Waving Hi, Marion. sounds like you have a full plate....hope all the renos go as planned.
Betty, we can't grow lilacs well here...too hot and humid for them and not enough cold time.....They were one of the first plants I recall....from the song.movie Oklahoma

Best/Worse/What did I learn today??? Chat with friends
Ahhh, was that ever nice to listen to Jean..brought a smile!
Marion, I thought when we got older we got to sit and rock in an armchair and get to smell the roses..
we are rushing so much that life is passing us by.
Know how thrilled you will be to have this reno behind you, been 3 or 4 years in the making.
Do find a few minutes for yourself though..wish Kim luck on her trip
Good morning everyone! Hi Jaye!!!
I am going in circles. Forgot what it was like having a little one in the house, especially a mouthy one.
And at 5:30 a.m.!
Hands on hips, having an argument with the dog! LOL Izzy doesn't know what to make of it.
Love the flower pictures, so pretty! Nate ( my other lost child) came over yesterday and helped me
pull the morning glories out of my clematis, being strangled. It looks so much better this morning.
Also got the wishing well stained, although I am not sure I like the "red wood" color at all. Will need another
coat some time today after Kylie leaves.
Waving to all....
Debbie
Just read an article about a woman in Hamilton, Ont. She was invited to a wedding and chose to put together a food basket as a gift. The couple first asked for the receipt to return the gift, citing that one of them had a gluten problem...they then went on to berate the gift giver, saying that they dropped $200 on her and her date and got a cheap basket of crap worth maybe $40. she went on to say that an envelope of cash was what they expected and most guests gave them on average $150. And that that was the proper gift, not some cheap food basket. She further berated the gift giver and said that her gift took the place of shame at a post wedding party.
What is it with people today? Oh I/WE are getting married, graduating, having a baby....come to my celebration and bring your wallet?????? What gall.
http://now.msn.com/wedding-gift-spat-is-huge-deal-for-canadaian-local-newspaper
Actually I listened to the radio station this morning, talk show hosts of 6..usually it's political but this morning it was about! Sure feel sorry for the individual she married.
A gift worth $200 to someone who have $$$ is of same value as someone spending $40 who has little, besides it isn't a fund raiser it's a wedding for pete's sake, you invite not to get gifts you invite to share in your happiness..
Debbie, guess you are not spoiling Kylie now are you?? What possibly could Izzy be doing to need a scolding.
Our neighbors son got married a few months ago, and they stated on the invitation, no gifts other than cash! We thought that was quite rude. We did not go to the wedding, and made a 5 minute appearance at the reception, and to hand them a nice gift , and to tell them how rude they were. Well, he came over to our house next day, and said thanks for the gift, and to apologize for his wife's rudeness, as it was her idea, not his. In fact he had no clue it was stated on the invitation!
To me when people act like that, that goes to show they are spoiled brats.Today in this world people need to be GREATFUL for what they get.Not what they WANT!!!!! They are the one who should be ashamed of their self. That person should have took the gift back and said, you don't need a gift.

The woman she married was equally rude Betty.
I remember a time when weddings were a celebration of a couple's commitment to each other. Then came the wedding registries....not a bad idea in and of itself, as it let you know things the couple needed to start their new home together....things like toasters, blenders, sheets and towels...small necessities....but my Lord....they have become gimme grab fests.... got an invite to a wedding a few weeks ago...usual stuff, until the end...."if you are unable to attend, below is the address to send your gift checks" I hardly know the mother of the bride...never met either the bride or groom...and will not be attending/sending a gift nor a check.
My neighbor showed me baby shower invite she got..."we have everything we need for the baby as this will be our second daughter, so we would prefer cash to help pay the hospital bill. Donations of $25 or more will be graciously accepted" Ya THINK???
Okay....I am having a Garden Party....I need new plants and yard ornaments, so bring your contributions, checks or cash. and come join us for lemonade and sandwiches...donation jars at the door and on the patio....OMG....y'all come and be generous..... (snark snark)
I think the individual with all this media attention might get the drift of how greedy she is..
hope it includes being embarassed as well.
It's off to lunch, might go down to the fabric store and try out a machine, glutton for punishment aren't I???
