Gita, I'd reimburse if you arrive with a yellow Hosta. But don't fret over it. Thanks for thinking of me. And if they've suddenly gotten ten Yellow ones- I don't need all of them LOL
Wow on your Epi! Mine has a few buds and had two blooms last week.
Casual Thursday at Sallyg's
This is what the Washington Post says about Thursday: "Thursday is fantastic and sunny with a great chance to qualify as a Nice Day status as highs only reach the low-to-mid 80s and dew points stay down in the drier, more comfortable mid-to-upper 50s. Ah. That night features lows dropping into the comfortable upper 50s to low 60s around the area. We may need to introduce a Nice Night symbol for such comfortable summer weather. Confidence: Medium-High."
Woot! nice!
The 'David' phlox may have been neglected too long. I may end up with a few to bring my MIL by the end of summer but don't think I'll have others. Sorry, I thought I'd posted about it on the spring bulb thread. I picked some up at Costco that totally failed to do anything (got zilch from all the bare root plants I bought... going to try to get a refund but not holding my breath). Not the year for them for me, I guess!
Costco is great about refunds.
'David" must be finicky at getting starting. We did a co-op a few years back and got a lot of David, bareroot, and none of mine took off.
Sounds like it will be a nice evening.
Happy, someone must have gotten the drimiopsis, cuz I don't recognize it among any of the plants thatstill need to get planted. LOL
great Judy, Thank you.
What is the damage on those beasts?
Just one of each please. Thanks
I have the following plants left over from recent jobs I've done. Will bring to Casual Thursday for 'cost' or also return to store if no interest. If possible please indicate your interest by Thurs! Thanks, Judy

These are considered mid to late season bloomers late April thru May here.
I would keep these but I hope to be in Vermont for most of summer and then move there, so they are best parted out now.
I divided my Robert Poore phlox last year and killed all the divisions by neglect and drought!! But there was enough left in the original spot it's about the same size.
You all HAVE to see my Strawberries and Cream hydrangea! Another successful rescue of near dead plant.
Judy what size pots are they in?
The good news is that I am very close to spending a major part of this summer in Vermont with daughter and grandsons.
While I'm gone some of my plants will need more care and TLC than Wayne will be able to manage . Most of these plants will not be ones I take to Vermont when we move, so. I'd like to part them out now.
That's where you all come in as I am hoping to pass these plants to you at Sallyg's Casual Thursday this coming week when we gather. You can either claim these as your own or caretake them for a possible Fall Swap or whatever....
Here is a partial list of plants that need homes:
Australian Tree Fern (2) (Ric and Holly)
Alocasia odora (4)
Colocasia 'black stem' (8)
C 'Elena' (Ric and Holly)
C 'Mohito' (Ric and Holly
C 'Black Coral' (Ric and Holly)
Ensete Bananas (2)
Cutleaf Japanese Maples (3) for containers as stay around 5'
Oregon Vine Maple (2) understory tree
Hazel Alders (5) understory tree
Blueberries (6)
Elderberry (2)
Butterfly bush - blue
Heucheras?
FI Young Clematis in need of TLC (5)
Hydrangea Asstd ?
I have enough semps and sedums to supply a 'living wreath' party/get together if anyone would be interested in hosting one dmail me.
Please help these soon to be orphan plants! Thanks, Judy
Judy,
I'd be interested in Heucheras and JMs of course and a black stem although i can't seem to get them to live even though I did over winter one.
Paul : 1 1/2 qt and 5 gal I can return them if either or both do not suit you. No problem as I have other plants to return and all my receipts!
Sally, not to worry about all these plants I'm needing to part with at your gathering as most can stay in my Plant Van unless you wouldn't mind some on your front lawn like at Fall Swap! Also, I have that screened 'gazeebo' we used at the swap available if you need it!
May roast up my newly harvested garlic (small as they are) since we will all be among friends!!
I'm sorry Judy, I meant the Rhodo's and the Azaleas that are $4. What a steal.
July, I'd be interested in the Minitonka, Rosebud, and Chinides. Maybe some more - I'll let you know. You can always twist my arm on the PJMs.
What type of Elderberries do you have?
What price are the Cutleaf JMs?
Paul the Azalea/Rhodies are in 2.9 qt pots and almost all are in great shape and matched size wise.
Have started a new thread about my parting out journey to Vermont. Hope you will all chime in (and re-home some of my plants!
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1319224/
Happy, You already 'paid' me for a JM ($10) so you can have first choice
Viridis - green, very finely cut
Shahirasawam palmatum - green slightly variegated leaf
Red Weeping Cut Leaf - lost main leader am training new one not very filled out yet
Later on, say this Fall, I also have JMs that are now 10 + years old both red and green leaf in containers that would make a nice statement if planted in the landscape or root pruned to continue in a container. They are 6-12 feet tall.
Elderberries are common green for fruit.
I love the Weston Hybrid PJMs especially that they turn that dark bronze/ mahogony color in the Fall. If you get one of each you will have bloom succession for 8 weeks!
OOO - first choice is Viridis, second choice is Red Weeping Cut Leaf.
