if not more for learning.

Blue Bonnets .. one of DH fave singers is Nancy Griffin (I think), and she sings a song about Blue Bonnets, very very pretty .. I'm still hanging on kicking and scraming to the Eagles and CCR as well as the Beatles !!

Guess I SHOULD try and rearrange some dust bunnies, funny the different perspective you get when you're in a wchair .. Lorna has already spruced the house up so nicely .. dishes and laundry done and put away .. I am SPOILED !!
Once I get my new hip I sure do owe DH and her BIGTIME !!!!

SALUTE Ladies
Enjoy your day
Stay safe

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

Holy wham so hot, humid, no air, walking in Midland for the time I was there thought to myself, home you go girl...will be a hot one at Darlene's this aft.

Greg dropped in just before I left, he was off to meet Jeff in Orr Lake for a golf game, nice to see them take time to spend with each other..knew I should have taken up golf, could have joined them. Lol

Greg said when his boss was at the scratch and dent sale for companies, he picked up an A/C unit to the furnace for me, they Re super busy right now but will have it installed when available..Greg says I can't beat the price, good news to me.

Suzanne sent me a photo of the little one, tubes all over the place, was going to post but picture wouldn't save into photo's, I must be doing something incorrectly.

Marion, you are one step ahead of me, my planters have no flowers, first it was late spring, them so much rain, Lordy if I wait much longer will wait until next year. Let's hope you keep the sunshine.

Anyone have photo of the polka dot flower??

Wish Gord a happy birthday "M"' as for owing he and Lorna, think its they who are doing the payback..what a champ you were to help Lorna so through her recovery after having the amputation.

Joyce, sorry you've now got the rain..you can do with resting indoors. Does Ric work? Perhaps he can visit Monday? Isn't he only less than an hour away?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Prayers for those who were on Boeing 777 in San Francisco.. Haven't given specifics yet..eye witness saying landing gear came out too soon... Sure hope many survivors! 307 in total on the plane, hmmm keep referring passengers on board giving their description of what happened, can only hope

Art''s Celebration of lLife was wonderful. Got to see many friends, a lot neighbors on the lake where I lived.. Family had the tie quilt I made for Mae on display, I was touched.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, we are just now seeing the crash on the news. I have heard 2 dead at least 61 injured, some critically.

Glad to hear you had a nice visit Betty. Just shows that your quilting is much appreciated!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Haven't heard about those deaths LindaKay, know 10 are in critical condition in hospital, don't know how there could not be deaths. Tragic for sure.

Laying on the couch, humidity does me in, really should do something and not waste the rest of day but I'm thinking I will not.

Verona, ON

Betty I just heard on the neews there was a major train wreck in Quebec early this morning. Explosions and fire followed the wreck.

Have myself holed up inside with the ac cranked up. This heat intensifies my dizzy spells and if I don't have one if I get too hot being too warm can actually bring one on. I never thought I would be one of those people who would prefer to be inside with the ac than outside. It looks like rain is back tomorrow.

Ooops gotta go, someone is knocking at the door. Now that is a rare occurrence way down here.

Stay cool everyone.
Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Did hear Dianne about the derailment in Quebec, was about to doze off when they were giving the briefing so might have heard wrong, did they say no one driving the tain? Couldn't be.

I would imagine temps do play a part in your dizzies, smart lady being inside.

Off to cup heck our weather

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I saw about the train wreck this morning..and the airplane. No more please.

I so understand about the humidity....I took some trash out and walked to the mailbox...boy was I wet and breathing hard. It is just so close and yes, more rain today.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Quite a tragedy this train wreck

http://www.ottawacitizen.com/news/canada/Quebec+train+derailment+fire+explosion+leaves+some+people/8625470/story.html

Doesn't sound like many aren't in for rain tomorrow.

Was to have Linda drop in tomorrow morning to do a project but it entails beinfpg outside, likely not going to happen.

Any news from Kim, she picked a good time to be away, hopefully her weather is better

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Yes, the group is touring Santa Domingo today. She said is really hot but enjoying the trip. Not only are they doing some advanced language study but they are having some history also. I guess the biggest surprise was to find out that her host family has a family member here in Tallahassee.....talk about a small world. Internet access is limited so the messages aren't very long or often.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Nice that you are able to keep in touch..and yes, seems regardless where you are you are likely to meet someone you kow or knows a friend.