Almost had enough fabric in the blue/yellow bag to finish the quilt back for the top..few scraps left, am hoping after lunch I can stretch them enough to accommodate the top. Regardless I won't have to purchase too much more
Ohhh a plant fest, sounds like something one should have..kidding of course but I do appreciate pretties.
The nerve of some people's kids..am sure they were not brought up that way!
Sure jope you have enough fabric Betty.
Debbie, did you ever tell us what all the sirens were a few days ago? If you did I missed it.
it will be close LindaKay..didn't see Debbie's post re emergency/rescue unit in town.
had lunch, went to fabric shop, class going on so I didn't stay to try a machine, will have to wait!
what a gorgeous day..think I'll cut grass when I get home as they are calling for a wet weekend.
If only the rain can wait until Darlene has her huge garage sale Saturday morning. I'm going to help and the best way I can help ME is to leave my purse at home otherwise I'm sure the car will be filled. lol
Oh Debbie she is absolutely beautiful, bet you are having a time of your life..nice to have a young one in the house again!
Well, considering she just peed in my shoes....I suppose! LOL
LOL!
OMG..hope they were not your good ones.
Time to switch phones to my house..love Thursdays
She had my flip-flops on, and was walking around chatting away....suddenly realized she had to go.
Got in the bathroom and said "utttt-oh". Considering she is barely 2 1/2...I think she is doing pretty good.
I am Not a baby person, but Lordy I love them at that age? You have to wonder how they learn so much so quickly.
Hear all the lawnmowers going on the street so best I get out there and get mine done..birds are chirping away, hate to disturb them
Holy wah, worked my butt off but is sure looks nice..have about 1/2 hr of trimming and weekend outdoor work done..feels good, of course some weeding to do but not much.
Bit of grass in the pond and with my net cleaned it, mind somewhere else and all of a sudden I lifted the net and a large frog jumped out at me, lucky I didn't fall in the pond. Lol
Big double sigh, Aunt Muriel just called, asked me to come over tomorrow afternoon, said she wants me to pick out something from her jewelry, her curio cabinet, says she also made a few quilt tops and wants me to have it..drats know she got bad news, says she wants to talk to me, oh oh not sure what that is about?
Think I'll have my bath, sweating like crazy, no wonder the skitters were following me around.
Dianne, haven't seen you post in a bit, here is hoping you are having fun outside with Duesel..does he like going n the lake??
Debbie does Kylie spend the night as well?
No, her normal sitter had an appointment so I was just filling in for the day.
That little thing tired me out big time, but Shannon even more so.
I am NOT a baby person either....I can handle it once in awhile, and by the time 4:15 rolled around...I was just not sure
I would make it til 4:30!!! Little bugger pulled off a few day lilly blossoms about to open. Brittany sure has her hands
full being a very young single mom.
Waving right back Jean. Sounds like my plate is full but it does keep me busy and out of the nurseries and fabric stores! LOL You think Betty is bad about buying fabric.....well I am equally as bad. Maybe worse as I have had a longer time to do it. :-) Things are okay if we can just keep mom happy (I don't that is possible) and my sister doesn't have to put up with her rudeness.
Betty, actually we have been working on the dungeon since 2006. My son started doing the work but when his family started growing and he moved up with his work, his time got shorter for helping. He works for the National Park Service and between his normal archeological work and now doing diving where they map wrecks and various things his time has become really stretched. That is why I finally hired a contractor to finish the work to a point. I love to get my hands in it to much for the contractor to do it all. BTW you can see some pictures of his dives on FB going to his page, Charlie Sproul. He currently is diving in the Tortuguas and should be home the first of next week. Sorry didn't really mean to carry on about him....but I did.
Loving all the flowers you have posted. Thankfully we got some rain today and my plants are looking like they might recover. Went to a nursery in Bainbridge today and found some Hidden Gingers........thought of you Mary. If all goes as planned, they will be put in their new home tomorrow. Also found a crepe myrtle that grows in part shade!!! I didn't buy it yet as I wanted to research more information. It is a Southern Living plant named Delta Jazz......I think it might just find a new home in my back yard.
