Best/Worse/What did I learn today??? Chat with friends

Victoria Harbour, ON

Judy you so make me laugh...needed that!

I'm still hoping Debbie will want to run away from home just at the weekend Elvis Festival is on..praying and praying for that one!

You know the last few days I've been looking at photo's taken last year, so wish it was yet to be and not behind me..

Sorry Dianne has been having her dizzies again..times like this when you wish you lived closer.

Will go looking for Barb's # once I have my bath..

Smelling like the javex queen (patio set in the back bush all washed)
At least I don't smell like the samp lady..

Lyndonville, NY

Oh Judy, that marshmellow hit the spot! And yes, it was about 3:00 a.m.!

I never ever eat peanut butter and jelly....unless I need comfort food or am upset. Well, it has been well over a year
since I have had one, and I just ate two with a glass of milk. Know I will be paying for that later!!

These two kids next door...will be screaming and "grandma" who has a mouth WORSE than a drunk sailor comes out yelling
right back at them high pitched....to stop screaming!!! There is about two & 1/2 driveway lengths between there house and ours....
a bit more maybe...along with a tree & fence...and we can STILL hear every word they say at their kitchen table inside!!!

I think it is time to put my bottle of wine in to chill for tonight....might even use my flamingo wine glass!!! LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie, gt the tunes going in te back yard s loud as you can whenever they are playing outside, at least you can enjoy !

Funny how we all have comfort food..I've done nothing but eat today. When at Foodland there were sweets lemon and raspberry, 4 in the container, operative word 'were' betty ate them all..thank goodness I didnt. Make my way to Tim Hortons..

Got a call a bit ago, Rogers, have my Internet, telephone and cable..they are the worse for bookkeeping and keeping services straight. Girl said I was $128.00 behind and they needed immediate payment or my services would be disconnected. I renewed my services with them in February, all included with tax was $141 and change..I never check the bill as it never changes and on 1st of every month $150 comes out, extra $9 so at some point I will have a credit.

Told her I could not understand their billing so she put me through customer care..first thing the guy says is ' this months bill is $173 and due 1 st..asked him why my bill would be $173 when it's $141 ah ha, error in your billing..will call me Tuesday to notify me of changes, better be a credit and not behind! Crazy

Glenview, IL

Oh man, thats pretty annoying...
OMG, I love to "hear" a good fight every now and again though.
I am so nosey when my neighbors go at it...I quick go to the harport, so i can hear better...LOL just like Agnus Crabbit.
and holy cow, some of them are real doozies, I've gone to tell Jake and even comes out to hear the fight!!

Yep those were the the biggest best marshmellows, I Think Betty needs to "donate" a couple bags of those, to my fire pit, don't you think? --Roll on the floor laughing out Loud, couldn't resist!

Oh Yeah Linda kay...Yep I am so excited for the the Super Moon, I really hope all this rain passes through so We all get the sight of our lives!! Oh my Julia was the one to tell me it was happening, I think we will go over to her place to get a a good look, or by the school football field will probably the best.
Do you remember ever seeing one? If i understand correctly they only happen like every 40 years?? That would put me at age 10, and I remember being in total awe over it then.

I sure hope Everyone gets the chance to see it! Get your cameras out and ready.

Lyndonville, NY

Oh Judy, those and RC!!!

Judy, these are not "fights" this is every day! Any time of day...just normally loud individuals, and the girls just scream at everything.
The one drops on the ground screaming like she is being killed...I don't know how many times I have ran out there thinking something
is dreadfully wrong....and find her throwing a tantrum.

ROFL This is the same child who got STUCK in the toilet seat last 4th of July and Grandpa had to kick the door down...remove seat from
toilet and cut the back in half with her stuck in it!!! Yeah....watch out Honey BooBoo

Lyndonville, NY

Forgot to ask....when is this Super Moon? Will have my camera ready for sure.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Judy, you and Debbie called them rolls of toilet paper! Reminds me, need more marshmallows, can't have a fire without food so it's Weiners or marshmallows.

Omg I can see you pulling out weeds just to hear the bickering, now I want to kow do they do the same when tones are high at your house..

Does Mr. Grouch still live across the street?

Countdown is on, off to Aunt Muriel's, did I tell you I really don't want to go?

Maybe I will have ice cream first

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Super moon is Sunday June 23rd!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just got back from aunt Muriel's, she said she is hungry for pizza so on her way here..

Fire trucks, ambulances going towards Greg's, apparently a fire on his street..need to go check

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, if your lurking, I am saying prayers for your area. I heard on the news that Calgary is having massive floods from all the rain, it even showed a home washing down the river, and was demoslihed when it tried to go under a bridge.
Please post soon, and let us kmow your OK?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Unless there is a problem, Susan should be returning home today from her camping trip.

Lyndonville, NY

Yes do hope Susan gets home safe and has had enjoyable time.

Any Barb news?

Betty, saying prayers all is well at your end.

We had a night out. Shannon is well enough to stay with a friend, so DH took me out to my favorite restaurant.
I had chicken parm, baked potato and side of clam chowder which could have just been my meal, I would have been happy.