I remember my DIL Melanie when she had Kyle, encouraged by her adoptive mom decided for medical reasons to look for her bio mom..turned out that her parents had reunited and married, lived in Meaford and that her best girlfriend's grandparents lived next door to them and she had visited with her friend the grandparents for weekend visits and likely saw them next door.

Guess I should get off the couch and get to bed, sure didn't do much today except essentials. Sky is so heavy, rain to come shortly..one good thing perhaps if it rains all night we just might get sunshine tomorrow.

Verona, ON

How's your rain situation Marion? We had none today just too hot and humid but Weather Liars are forecasting lots for Sun. The weather warning for heat and humidity is in effect until Tues.

Happy to read Kim is getting some history input from the area. I always look forward to delving into the visiting area's history and traditions. She'll be home before you know it Marion. When does school resume for her?

Anxious to hear the outcome of your meeting Mary. Would hubs still keep on with his auctioneer work? I still chuckle to myself when I think about how a Cajun auctioneer would sound.

Depsi Deb how are you feeling? What's the next step for you? I remember when you first joined DG and you were talking on another forum about how difficult it became for you when your DH retired and decided he was going to take over the gardens.I sure sympathized with you as my guy when he retired from teaching thought he would become Farmer Dell. He threw all of my previous years' work to the wind = I bided my time and prayed he would lose interest because it would be too much hard labour. I was hoping the same thing would happen with your DH. I am so sorry he has taken so much of the joy out of gardening for you.

Judy it is all well and good for me to tell you not to worry about taking the test because I know you will anyway. I know I would. You'll do fine. Just take a deep breath before you tackle each question. You CAN do it.

Barb look at you getting up and around. I echo everyone's remarks about not overdoing it. I know it is so hard after you have been unable to do little but remember baby steps. You aren't used to doing 'nothing' all day so I know this enforced inactivity has been hard for you. Chuckled to myself that you are figuring out how to work around situations so you are able to so some tasks that seemed so easy when you were healthier.

Debbie your photo of everyone on the porch showed a lot of smiling faces. Glad you are enjoying your new phone.

Betty what are your plans for tomorrow? Did you get the lawn cut today after all?

Time to walk Diesel one last time for the night. It will be on a leash though as there are too many fireworks going off across the lake. Sweet dreams everyone!
Dianne

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Dianne, Kim did a lot of research before leaving so she would have some idea of things in the DR...also help to look for things to use in her classroom. She goes back to work, I think, July 29th. Her daddy always called her "our sponge". I guess in some ways she is just that.

We did have rain today but not as much as the past few days. The frogs are croaking their silly little heads off now for more. Tomorrow was suppose to be better but the news tonight put the chance up to 80%.....I am really needing a break from this. Oh well, guess I will just learn to roll with it as there isn't much I can do to change things. My sister is still have heavy rains but thankfully it hasn't gotten into the house yet.

I think I will call it a night.

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All !

Hope everyone had a happy day with as good weather as possible...

Betty we are in the same location... it's being built. Yes you are absolutely right about stress can trigger the cough... If you don't find the biofreeze let me know because I still have some samples I can email you. I'll take a picture of my polka dot plant starters tomorrow and upload.... I am praying that things don't happen in "three's" this time... maybe there's something you forgot and 3 has already happened.
JUDY GO Easy on yourself woman ! it was your first week right? If you just find your way around the office you're doing well.
Jean as always - you are spot on.... I had purchased a Texas Bluebonnet, when I mentioned it I remember LK posting a gorgeous pic of a Texas highway COVERED with lupines... so pretty. Thanks for the advice and I'll start new seeds in October. I still have many left.
Marilynne ... yes LOL Funny thing.... it bloomed and died here. Could not get the seeds I saved to "take" but one came up all on it's own LOL a mind of their own.
Marion LOL in Gainesville.... Grandma who had them everywhere (Polka Dot plants) was in Interlachen which is SO close to gainesville. I remember the soil is very sandy there....
Dianne too funny re: Cajun Auctioneer, cher ! Hubs would take over the shop.

Give Diesel a scratch between the ears for me... Hope he is not frightened by the fireworks but knowing how you describe his demeanor... he probably is not.. just curious......

