Would anyone be interested in some tiny baby columbine that self seed and love the shade? I've found 3 at least of the "Nora Barlow". Will have to look and see if any of the black or yellow had babies. :)
Chat and Swap thread Part 3 for The RU at Jan23 on May 18
Pixie I always look for columbines! Especially from other regions.
I will dig up what I have today and let you know, but im sure of at least "Nora Barlow". ^_^
pixie if you spot any black, I would luv one. I'm a major fan of chocolates in the garden
Awesome
No yellow, sorry!
Wind you can have a Black Barlow
UMD_Terp you have Black Barlow & Nora Barlow
Have 3 Nora's left and 1 Black
Yum, columbines! Nora Barlowe is one of my favorites, and if she ever fails to appear, I know who to beg for seeds.
I just now had a delightful chat with Bill from CaladiumBulbs4Less, who is such a sweetie. The bulbs he sent me this year were wonderful, maybe even bigger than the last time I ordered, and he really sends "clumps" -- often, there's a big bulb with 2 or 3 little ones attached, or a couple of bulbs stuck together that he could have split but didn't.
This year, we had an "oops," and he sent me an extra helping of 'Miss Muffet', a sweet shorter Caladium with bright chartreuse in the leaves that's also somewhat sun tolerant. I'm giving some of the first bag of 25 to my MIL, but we don't need 50! See http://www.caladiumbulbs4less.com/servlet/Categories
He said I should keep them or share them with my friends, so I figured I'd do both... anybody getting lilies from me on Sunday or wanting to "reserve" some, you can get these 50 cents each. They were a little more than $1 plus shipping, so this way it's like we all get them for half price... well, better than that really, since he normally sells them 10 for $15, and you'd easily pay $3 per bulb or $6 per potted plant locally.
I was telling him about our plant swap and that I'd be sure to include a business card with any bulbs I shared at the swap, and he said I should look for a box next week, because he'd like to send us some new brochures and a surprise. oooh, I like surprises! I think I'll put one of the brochures with my gift table contribution of a few extra named caladiums. :-)
Sounds great Jill!
Adding Tall Japanese Primrose to my haves list.....10 of them . They range from pale pink, dark pink, hot pink and any other cross they have managed! They self seed and will spread like wild fire if your not careful. They love the shade so if you have a woodland border they would naturalize beautifully. Otherwise remove spent flowers and you will have no problems.

I'll take one, a pink of some sort. Sounds great for my house.
I can't tell you what color it will be, but I have mostly shades of pink. Your can certainly have more than 1, I only dug up 10 but can dig more if need be. :)

Great. Well if you have room for 2-3 that'd be great barring you have enough for the requests. I apologize for sitting on the forums todsy I'm at a wedding this weekend and just sitting around right most of the day.
Pixie,
I'd love to have japanese primrose. If I could have 3, that would really get me started down at the creek. I'd love to have some of your columbine as well - a Nora Barlow and a Black Barlow if left. Thanks! Terri
Paul, what glorious weather for a wedding, but that also means it is glorious weather for yardening. I just came in for a bite of lunch, can barely move because of sore muscles from yesterday's work, and dirty as can be, but I am loving it!
Not down in Charleston sc.
20-25 mph winds and overcast.
Well then, I should have kept my mouth shut and then you wouldn't realize how beautiful it is here today LOL. Hey, I have a shade plant for you that I'll bring to the swap I'm sharing some of the plugs that I got for porteranthus 'pink profusion'. This plant is new to me - I have never seen it before, but it sounded interesting in the catalog. I'd sure like to hear feedback from those that end up with one to see how they like it and how well the plug grows out for them.
You hadn't spoken for one yet, but I think you'd enjoy it.

