Thanks Ric- If I take another shrub out, I may try putting my Lilac on the northwest? side of my house. That spot gets the most shade of any and should be coldest in winter. A lilac that doesn't bloom is not much to waste the space on
Yes coleup! that one, thanks. Another new one to play with.
Casual Thursday at Sallyg's
Sally--
Don't Lilacs need sun? I always thought they did......G.
yup.

I dunno. Hydrangeas love it. Do they take less sun?
Lilacs need full sun and alkline soil.
Hydrangeas will take less sun than lilacs -- but they want a ton of water (hydro = water).
Heehee. Side bet, huh?!!!! Believe me I would have if I could have. Sounds like your babies are finding good homes, coleup.
I just got home last night-a day later than planned after dropping my son and a friend off in Kent, CT so they could get on the Appalachian trail and start hiking south. I was to meet Robindog a DG member from CT to spend the night at her place. Well, after turning my car off at our appointed meeting place it wouldn't restart even after a jump, so I was stranded with her until Monday morning. Found a garage that took very good care of me. it was a great weekend spending time with her. I figure that the delay allowed me to miss a big accident or something else, So I was pretty calm about the whole situation.
Jan, Sounds like a really nice trip even with the car troubles. I have done a lot of those drop off drives. Usually for either hiking or kayaking.

Thank you so much for that travel tip! I have had occasion to visit with greenthumb99, UMD_Terp, and sallyg when I've forayed up to Washington.
Now I know how to extract, er, manage a longer stay in their orbits...
Heehee. Yes, my 'plan' worked perfectly!! It was a beautiful part of the country that I hadn't been in before.
haha Jan...great attitude! Way cool that you have a DG friend near that dropoff point.
Watch out VV, now that I know YOU know baby pokeweed on sight, we might try to put you to work...but you could have my dang unblooming white lilac
Hmmmmm..... Let's see. I am to pick them up at the Del. Water Gap on July 2. Several
DG members up that way, but I probably should visit with some relatives. My niece loves to garden also, so she will be the target. Heehee.