Meeting went SPLENDID! I have a LOT now on my list of things to do. This couple is so highly intelligent it is humbling... they seemed to like our ideas.... we agreed on decor... I need to learn quickbooks quickly LOL. So far the "space" is "delivered" around 9/1 and it will take 1-2 months hopefully not more for the build out.

I transplanted a Mickey Mouse Elephant ear today.... found a maple seedling in "the Path" and hope to transplant tomorrow. Hubs family coming over tomorrow (our kids can't make it!) for the Trio of Birthdays, FIL 85, BIL 5X and Nephew 4. The yard is looking nice and just waiting on a few more plants to begin blooming.... one is a lily that was a swap that will be new.

Hugs
Mary

Dianne, I'm feeling better....finding some relief from the pain with a drug called Elmiron.....at first my insurance wasn't going to pay for it 'cause it's expensive but after a bit they changed their minds....dr convinced them.....I just finished a round of another antibiotic shots and will begin the bladder infusions shortly...I have an appt with a immunologist at the end of the month......We'll see where all this goes....got a bill from the hospital for 2 days of my 3 day hospital stay & it's just short of $9,000....I can't believe it !!! we gotta get somewhere with the cost of healthcare !
as for Bob's interest in the garden, He still loves it and I've kinda just stepped back when I need to and step forward when I can.....since we knew we would be gone most of the month of June we really didn't plant much....Just tomatoes, kale, chard, 1 Ancho pepper, summer squash & cucumbers....it's worked out good without having to depend on the neighbor's help too much.....
Betty, wanted to show you what my July project is.....it's a Horse Race quilt, I think they call it.....the picture on the wall is what I am keeping my colors built around......I'm thinking I need to introduce alot more deep blue.....I have enough fabric to make shams & table skirts....I just gotta get back to it.....I have a pansy print fabric cut out too that I need to complete.....
I haven't heard anything about the train wreck here...plenty of coverage on the plane....it's all so sad.....well, hope each of you sleep well and start off tomorrow with a smile.....I gotta get a pic of my little KatieBug with her big smile and her lips pulled back exposing her teeth....it's looks so darn goofy, just the cutest little smile of all bared teeth !!!! Man, that pup is just the best ! she has such a personality....Chi's really are like cats in so many ways.....see you in the morning.....

Hi Everyone, Having a rough night here. Got to sleep around ten and thought I might sleep through the night and wake up at a reasonable hour. Ha. Woke up about an hour ago and my bed was crawling with ants, several of which had bitten me, Got up and pulled off the covers and sprayed. Spotted another but I didn't recognize, one grasshopper and, in the igloo - a small scorpion which escaped. Came to the kitchen, stomped a cockroach and slipped on the remains, giving my new knee a stretch. I took a pain killer for the bites and am waiting for it to kick in and hope to get back to sleep.

I agree on hospital costs. The hospital cost for my three days of the knee surgery was about $35,000 and I don't think that included the doctor's fees. Thank goodness for Kaiser which covered everything. I still agree something needs to be done. The hospital was amazing - more like a hotel. Very quiet
and lots of nice drugs, so I was able to sleep a lot when I wasn't doing rehab.

It has been hot, humid and dry here. We may get some rain from hurricane Eric - I watch the national hurricane center.

Just spotted a medium-sized scorpion which I was able to stomp. They can move really fast but this one didn't see me coming.

I think Diesel would get along well with my Jennybear. She is incredibly mellow. Still thinks she's a baby and likes to lie on her back and wave her paws at me. She's probably at least 150 lbs so I have to play dodge paws.

Watched the movie "Ted" last night. It's very racy but also very funny and I enjoyed it. I like Mark Wahlberg.

Pinning on Pinterest wasn't working for several hour. It's better now so I'm going to look at crafts. Get some more ideas to add to my never-ending list.

hugs, katie

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh Katie, I'm sorry you had such a rough night. Hopefully you can sneak in a nap today!

Well, Ric and Robyn did come by yesterday and although there was some flooding in our area, they made it and Ric got some shots of bugs and butterflies. We were able to walk the garden and then walk Bertie's as well.

So far today it hasn't rained and the radar is looking good. It is 67 right now. I told Joan (you sistahs from 2010 will remember the visit to her house) that I'd come and help her in her garden today. She has her last big sale of the year on July 20/21. I usually help her at least one day when she's going to have a sale. She is forever gifting me with extra plants from her garden. I have many, many things blooming that always make me think of her. Such a sweetie she is.

