Coffee Break # 97

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

thanks

I just whacked my head on the corner of my kitchen island...Whoa that hurt....

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Watch it with that counter, Jen.....ouch!

Marilyn, I hope you start to feel better very soon. {{{{{{ }}}}}}. Take it easy.

South Hamilton, MA

Sorry that you are not well. You know that we are all pulling for recovery. cool room & lots of liquid.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Hope Jen's bump has subsided.
Hope Marilyn bounces back quickly.

Thomaston, CT

Thanks, I'm feeling somewhat stronger today. Iris, the ER nurse told me to drink 8-10 glasses of liquid, which I did yesterday....easier if it's hot! Jen, hope you iced your bump.....

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Ya, iced it and took an ibuprofen. Still tender today with a slight bump

As if we have nothing else to do....shelf fell down in the cabinet where I keep my pots, under the cooktop...I take everything out to fix it...only to find out that the entire back of the cabinet has separated(cheap crap cabinets) and now I can't put the shelf back up, guess the countertop is the only thing holding it together

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Definitely not your day, Jen? Hope tomorrow is much, much better!

Marilyn, glad to hear you are feeling a bit better. I used to hate drinking water, but now that's about all I drink, and it is much easier to get in at least the 64 ounces each day. Try hard to drink as much as you can, especially if it really is your kidneys. It will speed up a turn-around. Hope you keep feeling progress. Hugs!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Please keep away, Jen! ;)

Hope you're better soon, Marilyn.

Thomaston, CT

Thanks, Louise & Victor......doing well today.....ER called & asked how I was doing....glad I went to hospital in Torrington, not Waterbury.....they wouldn't call if you were the last patient on earth.....Jen....not your best week!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Jen and Marilyn, hope your are both feeling better. Nice that the hospital called. Also a belated response to the death of Victor's Aunt and Jen's DH's uncle. Hope there are wonderful memories to share with those who loved them too. Patti

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

wow can't believe the er called to check on you - good hospital - glad you are feeling better Marilyn!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I thought that was common practice

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

It is here....glad your feeling better Marilyn.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Not common practice here that I know of.... keep feeling better!

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Whew! DD1 needed oral surgery today to remove her impacted wisdom teeth. All settled in now with percs, motrin, ice, ice cream, pasta, yogurt, and lots of fruit to blend up. DD2 did this last year. She suggested to her sister that she should ask for a smoothie from Starbucks right after coming out. So I did go and marveled at the long line. This is about the only time she gets waiting- on like that. So I WON'T tell her that without wisdom teeth, her IQ ought to drop 10 points, ha ha.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Best to her Rosemary! I was lucky with mine, small and not impacted. My boys not so much.

Thomaston, CT

Thanks for your well wishes....I'm feeling much better today...will see my own doc on Friday for a follow-up.......Hope your daughter is doing OK, Rosemary....my son had that operation also....not much fun!

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks. She is a lot perkier tonight. I think complications would have appeared by now. This is one life passage I am not likely to see again. We played scrabble after she got tired of TV, so it was a nice day for me. I have to go back to work tomorrow, and she took the week off.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

YIKES AC is down!! Thank goodness for ceiling fans and an open patio door for sleeping...gonna be a looong night!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Too bad we're not closer Ronnie, I'd send hubby over to fix it for ya

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Aw thanks Jen, hoping it's just the thermostat.

Thomaston, CT

Not a great time to lose the AC....I'm hoping power grid is able to handle this ridiculous heat.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

We got lucky, Lou went into the attic and cleaned out the drip pump something or other and so far so good!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Must have been at least 120 in the attic!

Thomaston, CT

Had to be! I have never gone into my attic......don't like the ladder. Not much up there, anyway.

Is there a way to get rid of the "follow Daves garden" from the left side of the page? Now it cuts off half the posts

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

http://goo.gl/tnKMW

This class looks like a great way to start making metal garden art!

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Gosh! the right side is cut off on most of the threads but not all of them!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

This is ridiculous. Very amateurish.

South Hamilton, MA

yes, print is better, but left side is white & right side disappears.

South Hamilton, MA

Why is the 'home page' fine & the form pages missing the right side?

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

debi_k I totally agree with you that the "Follow Dave's Garden" takes up way too much room for having nothing below it but empty space. I have plenty of empty space between my ears so I don't need more here on DG.

My journal was a mess yesterday, but better today. So I am holding my breath that they get it back to something workable again. I could care less about the boring banner, but would like Photo's restored to the Journal though they did put them back if you drill down in a search.

Of course I have been begging Terry for some up grades to the journal for years about cleaning up some basic issues that would make it more useful and compliant with standard Botanical usage world wide. It needs to have more search features too like a secondary sort feature. There is a thread in the DG Journals and Diaries Discussion Forum

Quoting:
Journal "wish list" requests here, please -- [Sticky]
So please fill it up with new ideas that will most likely get ignored, but they would make me feel like I have company. Patti

South Hamilton, MA

Wish list: move the print fully onto the screen & let us see what is written. Luckily I don't keep my journal here as I had it long before DG.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

I too am having journal problems. I have asked for an update to see what
they can do to fix the journal. I'd like to know if I'm on my own with it. I am imposing shorter margins when
I type
here.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Leah took her first independent
steps last night, both parents and
both grandmas were there to see it
pretty cool

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Yeah Leah!

I agree with Patti. It is annoying to learn the correct botanical
classification
of an unlisted plant, add it to the plantfiles, and have them remove the
listing or change it to an incorrect listing without any communication.
Obvious one to see is viburnum plicatum v. tormentosum is not the
same as v. plicatum v plicatum.

If we put in more returns we can understand our posts better!

Thomaston, CT

There is nothing on either side of the posts....are you talking about the opening page? Anyway, the other day, my pages were centered....now they are off to the right.....annoying.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Unfortunately all my devices
Get cut off and can only see half
The post

South Hamilton, MA

We are getting good at figuring out the text, but REALLY!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Congrats, Deb!