Love the pictures of the little girl Debbie. They are a hand full at that age for sure. I get to spend time with my 2 GDs tomorrow as they have found a new movie they want to see.....so you call grandma and Kim. :-)
Well need to finish up a couple of things then off to bed. I am tired!!!
Hello To All ;
Jaye your daylilies are beautiful and SO unusual ! I wish I had more variety... any hints on how to make them bloom more? Do they like Miracle Gro?
Betty your photos are gorgeous.... I don't recognize any plants at all... still hoping I can get some of those seeds of yours to bloom....witchy poo actually showed her teeth today... I think she was trying to smile... LOL....
You are a Saint dealing with your DM..... I'm sure your Aunt Muriel wants to pass along some of her things.... I remember Mom telling me that's what folks like to do when they are passing on.... it will be a special time for her....and you.... I'll try to get more pics of the garden... I'm still waiting on some things to bloom ...late in the season for that and I don't know why.
Marion... so sorry you had a dry spell.... I think I killed a few plants during our dry spell... now we are having rain again so maybe things will pop back.... would love to have brought you some hidden ginger as I have plenty and headed your way.... hate to think you paid for some.... they are nice though and the bloom is pretty (although "hidden")
Jean love that link.... all those old musicals bring Mom back to me.... I hope Oklahoma comes back to Theatre.... I'd love to see it again.... I think Mom had the record. Pandora plays a lot of the main songs but I don't remember the Lilac one....
LOL Garden Party.... Great idea !
(HUGS)
LK - I'm just appalled at these invites asking for money..... I wasn't raised that way. Sure hope I taught our kiddos to not be that way.... just rude.....
Hubs came home tonight. I video'd Belle with my phone. Hubs didn't believe me when I said that she understands when I tell her "Daddy's coming home"
Debbie I don't know how you've dealt with medical all these years....Here I'm trying to get DS ADD meds script and the Bull I've had to deal with has been unbelievable.... I 'd have to type a book... been trying since Monday and still nothing..... horrible....rude people.... uncooperative....
Bless you dear... hope you had so much fun with Kylie !
HUGS
Mary
Good morning!!
Happy first day of Summer!
and
Happy Happy Birthday to my girl Lizrainey... I hope you have a fantastic day! Hope you get the the weekend off.
LOL, will be ringle jingling you in a few, lol thought I'd let you wake up first.
Oh my gosh, Debbie, what an adorable lil guest you had! hahah, did you fall on the couch after she went home?
ROFLOL, Moonie, setting my garden party jar on the deck too!! lolol at least your offering sandwish's and lemonade!
Geeeze laweeze Betty, you sure are having a time with that machine, hope you get it resolved, just aggrevating!!
your gardens are looking beautiful!!
Gee, i thought that was real nice you went to reception even for 15 minutes...Linda, how rude of those people. LOL, I would have given just a card.
Oh my goodness, We just had a birthday party for the Mouths grandchild. We were invited, we didn't go
1, We never get invited to these peoples home, never a phone call or even a picture of the baby...When we do see them, We have to approach them, they do not come to us, or they say nothing to us. 2, The little one's birthday is right around, Erini's she was having a party too, but we didn't go to it eighther...They (child 1's parents) Booked their party for the same time regardless of anyone feelings...But We had our own B-day party for Erini at the Cottage. 3 We were only invited so the Aunts could have a ride, not the first time, oh well, its just too bad for the lil Gemma, Well I did send a card with a monetary gift...
Waiving Hi Sistah Jaye!
I hope you all have been well and enjoying the days!
I'll be back in a little while. y8uck it's going to be hot, hot soon, so need to go water.
Morning everyone!
Hey Judy, what are you up too? Yep, first day of summer, and it looks like it will be a hot one for sure! Were supposed to have that "super moon" this week end. Supposed to be really close to the earth, so it is supposed to be really big and full! I think it is Sunday?

Morning all..
Happy birthday Liz, waving big time..sure hope Kenny has something planned as a celebration for you..like Judy, am hoping you have the weekend off to enjoy..how are you both feeling? And grannie?
Judy, glad you stood your ground and didn't go, awful to be invited so you can give someone a lift, in very poor taste if you ask me.