Linda, I saw the floods on the news, that is so scary. My son is out in Colorado and about an hour from the fires. He said
when he goes to work, can smell the smoke heavily.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

My Brother is about 2 miles from the fires, so far he is still safe. No evacuation yet for them. Fire is going away from them.

Barb posted on cubits, she is having a bad time with her back. She said she can get up for maybe 30 minutes, and then back to bed for her.

Lyndonville, NY

That is horrible! I know she is going crazy...she likes to do her projects and "go".

Shane is living in Aurora, just outside of Denver, but with working in construction can end up anywhere working.
Last weekend was Colorado Springs.

Baton Rouge, LA

Too funny Judy I can just see you talking to Skittles and he answering you.... hubs out of town all week.... I was coming home and watering/puttering around in the back yard and caught myself several occasions having a conversation with Belle.... Neighbors probably think I have a few loose screws....

Debbie I've said this before but put "Spanishtown Parade" on your bucket list re: love of flamingos... Too funny thinking of Honey Boo boo next door ! And seeing Judy "Gladys Cravitz".... we call one of my friends that

Betty - how did the visit with Aunt Muriel go ?
Dianne, Susan, etc ! Missing you all

Hugs
Mary

Lyndonville, NY

Mary, are you setting me up to be attacked by those birds? I just don't know if I can do that...without a net and some type of protective gear.
They have it in for me.

Did you see the post my sister in law Katie put on my FB page?? "Build a bear is retiring the Flamingo June 23....hurry and get yours now!!!"
I am not safe anywhere.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, quick post, on my way to Darlene's to help with the garage Salem thank the Lord she has a 3 car garage as its threatening to storm..

Was out distressing last batch of mushrooms as this afternoon would have been too late and I could feel drops , windy, maybe it blow it away at least till lunch time, aren't I a positive thinker!

Will tell you all about aunt Muriel and my pretties when I get home this afternoon, as always she is greatful for the life she has had, talk about a good natured soul.

As she was leaving Kyle pulled in, we all had a chat then Kyle came in and spent another hour or so.

Said police had his road closed at both ends, he said the police thought there might be a lot of ammunition in that house, excuse me? Why on earth would someone keep that kind of stuff in a new subdivision..anyway I'm sure Kyle will find out more.

Noah got in more trouble, no school for him this year, if he doesn't smarten up they will not allow him in school next year either..taking his exams at the adult learning center so he doesn't miss all of his year, I think school was more than generous to allow him to do it that way..apparently Melanie took his debit card away, no money, always an adult with him, we will just have to see, I'm sick about it, he is almost 16 should some sense people are talking to him about should register..he just doesn't vpcare about sweet nothing!! My morning rant, got to run
Enjoy pay your day, hooe all are safe from fires/flooding
Those not well, prayers coming your way

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!
Betty, so sorry to hear about Noah messing up! Must have been pretty bad to be kicked out of school? Hope it does not rain on the sale Betty!

Debbie, you really don't like those pink flamingo's do you? ^_^

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

morning hugs everyone ♥♥♥

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Thunder, what are you to today?

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

going to work for 1:00 , just got up. was up late last night, son came home from WA.. trying to organize some sewing supplies for the next step in birdhouses to get done, and have to make up my mind on what to do for one of the round robins..

every morning first stop is coffee, second is the computer....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Don't work too hard today!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Ah Thunder, my kind of person!! :-)
Sleep late myself this morning......wonderful afternoon and evening with the granddaughters.

Lyndonville, NY

ROFL Linda, I am only opposed to the "fake" ones. I love the real birds and think they are beautiful.

I am sure I told the story of my kids and the flamingos.....and how there is now a small "nest" of the ugly pink
ones in my back yard because "But Mother...they were a gift, if you don't like them...and display them...it could scar us forever" Done
in her best "Wendy darling" voice from peter pan complete with English accent!!! I told the story to a DG friend on Pets...it kind of
went viral...and now, everyone once in awhile I will get a box or card in the mail....with "pink" in it....and no idea who it is from! lol

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Debbie, my son doesn't like the fake flamingos either. In fact, he detest them!! Wouldn't you know being the nice sister she is, my daughter found a role of Christmas paper (foil no less) with pink flamingos in Santa hats. Yeap, no one every offers to take that package. :-)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

LOL! Sounds like Jaye, a few years ago, she made a comment of much she despises the color pink... Well, we all sent her a box of pink goodies! She got a tickle out of that! Be careful what you wish for or say here on DG, it may come true, whether you want it to or not!

Lyndonville, NY

ROFL That sounds like the Christmas cards I sent out last year Marion!! It said "to my flock of friends" or similar

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, how did the yard sale go? Hope you did not get rained out?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon,

Cannot believe the rain held out but for a short 5 minutes where we had a downpour!

My kind on garage sale, items priced where you couldn't say no..I ended up with a vehicle full, so much christmas crafting supplies, just what I needed.
Between that and what Aunt Muriel gave me last night I'm not sure where to put it.