No that's sound great!!! Thank you for thinking of me.
UMD you got 3 no problem!
aspenhill you have 3 primrose & one each of the Nora & Black Barlow.
No more black barlow left.
Pixie, If you have any Primrose left, I would love to have them.
You got it Terri!
Came home from a half a day of planting and digging at my daughter's, with more 4 O'clocks.
I need to pot them up--but not tonight. Too pooped.....besides--This evening is "Making Pickles" time....
Just wanted you all to know I have more 4's.....Ignore the "all gone" note in my "haves"....
Got some more Montauk Daisies as well.
Gita
Pixie can I try a Nora please? Critter, Bill's caladiums are great!
We still didn't receive our order from Bill, would have been nice since we had our GH meeting today and a bunch of them went there. We have everything ready to go south tomorrow for the preswap tradeoff. Hopefully it will reduce all the stuff to each other we in the west end need to tote along.
thank you Pixie!!
.
Critter, I would love to buy 3 caladiums if you have some still. I've grown fond of them over the years have been overwintering indoors the few pots we have. I don't have a clue of the ID on the ones we have, but they don't look like Miss Muffet. They go dormant and come back every spring. I wrote a poem after my cousin passed away from cancer in his honor titled "the Caladium"... Bob used to always buy caladiums for his mom. I don't think he ever knew he could save them every year... anyway, thank you and see you soon!
ssgardener, you got it!!
I'll save you some caladiums, Wind! Have you shared that poem anywhere?
I try to save mine from year to year, but they seem to peter out on me after a couple of years. Guess I don't have "the touch" -- but no problem, I just order from Bill every so often. He definitely has the touch! :-)
Does anyone have variegated Swedish ivy?
Doesn't he have the touch? Ours look better this year also. A friend and I got Red Flash, FM Joyner and White Queen.
I only have the solid green Swedish ivy(thanks to Gita from a swap). It is looking great!!!
2 weeks left!!!
Reposting this from the previous thread, in case anyone missed it. I hadn't noticed we were on to a new one.
"I've added more daylilies to the list of ones I have available to bring. BTW, most will be coming bare root, as I don't have time to pot up or room in my car to bring a lot of pots. I'm not digging until right before I leave. Same for the hosta, irises and a few others.
Here's a list of what I just added: DL141 [NOID pale pink w/darker pink eye], Sparks Little Alex [small yellow], August Flame [late glowing red], Mary Todd [yellow], Irish Elf [mini yellow], DL8 [red-brown colors {one of my Mom's}], Saratoga Springtime [orange with orange/red eye], Lost Valley [fuchsia], Chicago Heather [pale lavender, tall], Canyon Lands [terra-cotta w/brownish eye], 94SLQA-2 (near white {one of my Mom's}], Cranview Meadow Mist [see pic on chat thread {one of my Mom's}], Cranview Fair Time [near white {one of my Mom's}, Cranview Blood Splatter Analyst [small red {one of my Mom's}], Cranview Alien Encounter [purple {one of my Mom's}], 710LY [peach seedling {NOT one of Mom's}], Annie Welch [peachy pink], Karen's Blueberry Dessert [purple-blue tones, {a NOID that I gave a garden name to}]
I also added light blue dwarf iris, which are blooming right now. I've never had trouble with borers on my dwarfs. They seem to like the TBI better."
Karen
Apenhill, I put you down for the daylilies you wanted.
Jan, I would love to have an oakleaf hydrangea if you have enough.
Gitagal, I'll take some four o'clocks if you have any. How about 4. Perhaps I'll put them around my mailbox, like your daughter did.
Here are some pics of my daylilies that I have available. From left to right: August Flame, Autumn Minaret, Cranview Alien Encounter, Cranview Estoy Caliente, Cranview Faery's Tutu. (last 2 I'm just adding).
Karen
Karen, would love to hace cranview's classy miss. Thanks, Buttoneer.
To that, please add Saratoga Springtime, 96 PMU-2 and Heart Throb and thank you so much for sharing such beautiful daylilies with us. Please give mine to HollyS since I won't be able to come to the swap because I have been taking care of my healing shoulder & my Bobbin who had a knee replacement on 4/22. Judy (Buttoneer)

wow Karen, you are nutsfordaylilies!! lucky us. can you please add on one more for me - you pick it
LOL! Yes, I am! Wind, I would rather you pick, what if I pick something you don't care for. I will be adding more pics tonight, so you could wait till tomorrow to choose if you'd like. I have a surplus of each, large clumps that need dividing, so there's plenty to go around.
Irish Elf, Saratoga Springtime, Lost Valley, Chicago Heather, Canyon Lands.