Judy, imagine, this weekend last year I was fretting over everything, weather, entertaining you all and cooking, here it is a year later, missing you all...
Do need my firepit cleaned. Lol. Seeing as there may not be a gathering this year, talk Steve into coming end of July so we can do Elvis festival..so wish some of you could come...promise, if you did I wouldn't make you clean the pit.
Wonder if we will see it here LindaKay..
I've been out in the gardens since 6am, more looking than working, I am thrilled to say I'm ahead of the weeds and those that are there are tall enough that I can see and yank..hardly any earth showing at all.
No calls yet so I'm thinking that seeng as I want to clean up my mess re hypertufa containers/table I will go out shortly, not much cement left so it will be a quick making of stems..moved all the made mushrooms to very back yard, hidden away so if you want one, grab one or two!
Hi All. Have to get out in the garden, oh my what a mess. Pond needs attention, too. Sigh....
Spent 4 hours in the ER with Bill on Tuesday evening. He was having pains in his back below his shoulder blade and read that could be symptoms of heart attack, so off to the ER to make sure that wasn't what was happening. Turns out small pieces of the big clot were in is lung, not yet dissolved and there was nothing that could be done about it. Just have to put up with it until it dissolves. He said he can live with the pain as long as he knows he's not having a heart attack.
They're having some trouble getting his coumadin regulated. It was 2.1 when we went to the Dr. office on Mon. So he said take 7 mgs that night. Tues. at hospital, it was 4.16. ER doc says no coumadin tonight and come for test on Thurs. Yesterdays test was 3.4, so no coumadin yesterday and down to 4 mgs. tonight. Sigh....he goes for another blood test on Monday. Can't believe we have to do this for at least 6 months and maybe the rest of his life. Ack!!!
Hope everyone is doing well!
Drats Joyce, inconvenient, worrysome but sooo worth it to have you Bill with you..imagine it takes time before everything is regulated with meds..what would worry me is if one takes too lightly the pain and it's not just regular pain??
Am sure your gardens are just beautiful as always, oerhaps a few more weeds than normal! Know how much pride you take in your gardens and pond but this summer you have to close your eyes to what is not done and thank the Lord for blessings! Could you have a garden work bee with friends from the horticulture group, am sure if you asked there would be right there.
I went to post office this morning and found cards from both Sherry and Kathy of how appreciative they were of their week here with me..also just how much we did in such a short time span...you tell them door is always open, still lots we didn't see.
They both asked if you'd said if you had received yet. I'll be sure to let them know! Lame me...mine is still here sitting on the counter!
Cookie, my Dad is on coumadin, he has to go in every 2 weeks for blood work, and they are always changing it, take more this week, then next time, no it is too much, don't take so much! Glad to hear it was not a heart attack. Yes those blood clots can be very painful, glad you had him checked out!
((((Joyce)))) We have done the coumadin thing twice here, and both times it was same procedure. Once you hit that "2.5" mark...you stay on that does and get
tested every two to three weeks. NOT every couple days after the first week of it staying "on track". I had to stay on it for 6 months.....but DD only 3 months.
Thoughts and prayers with you both...this is NOT an easy road. Just hated that stuff and the worries it brings with it. Once regulated...it will get easier.
Happy birthday Liz!!!! Birthday hugs coming your way!
Betty, Aunt Muriel is just putting her mind in order....be thankful she is doing that now.
I just pulled to sofa and loveseat apart, cleaning and washing all I can.
Back later...
Debbie
Joyce, never you mind sending the note, know you were pleased with your visit!
Debbie, you are in a cleaning mode??
I'm all in a tizzy today, not looking forward to my visit, also wants to give me something for my boys..this morning she was off to the lawyers, big problem is she signed her home on the river to her daughter (adoptive) and SIL, they now don't speak so she is all alone, wonder what I would do if she asked to come live with me?? Deep sigh.
Just got an e-mail telling me a friend passed away during the night..his wife Mary has been dead for a good 15 years..he had such a sense of humor, had us laughing the entire duration of our visits..what a character
thank you,
betty no we went to the fair he bought me two pieces of jostar clothing i was excited we went for chinese but today he is kinda mad at me cause i told him i want to go to dennys, i earned my discount!.