So sorry to hear all the sad news.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, up early entertaining myself sewing..what else is new right?

Mary glad your venture is coming together, can't come to soon for you I bet! Lance is equally excited? Hooe with your company coming today the rain will stay away so you can enjoy the birthday festivities out in the garden, what is the menu this time, you always have such a feast.

Joyce, nice to have Ric and Robyn finally visit, bet there were a lot of oh's and ah's, you have mastered gardening and garden art, I just love walking all your areas..

Have fun at Joan's, I often think of my trip to her gardens as I look at the big metal art basket..so wish I was at her sale so I could get another piece of rusted art. Am sure the help you give her is well woth the pretties you go home with.lhiw is bill? Hi to Bertie for me..Ann was asking if another trip to frankenmuth was being planned for November??

Will be away this year for the Kempenfest festival on Barrie waterfront, 1,200 vendors..I always fine a piece, maybe I will give June some $$ and ask her to pick me up something.

Katie, my heart stooped when I read your post, id never ever ever sleep if i thought I would wake up to creatures in my bed, Lordy! Hope this morning the aches will have lessened.

Deb, that piece is stunning, you have matched the fabrics to a 't'.. Will it be a throw for the couch?

Dianne, we're you able to get a good nights rest? Smiled when you and Deb were speaking of hubs helping out..I need not have worried, roger wasn't a garden enthusiast, if I planted trees on the property somehow they got mowed down..he would have freaked having to cut around everything here..

Rain soon to come, best I got cut grass, gab in a bit

I am aghast at what you ladies pay for health insurance, guess our doctor/hospital fees being free makes me even more thrilled I live in Canada.

Susan, how are you doing, confined to bed?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, every 3 months Todd has to have lab work to keep an eye on his diabete's and it cost $600.00 each time. Insurance covers about 50% of that. And the prices keep going up!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Same thing for Norm's diabetes. and then you can add in all the co-pays and extras for his cancer checks. The ins itself is not cheap either!!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Thank goodness DH's employer pays the majority(80%) of our healthcare coverage...medical and dental runs us about $225 a month and the company picks up about $1600 a month....for just the 3 of us. Something has got to give...I can not imagine living in the US without medical insurance.

lewiston, ID(Zone 6a)

Katie, wish I was close to you.....I'd be there in a NY Minute and stomp for you.....I'm so sorry you must deal with that sorta thing, especially when your stomping knees aren't working up to snuff !!!! I sure wish I was in many of your guy's areas.....I would love to know you in person & see your creations first hand, not just pictures....do they have those "Round Ups" in our general areas??? I think that's what they are called.....one time when we first moved here I was out on the bank pulling star thistle sitting on the ground when suddenly my thighs & inside of the leg started stinging.....I jumped up and sure enough I had fire ants all over my lower bottom.....I ran for the house stripping off clothes as I went, was naked by the time I reached inside & ran for the shower immediately....flushed all those boogers down the drain but had red welts for at least a full day.....never have set on the ground since without looking first.....luckily we were the only house on the road then so didn't have to have neighbors see me naked flailing my arms yelling......they might've had me arrested for abuse to their eyes !!!!!
Betty, it will be the cover/bedspread for that room which is our guest room.....I'm only about a fourth of it done....I have a lot of top to be busy on then get it backed & bound.....
as for insurance I pay $1042 a month , just for me......Bob has Medicare which is a GodSend.....but a $1,000 a month for one person????????? What's wrong with this picture? I can't be without, I've had cancer 3 times and have chronic illness......diabetes, on & on....just got a bill for me to pay of $3000 from the local hospital....thank goodness they are patient and don't charge interest....at least now I've met my deductible so from here on out to the end of the year everything is covered 100%....
making a squash casserole to go with the chicken dish I'm taking to my girlfriend this afternoon...always so much to take care of....but love (and seem to becoming addicted to) following your days.....each of you.....
pic is of a couple of our garden group...I'm on the right side, the little chubby one.....

Pouring rain here and I mean pouring. There is a heavy mist so you can't see 2 car lengths in front of you. Bet the roads are a mess. All of our American cottagers have headed back - they left yesterday. I told 1 family to take the rain home with them. Obviously they did not listen,.lol

Joyce I am so happy for you that your visitors were able to make the trip. Nice diversion for you I am sure.

