Karen,

Those pictures are great. I would love some great easy day lilies. I'll get back to you tomorrow. I love day lilies even thought most shrub people call them weeds. Any perennial that blooms and is relatively maintence free is alright in my eyes. No pun.

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Pixie I would love some of those columbines. One of each if you can please.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Holly I am out of the Black Barlow but have a Nora with your name on it. :)

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Thank you so much. I don't have any like that.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

There are no more columbines and am out of potted Primrose but can pot some up...please D-mail me if you want some.

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Karen--

Will do on the 4's....

Around your mail box??? One would be enough.....they grow huge....Just FYI
I will get you the 4--need to pot them up later today.. Gita

Hi Karen,

...overwhelmed with selections; you should let us pay you something. Your list is like a growers catalog lol. I see way too many that I'm in love with. This is my "thinned down" request list (originally was one of each please lol - only kidding!!) if you have any extras. Your Crainview's are especially nice too. Do you have a favorite supplier where you buy them?

*dark purple and/or light blue dwarf bearded iris
*Annie Welch
*Seattle Slew
*Cisty

thank you!!

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I feel like I have been to a day lily show without the bugs!

Mount Laurel, NJ(Zone 7a)

Karen, love the early caliente.....cuz it's HOT, HOT, HOT!!!

Your mom and now, you have done a great job!!!

Mount Laurel, NJ(Zone 7a)

HollyAnn, we have variegated ivy growing in a porch pot, would you like some?

Lucketts, VA(Zone 7a)

Karen,
Those daylilies are wonderful, and I saw a few more from the pictures that I'd love to request - Cranview Classy Miss, Addie Branch Smith, and NWOMXKK (if it is the pink one and not the orange one - the post has 4 labels and 5 pictures, so not sure which label went with the pink one pictured 3rd from the left).

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Wind, Allison is bringing me some but I would take a bit more. Thanks

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Karen, wow wow wow. My wish list is getting longer... and I'd be happy to pay you something for these, too! Maybe we can think of this as a DL "group buy opportunity," with no shipping charge. :-)

I mentioned these above:
'Chicago Heather'
'Cranview Alien Encounter'
"Karen's Blueberry Dessert."

and I'd also love to try these,
'Cranview Faery's Tutu'
'Cranview Classy Miss'
'Lost Valley'
NWOMXKK

Lucketts, VA(Zone 7a)

Karen, ditto for me on paying something for these - my wish list is now pretty long too.

annapolis, MD(Zone 7b)

lol, I've narrowed mine down to two from each picture group! Very nice Karen.

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

Jill -- we're covered on the Boston Fern -- Darryl bought one at Lowe's or the like -- a huge monster of a plant -- he couldn't wait. Plus, somehow I don't think he'd have been satisfied with anything but a monster, now that I think about it... That being said, if the pieces you pulled off are still alive, we'd love them -- he is putting the monster in his office, so this would give us a start for home. He adored his mother, and so the plant is very meaningful to him.... But don't do double-back-flips to keep them alive for us.

Karen: I'd love a fan of Mary Todd if you have extra, and any dwarf bearded irises!

To all: I'm in Florida and spending a lot of time at Lowes. If there are any tropicals you'd like me to buy here and cart back to DC, let me know. I'm not sure what space I'll have -- I'll let you know. We may already be at our luggage limit, but if we're not, I'm delighted to be the messenger.

Lowe's is where my "pieces" came from, Happy -- monster is right! I repotted in one of those self-watering-bottom hanging baskets from WalMart... not much bigger, but room for a little extra potting mix plus a generous handful of moisture crystals in the bottom. That's how I did the one for my mom last summer, and it worked really well, Dad just kept the bottom reservoir filled. I mention it because the one I got was so rootbound in its pot that it could hardly soak up any water any more...

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

Thanks, Critter; that's a great idea. I'll check out WalMart. Will it be obvious to me when I see it?

