Took the kids to see Monsters U. Was disappointed. A few good moments but nothing close to the original.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

really? that stinks, maybe will wait to get it free on Amazon prime
Glad we didn't go see Lone Ranger, some really bad reviews

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I've seen Bucket List, and just saw Argo on the caboose. I don't watch too many movies, so am way behind

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Me too. Catching up now that the kids are older.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

I enjoyed Bucket List too. Lou took the girls to see Monsters U, said the same thing.

We watched Just Go With It...Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler, was cute.

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

Loved Slumdog Millionaire- only just saw it myself in the last two years.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Watched a nice fantasy story tonight - The Lady in the Water.

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

Foreign fiims
A Separation (Iranian) ok for us, interesting for cultural aspects, many good comments on IMDB
The Women on the Sixth Floor (French) cute

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Loved Bucket List!

Anyone watch THE FULL MONTY ? Recently watched it again and followed it up with CALENDER GIRLS. It was a British Comic Sunday here. :)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Loved The Full Monty.

We watched No Country for Old Men last night. I liked it a lot. My wife was angry that the bad guy got away! I told her that's life. Happens all the time in reality.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I am watching a new series on Showtime
Ray Donovan WOW .
I like most of the Cohen brothers movies.Best ever FARGO

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I loved Raising Arizona.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

O MK G I forgot about that one.Never saw the Big Lambowsky.
Cohen brothers are an acquired taste

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, they are 'different'.

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

Loved Arizona, Fargo ; did they do Usual Suspects too? Dont think Big Lebowsky really wowed me. No Country was dark but good.

Got an audio book to play while doing my boring repetitve computer job, really made the time fly so I actually am more productive.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Saw The Constant Gardener tonight. Very good.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I didnt know Usual Suspects was a Choen film.Kevin Spacey was great.
Oh Brother Where art Thou.I cant get enough of the Foggy Mountain Boys.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

We had a month long trial membership in Amazon Prime to catch up on the Downton Abbey series. DH decided he likes Netflicks better in general, so we're keeping that one. Last night on Amazon we enjoyed an African adventure story -- I think was called The Ghost and the Dark. It was cool to learn that the lions Val Kilmer and Michael Douglas were hunting actually ended up as a familiar exhibit in Chicago's Field Museum. I remember shivering when I saw them as a child because they were so large.

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

Sorry. Usual suspects was Not Coen brothers.

"Kobayashi"

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

sounds like a well liked guy, so its a darn shame if he did it with drugs.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

more proof that $ and fame doesn't buy happiness...sheesh only 31

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

I read that on facebook. I like that show, sure hope it's not drugs, bad message to send out to the young ones who watch.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

It is most likely drugs, he's been in and out of rehab . :(

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I agree with Pixie. He was alone, his fiancee and support was somewhere else.
We never know what tips an recovering addict over. So sad.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Sad how they can get a hold on people :( Seen too many in my life get messed up or loose their life from drugs/alcohol.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Ronnie, glad you included alcohol. Its the worst.

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

Watched "THe Late Quartet", with Philip Seymour Hoffman, and ...oh carp, brain ...can't remember his name... Anyway, the preview looked so so but the acting was very good and it came off as a very real story. Relationships, a string quartet has played together for twenty years and one is getting Parkinsons, so his bowing out sparks some simmering issues...

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

He was a local boy and very good

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Saw Oz. Pretty good. Nice for kids. Great sound and visuals.

This was my fathers Indian Chief Motorcycle. It was sold to Tom Cruise in Daytona Beach Florida in 1985. When you watch Days of Thunder and see him ride the motorcycle in right at the beginning, it is this one

Phillip Seymore Hoffman comes to town periodically.
He spoke at his mothers rally when she ran for a judgeship.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Thats very cool Sherie!!

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Wow Sherrie your a celebrity sort of!! That's pretty neat.

Want to see Oz.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Cool about Sherries' dad's Indian Chief. Reminds me of the movie The Fastest Indian.

We saw A Late Quartet also recently and really liked it. Acting was superb. Christopher Walken was the older one getting parkinsons. I probably already wrote that his role I thought was truly spectacular in a different way was in Seven Psychopaths. There was a lot of violence in service of the plot in that one, though.

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

gack yes, I could not remember Christopher Walken--almost said ''the other strange looking actor besides John Malkovich.''

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Very cool Sherrie
Fastest Indian was a great movie

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

seven psyco's was pretty good - do not come to this thread much - geez some of the movies being watched are pretty old.

bucket list was rated a "rental" here - very predictable with familiar actors to make it watchable.

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

watched Scoop, a Woody Allen movie.
It was mildly amusing, romantic comedy with a twist, Woody Allen is in it with his usual 'character'

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Loved him in Crime Story
Dennis Farina, died