Like you Betty I feel very blessed to live in a country where medical costs are pretty much completely subsidized. We complain about how long we have to wait to see a specialist ( in my area the wait to see certain specialists can be anywhere from 4 - 16 mon) and when you are in pain or distress the wait just gets to you. I must say though that once Warren was actually diagnosed with cancer there was literally no wait - in fact an Ortho surgeon called us on a Sun afternoon informing us he would be meeting us at 6 am the next morning at Day Surgery in a Kingston hospital We got the diagnosis on a Thurs, and here was an Ortho surgeon calling 3 days later to set up surgery. Some of you might remember the surgeon had to fuse a bridge on Warren's spine where the cancer had eaten away the bones in his spine. Anyway there was absolutely no charge for that surgery. Then when Warren was in the hospital the last time he had an ambulance ride there, a private room for 4 days with 2 on 1 care and I received a bill for less than $150.00. Wow, eh?

Exciting time for you and Lance right now Mary. Make sure you take lots of photos of each step in the construction as they might come in handy down the line for one reason or another. Trust me, it is well worth the while to take and keep the photos.

You are 1 brave soul Katie. I am not so sure I could fall asleep in a room where I know there is a possibility a poisonous bug. Yep Diesel and I play dodge paw also. If one of those paws connected there sure would be a lot of damage. I think Diesel would get along with anyone - he thinks everyone be it human or animal wants to play with him.

Barb how are things going today? Hope you continue to get stronger as each hour passes.

Think I had better find some lunch since my stomach is talking to me.

M how was Gordon's BD meal? The idea of Chinese food sure appealed to me.

Stay safe and dry everyone. Make sure you all do something nice for yourself today!!!
Dianne

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Sorry about the rain Dianne but for a change in several days, it is really bright and sunny outside. Won't take about the humidity as that is another store entirely!!! I hope it stays clear today so the yard can dry....desperately need to cut the grass tomorrow.

Gonna be a lazy Sunday at this house...got up very late but then I had trouble sleeping last night. Guess when I finally got to sleep...I really did!!! Thinking about what to prepare for dinner tonight but nothing sounds good after having some delicious broiled salmon last night...maybe a salad and fruit will be it today.

Mary, yes Interlachen isn't very far from G'ville so I am not surprised the polka dot plant grew well there. I keep hoping mine here will get established long the back of the yard near the lake. It is a big area and it would be so nice just letting it do it's thing there.

I am in shock with all the cost of the various insurances everyone is dealing with now. Guess we were lucky when Ross was diagnosed with cancer. The company he worked for had a really good policy and due to his longevity with them, most of the expenses were covered by them or Medicare. I so agree, something needs to be done but.......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Had that downpour as well Dianne, sun now trying to come out.

Did 3 more quilt boxes and decided I'd best get my grass cut before the rain, just walking out the door and Linda called, was on her way, excited about doing 2 mushroom sets..

Finished the grass when Linda pulled in..yikes few sparkles of rain, wouldn't melt so out we went. 1/2 way through our project a downpour came, luckily I made room under the gazebo but still because I was in and out getting things we needed I look like something even the cat wouldn't drag home.

Before Linda left I got her to go pick up the church screen, what I'll do with it I don't know, perhaps you all can give me suggestions then off Linda went as she is meeting family at Mandarin tonight for Chinese food.

She is so excited to see her pieces when they come out of the mold, told her if I have time I'll drop them off at her place in the morning..she is only about 3 miles from where I am at the office.

Had a bath, washed my hair, now at least I feel clean..think I might stay in these jammies as I am not expecting anyone nor am I going anywhere, relaxing for the rest of the day.

Deb are those garden friends on Dave's Garden? cutest things come in small packages, I think of myself as not being fat,

'ewe's not fat ewe's just 'fluffy'

believe it or not that saying got my and my sister, Greg and Mel kicked out of Clearwater Florida, long story, funny now but not at the time. Still have the cross stitch of that saying 3/4 done, should finish it, would remind me of...

ohhh there are doves in the drive, hope it's not doves that means death?

Hurt for you guys, just think what you could do with those $$$ if you didn't have to dish it out to keep alive.