Carlisle, PA(Zone 6b)

Wind, you asked me if I had a wish list. What I really LOVE is tropicals, especially vines, morning glories and anything in the pea family. maybe if you have some seeds you could send along with Holly? I'll go look at your list & see what you have. If I see something that somebody has & I like it, I ask for it. Judy

Anyone want some Candy Lily? http://www.perennialnursery.com/pardancanda-candy-lily/ The one I have is bright orange with black spots.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

would love some Memory... please!!!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Yes, please, Memory! Love those hot colors!

Odenton, MD(Zone 7b)

May I put in a request for a Candy Lily please.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Karen could I get Cranview Classy Miss please...thanks!

Odenton, MD(Zone 7b)

Holly, do you still have some of the Lamium? I would like some please.
The front yard here is a mess of weeds that are 18 inches tall, maybe if we put groundcover down it might look better since Steve doesn't seem to want to cut it.
The house across the street looks fantastic, yard is beautiful and they look across the street to this mess of a yard. I just have to do something about that.

Odenton, MD(Zone 7b)

Pixie, may I request your remaining 3 Osteospermum if they are still available?

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Catbird, would you like a *ton* of variegated vinca for your yard area? It's really pretty; I just don't have a good spot for it. It's not quite as thuggish as the all-green vinca major, IMO... one friend of mine "contains" the green variety by weed-whacking the edges of the patch where it meets her regular yard. here, it overwinters well only against the south foundation wall, but I think it would be evergreen (or ever-white-and-green) for you. I could pull up a great armful for you... enough for a dozen flats, I'm sure, if you separated the bits and potted them up. I propagated a bunch of the green variety that way for my folks several years back; worked out well.

Button, thanks so much for the plants you sent along with Holly! I sent your Kerria japonica along back with her... it's been in that pot for a year, should be ready to plant out. We got a couple more starts off my plant for other people this evening, too. It's in full bloom now, fluffy yellow pompoms, "so beautiful!" Joyanna says.

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Karen,
There are a few Day Llilies I would like-- if possible. I plan to share a few with my daughter...
We chose these together....She is becoming quite the gardener--at the ripe age of 48....:o)
Here is "our" wish list"

1--Cranview Faery's Tutu
2--Snow Line X Queen Ann's lace
3--Seattle Slew
4--NWOMXKK
5--Cranview tangerine Ruffles
6--Beryl G. Foster

And--an iris--"light blue Bearded iris"

I have a Day Lily you did not list--It is "Frans Hals"....would you like one?
It is a simpler version, sort of, of your 94SX--the alternating colors on the petals.....just plain and simple...

If you do--I will dig one of my clumps up-and hope it is the right one..They should be marked...
Will add a picture of the Frans Hals below. It is nothing super fancy, like yours, but nice....
I have some "seeds" (bulbils) from it as well....I hope I DID collect some this past spring???

Also--I have over 50 different seeds available--perhaps I could re-pay you by bringing you some seeds?
Click on my name and go to my Trade List. All the seeds listed have pictures of the plant attached.

I could also bring you starts of one of my Red Epiphylums--or a rooted Ric Rac cactus start???
Or--a small, Red Easter Easter Cactus? Not in bloom yet--but it will--when ready....

Please let me know---and you can have ALL the 4 O'clocks you desire---I just potted up another 30.

Thanks a million----Gita

Frans hals--and Red Epi

Sure do have some Cat I will set it aside for you.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Catbird they are all yours!!

Mount Laurel, NJ(Zone 7a)

Gita, are you sharing your red epi? I love the blooms, don't know a thing about it though...

>>> Horse hair anyone?
Would anyone be interested in horse hair for suet feeders? We used to put our dogs hair in suet feeders and discovered that the birds loved it for nesting material. After she recently died - and we ran out of her fur - a neighbor provided us with horse hair. The birds love that too! It sure is fun to see birds fly off with tufts of fur in their little beaks. One year, it was so funny, another dog we had carefully peeled off the fuzz from yellow tennis balls. The birds used that too; it was funny to see their plush yellow-lined nests!! Anyway, I'm not 100% sure I can even get the horse hair, but most likely I can. There is usually a ton of it at the barn, so I'm told.