Off to unload my car before it starts to rain.

mulege, Mexico

Hi Everyon Trip we, Thanks for all the good thoughts. I got home midweek with a bad head cold. Still coughing and sniffling. Very hot and humid here. Weather in LA and San Diego was great but home is HOME. Beautiful and quiet. Most Americans gone for the summer. Met a new neighbor just after I got back as my key didn't work. She took me to her home and I called Tony who came and let me in. Happy dogs - I think all four slept on my bed.

Brought enough insulation for one bedroom and Tony began installation today. I helped by staying out of the way. I'm still stumbling around.

More when I'm revived.

hugs, katie

Lyndonville, NY

Oh Katie, so glad you are home safe....now rest! I hope you feel better soon.

W got the couch & loveseat cleaned, cushion covers and pillows washed.

I then made a banana pudding with wafer, and waiting for that after dinner.

Having whistle pigs (hot dog with bacon & cheese wrapped) and broccoli salad ( to counteract the heart attack from the hotdogs!)

Weather is nice out....getting muggy. DH mentioned the AC. I rolled my eyes and "oh, are you hot?" PITA!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Am sure you are not giving yourself enough credit Katie, Tony likely relies on your help..guess cold is from drastic changes in the weather! Nothing like home sweet home, even more so when furries welcome you.

Bought a golf set and bag thinking one of the grandkids might use it, now at roadside with for sale $15. Likely will end up giving them to a kid just to get rid of them, me and crazy ideas.

When I came home this afternoon I wnt to get my wheel barrel to transport some of the junk I brought home to back shed, no wheel barrel..first thing ever gone missing from my yard..sad face

Greg just called, said he had been here 4 times today, needed tools and said 'by the way needed wheel barrel and borrowed yours' wearing happy face.

Rumbling going on, left a few things outside so I'd best go finish my clean up..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Payback for not putting it in before now. Lol.
Banana pounding sounds so yummy.

You did get a lot accomplished Debbie, how long before furries get comfy?

Lyndonville, NY

Furries are already comfy....but most sleeping in open windows.

We had storm pass through, and was lake side so probably over to you and Dianne.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

What all did you get fro the yard sale Betty? What did Muriel have for you? Is she doing OK?

Victoria Harbour, ON

It's brewing, can feel it in the air!
After garage sale at Darlene's we had a BBQ fit for a king, luckily I'll not have to cook or order something in tonight. Left leg paining so hot bath, good soak and voltaren ought to do the trick.

Re my visit with Aunt Muriel, feeling poorly but she was more upset about an inciden that happened Thursday.

If you remember I was telling you she signed her property over to her daughter and SIL a few years ago, since then they do not speak or if they do very little.

They were to pay land taxes and aunt Muriel would live there until the end of her days.

Thursday night she arrived home to find a letter in her mailbox from SIL asking her for $3,000 for taxes insurance etc. she wasnt upset so much that they asked for $$$ but that it's gone that far, that a letter in a mail box should suffice vs dropping in to talk about it?? That is what upset her so much..

They don't know just how I'll she is, poor woman was never heavy but is now 80lbs.

When I got to her house she was sitting on the grass necpxt to her flower bed weeding..says she is not about to let her gardens go unkept.

Has a collection of blue mountain pottery and decorative perfume bottles, wants me to have them.

Gave me some pieces of gold and a ring, didn't want to take it all but she says she has no one else she wanted to have them

One is a butterfly pendant with different stones that my uncle had made for her.

Victoria Harbour, ON

About 20 wood pieces for painting, about 50 Xmas bags (won't have to buy any or tissue paper) just have to put gifs in bags and I'm ready for Santa and box of misc Xmas ribbon, box of mini lights for decorative projects, box wine glasses to paint..box of those drilled glass blocks that you insert mini lights, decorate with ribbon, about 6 spot lights for Xmas, lots of gift items still in purchased boxes..so much more..really didn't want all of it but anything that looked like cradpft supplies was put in my pile

Have another car load to pick up one night this week

Then aunt Muriel gave me a few embroidery quilt top projects with embroidery floss, 2 quilt tops ready for quilting, some fabric. Hmmm way too much

Victoria Harbour, ON

Was just going to bring the golf set in for the bight, guy was at the road, wanted to buy them. Thank goodness, one less thing to store

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh no, that is a horrible way to act! I would be ashamed to be that way with anyone!

mulege, Mexico

Betty - I am seeing red over Aunt Muriel's daughter and SIL. They sound like most of my relatives. Ask Aunt Muriel if she would like a new (slightly used) daughter? Did she have a written agreement with her daughter or were there witnesses to the agreement. My thought is that Muriel should go to an attorney and ask that the agreement be rescinded since daughter and SIL are not doing what they agreed to. Let them get a legal notification through the mail. Even if it didn't work, it would be worth it for payback value.

Or, let the insurance lapse, have a house burning and come to Mexico. Maybe have a big moving sale first, then burn the darn house.

I'm so mad I coould spit. People like this are hopeless, sad to say and I am having to accept that a friend of mine is now a former friend due to her refusal to accept how her forty-something daughter still behaves like a whiney two-year-old.

Muriel would be welcomed and loved here in Mexico. Just be sure she burns the house to the ground before moving on.

hugs, katie