Ann was telling me that her daughter now in the hospital till she has her babies because of her coverage was to be in ward (4 people in the room) but when they got there all the ward rooms were taken so they put her in semi private..yesterday
morning they came to her and said there was a room on the ward did she want it, she said of course as I don't have coverage for semi, nurse said leave it with me , few minutes later she came back and said 'we've decided that your best stay with us will be in semi, no additional charge'

sure is nice of them

Marion, I just made a platter of fruit, crackers, salami and cranberrie cheese to munch on, bought corn on the cob and steak for supper..easy meal..see you are doing the same. Great you slept in, must have needed it.

1. our muschroom and container project
2. Linda decided to wash off my b.b.q. and washed her new telephone as well
3. my new garden piece, what to do with it, what to do?

ideas please

Betty, I had the same thought when I realize how late it was when I got up. I still have no clue why I had such a hard time falling asleep last night but I did...maybe it was the lack of the rain sound I had gotten use to..or whatever. Had a steak several nights ago but today I just feel like fruit and something light.....maybe tuna salad or whatever.

Sun still shining and I am so glad...grass will be drying so it can have a "haircut" tomorrow.

Love the mushrooms!! I keep saying that is something I want to do but I don't seem to get around to doing them.

Well off to make some tea...ran out yesterday and that is unheard of in the south.....no tea in the fridge!!! Not good.

I could see a flowering vine growing up on that church window. Beautiful!!!

But where to put it Debbie? Linda asked me how you and Shannon are doing seeing as we met last time you had to run, Shannon was I'll.

Marion, just likely you are not sleeping because of being on your own..doesn't bother you to be alone at nights..

Drats, knew I shouldn't lay on the couch, now I want to nap!

LOL oh no Betty, being on my own is not the problem....that doesn't bother me...mostly couldn't shut off the "thinking" process...things I want to do, how to do them, what time to leave for Atlanta to pick Kim up this coming weekend....things like that. Plus going to bed later than normal will throw me at times..did that last night.

Lordy that is a 5 hr drive is it not? No other airport closer?
My body wouldn't know what a regular bedtime is. Know one thing, if I don't get up off this couch that will be it for the day.

I would put it as a backdrop to the pond. When blooming it will look like beautiful with fountain in front
and a "flow" of flowers.

Betty, we have a new doctor Tuesday. Although he specializes in Neurology....he is a DO, Doctor of Osteopathy.
Going over the whole body instead of a single organ. He is younger, actually still in residency....but overseen by other Doc at Strong. SO, I am rather excited he might take the time and get a handle on the "big picture" with this girl.

I know our care in the states sometimes is very costly, but I still wouldn't head north. I lost a dear friend because his cancer required a lengthy surgery. They couldn't book an operating room for so many hours for several months...yes months. By the time they finally did the surgery, the cancer has spread too much and he died. Between our Medicare and our supplement, we have pretty good coverage, My Chemo drug is over $6000 per month and is a lifetime thing, but it costs me nothing. Sure am worried about what will happen with Obamacare.

Debbie, great idea!

Glad to see you've good vibes about this new physician..being unfamiliar other than paperwork to your case might be a plus. Let's hope!

Beautiful arched frame Betty, would imagine the suggestions will be many.
Would a stained glass piece look OK hung in there somehow?

Have read all the responses/discussion re the cost of health care. I do so hope the US can come online with what Canada has .. not a penny crosses palms when care is given, only thing I have ever paid for in the hospital is the TV, and, I think now you have to pay for use of the bedside phone .. cellphones are allowed though.

DHs bday was a wonderful success .. the fam was out and we had a feast on Chinese Food (guess what's for supper tonight .... LEFTOVERS0 LoL
Gord got quite a few scratch tickets .. actually WON $10. !!!
As the party was winding down, the clouds SPLIT OPEN and KAPOW .. we had a thunderstorm on our hands with torrential rains that lasted til about midnight. Gord had to get the supmersible pump out and stick into a HUGE puddle that gathered in a low spot on the grass.
Temps have moderated significantly now, no more humidty , sticking around the high 70s for the next few days..

Love all the pics .. always make me smile and also makes me realize we have 3 cell phones with pics to be downloaded as well as a digital camera .. just seems like such a formidible task right now .. definitely one of those 'GOTTA BE IN THE MOOD' moments :-)

Toodle dee doo ~M~