Ohhh which jostar outfits did you get??? I bought another 6 when I was in Florida!
ok to have this special treat but you must keep up to Dr's orders..I'm almost afraid to ask, still NOT smoking???
that Judy is, shaking my finger.
Glad granny is doing ok..how old is she now?
Anyone heard from Barb lately?
Katie, are you home yet? How was your trip?
We haven't heard from Barb on this entire new thread!!!!
Betty, I am in a "tizzy" mode....not cleaning. I am a mess.
Too much happening I have no control over and my mind is working overload.
SO, cleaning. LOL
Afternoon everyone. LK, I too have been wondering about Barb. I have been concerned since I heard of the fires in Colorado. Hoping and praying they aren't near where he lives.
Joyce, sorry to hear about the ER trip but as Betty said, it is worth every minute to still have Bill with you. Take care of yourself in the process, please.
Where is Dianne? Have I missed her posting.
Waving to all the others....have a great day and an even better weekend.
Barb was having difficulties with sciatic nerve a bit back, perhaps it's turned worse and her breathing in the heat plays havoc with her. Usually she posts a Quick hi so we know she is ok..will have to go look for her telephone number. Let's hope it has nothing to do with her son living near the fires..ohhh what a thought.
Katie posted the other day, said she would take her time going home so likely not home until the weekend.
Debbie, have you heard how Dianne is, know you keep in close contact with her?
Debbie, sometimes it's good to get not those moods, get so much done..when my nerves are on edge 4 men and a horse couldn't keep up.
Off to clean away all the containers, wash down patio table I've been working on and that's it for today, time to clean myself up if I'm going to Aunt Muriel's, sooo not looking forward to the visit..
She has such a positive outlook, told me she's had such a good life, wanted for nothing, good health, beat cancer twice and is more than ready to meet her Maker!
Betty, Dianne has been not feeling well and having problems with dizziness again.
So hope you hear from Barb, she hasn't been well at all.
I hope Katie is home and resting soon.
School is out and kids screaming all over is not helping. Neighbor next door has two granddaughters that are about 8 to 10,
and let me tell you....they are the reason I am ready to move.
It is horrible with my ADD...I start cleaning, get distracted and nothing gets finished. I am going in circles!!! Pulled all the covers
off sofa cushions and have those in wash and will hang on line to dry. Have sofa sprayed down and now to air dry. Swear I will
never have another animal!!! (yes, I said it).
Need to find something to eat, just realized I haven't eaten anything since last night.
Oh man Debbie, maybe thats the problem, go eat something!! lol, I'd be falling over from starvation.
Big gentle Armwraps Dianne. ((((((feel better)))))).
Debbie, Lol your neighbors grand kids...you got human problems and I got dog problems!! My neighbor's daughter brought her new puppy over, well that didn't go over too well with Cadin, good heavens always barking...I think she jealous of the Chevy the puppy. Soooo, were back to the high pitched praise cause Cadin made a poop!!
ROFLOL, When I got Skittles to make poop in the toilet...I came charging in the room with such excitement to tell Steve birdie pooped in the toilet!!! lol I asked if i should shout it around in the yard, S u c h a GOOD Bird!! LOL, I just let her out a little while ago, she flew to my shoulder and as i was walking the hall she "whatch doing? What?
...lol and yep, i do answer her with what ever im doing and then ask what are YOU doing.
Linda, what you been up to? Got to change my necture, havent seen my hummers in a couple of days.
otherwise, same old, clean, garden work...pace the floor wracking my brain for an idea!! Finally, started tearing out those pI...Now, for its time to yank the weeds again...before they flower. I am super bummed, the second oriental lily was devoured, sigh...whispering I have 2 left, they have left untouched because they are hidden with the weeds, believe it or not on purpose!
Betty, I am sorry to hear of your loss.
Yep, I will too miss the gathering this year. If and a big IF i travel it will be to take Jake to School...NO news, still waiting for some info...
But I actually have been playing a bit more, got some pics loaded.
Here Debbie, how about a marshmellow!! I think it is the one and only photo of those fantastic marshmellows, lol at what 3 A.M.