Woohooo! Rhodi's. Now I have to try even harder to get to Sally's on Thursday... if I don't make it, maybe Happy will pick up for me?
Judy, I'd love the 'Rosebud' especially, and also the 'Roseum' if possible. I'd also like one each of the Weston hybrids... make that 2 each of the Olga and Aglo. I'll be back with a longer list after I look up the rest... :-)
Critter -- of course I will!
Definitely not a "woohooo" though that we're losing Coleup. Although I know VT is where she needs to be now, that's more of a "boohoooo."
rhodi wish list:
1 Rosebud
2 Olga Mezzitt (would take 3 if available)
2 Weston Aglo (would take 3 if available)
2 Nova Zembia (would take 3 if available)
If nobody else is clamoring for them, I'd also like any of these
1 PJM
1 PJM Elite
1 Boursault
1 Pouchanense
1 Roseum
1 Minitonka
1 Chinoides
Thanks, Happy! And thank you Judy for making these beauties available to us plant-a-holics. Terp has dibs on anything I asked for except maybe Rosebud, which I "need" because it's my dad's nickname for his middle niece.
Aww thanks Jill. I'm ok though, I have plenty at this point. It is a nice price though.
Oops was I supposed to ask on this thread instead?
Poukhanense azalea is named after a mountain near where I was born, so I'd really like this one!
If there is such an interest you can purchase liners from this source in Indiana, PA:
http://www.wwnurseries.net/#!copy-of-pricing/cnce
Their liners are $2.50 or $3.50 depending on evergreen, or deciduous/rhodo/mt. laurel.
Shipping: We ship priority USPS or Ground UPS, which one depends on the quantity of plants ordered. Cost of shipping depends on weight, so we charge only what USPS or UPS charges plus $6.00 under 24" box or $8.00 over 24" box. This charge pays for shipping supplies, like the box, packaging supplies and labels etc... Not all plants we carry can be shipped. We offer Nursery pickup for extra large orders or larger then 4' plants.
The shipping cost that USPS or UPS charges will be either on the shipping label or will be sent by mail with invoice.
And you can also send them cuttings, which they will root and ship back for $3/each
SSG, I don't know what the protocol is, but you've got dibs on the Poukhanense & any other that you want (except maybe Rosebud LOL).
sally--
There were NO yellow Hostas....The ones I had seen had the slightest touch of yellowish tone
but it was not at all yellow.
besides--these were in gal. pots and cost $7.98.
Will keep my eye out, though, for a really yellow one. Do you have a picture of what one looks like?
G.
Sally---
I have good, sturdy, white, hard plastic soup bowls. Good for salads too.
I can also bring very sturdy, 10" hard, plastic plates.
Have loads of all this --from all the cook-outs I used to hold...
Would you like me to bring you a bunch? Who wants to wash all the dishes????
May I make this easier for you???? Would like to.......
LMK---Gita
Jill that's too bad about David phlox. I bought one from Santa Rosa earlier this year and wanted to compare with the bare roots. The SR phlox isn't doing all that much, either lol!
thanks Gita, you made the right choice on the hosta, I don't want to spend $8 and get a big one. I buy little and let them grow.
Thanks on the bowls, yes, sounds super!
Going to see coleup's thread now...
I'm updating requests over on the other thread but here is the latest summary on Azaleas/Rhodies.
Always a pleasure to be associated with other plant fanatics (sp 'fanciers') Thanks for quick response!

I just plucked some bleeding heart 'alba' seeds if anybody coming would like some let me know. I imagine they are pretty easy to grow.
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/55670/
Please put Happy down for the Minitonka and the Chinides... that still leaves me with a dozen, maybe 14, surely more than my "share," so I'm happy to slide some over to others.
Terp, I'd love a few seeds. I haven't been having much luck getting plants established, so I'm thinking that maybe a few seeds "in situ" with a bottomless pot "collar" to protect the spot might do the trick? Should I sow now or in fall, do you think? If I don't make it there, just give them to somebody else. :-)
Jill,
NP. Your guess is as good as mine. They self-sow, mine are planted in heavy ground cover (pachysandra) so there are not many volunteers that make it. I suspect if there was open space they would seed and grow with relative ease. The bottomless pot "collar" is a great idea. Perhaps a netting or something over top of it to keep bugs, birds, and rodents out? I'll make you a baggie.
BTW, where do you find the small bags?!?
Do you mean for seeds -- small ziplocks or manila envelopes? You can get them at hobby/craft stores, like Michaels.
I get those little seed baggies at WalMart -- in the CRAFT department, near the beads and jewelry supplies. 99 cents per 100. You can get ones with a white area to write on (still tends to wear off, I've found) for probably twice the price at an office supply store. Once I've opened the bag, I stick some pre-cut labeling slips (scrap paper) in with the baggies so it's easy to grab a couple. When I'm doing lots of labels, I use the computer... whatever address label template you have should fit fine, just cut them apart when they're printed out. This year, Joyanna is going to learn to use the paper cutter! :-)
Happy, I've found WalMart is cheaper -- or at least cheaper than anything other than ordering in way big bulk numbers, and no I'm not offering to do that group purchase!
Thanks for offering those seeds, Terp!
