Coffee Break # 95

Thomaston, CT

Oh, she's a cutie for sure!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

She is adorable, Debi!

Marilyn, how is Suey doing?

Thomaston, CT

Suey had her 4th chemo treatment today.....a very toxic one that the vet said could cause vomiting & diarrhea...they did give her 5 days of meds to combat that. Right now, she's doing well, no chemo next week, thank God! It took me an hour & a half to get home tonight, only 50 min. to get there. Friday afternoon traffic on 66, 691, & 84 is the pits! While at Hammonasset I met a man with 2 standard poodles....both 8, like Suey. One had chemo for a lung tumor in Jan. & he seems to be doing well.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

best wishes to Suey.. hugs to you

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Hopefully Suey will be just as successful as that poodle. And it will be because you were willing to spare no effort.

Thomaston, CT

Thanks.....she means an awful lot to me.......

Best wishes for Suey.

Great shot, Deb! Looks like fun.

Thanks, all.

Gorgeous day today!

Thomaston, CT

Thanks, Victor. How clever that film was!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

That's very encouraging for Suey, Marilyn! I'm so happy to hear that. Cancer treatments are now pretty amazing, and Suey seems to be quite healthy, so I would be quite hopeful as well.

Thomaston, CT

Thanks, Louise....how are your girls doing?

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Just great, thanks! My son kept them for us to go to a wedding at the Coast Guard Academy last Saturday night, and he gave them an A+ for behavior. They keep me smiling, for sure. They just roll with the punches and never stop smiling with their whole little bodies. I think another thing besides gardening we all seem to have in common is how much we adore our pets.

How true.....they are such little cuties, hard not to smile at them! Did you have fun at the wedding?

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

It was a lovely wedding and all the young cadets were so handsome crossing their swords to make an arch for the bride. The groom was the boxing coach, and they were his team members. We had one at our table, along with a lovely female cadet, and it was great fun watching them dance. The place was really rocking. Ahhhhh, youth!

By tomorrow night, we'll have two out of thee kids home from college. Feels like they're coming back from the hospital for the first time :)

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

when does Oberlin finish for the summer?

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

They're done May 18 but a lot of kids stay an extra week to perform at commencement a week later. We're planning a pretty neat trip out there with our pop-up trailer. First stop is Watkins Glenn SP (unless anyone thinks there's a better place to camp) and DD2 can visit her friends in Cornell. Then up through Buffalo on a Canadian route to Ann Arbor MI area for a visit with DH's family. He has 1 yo niece and nephew twins. I think my brother and SIL will meet up with us to see the art museum at Oberlin and visit too. We will get to meet DD1's boyfried for the first time.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I think Watkins Glenn is a good choice, we are planning a camping trip there this summer. Ithaca is good too, with a few state parks.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Deb.Ithaca is Gorges.LOL
Its a great area to hike and camp.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I'm running a 5K in July to help raise money for our hospitals in Maine. I always knew we had some of the best care in Maine but it's official now and I don't feel like im bragging. ^_^

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

That's good news, Celeste.

Hmm. We have to decide where to spend our time. If DD2 spends much time at Cornell visiting, then we could try Ithica area.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

you are awesome Celeste!!

Woohoo!!!!

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Cute enough to hug.

Arggh! I just learned that the Emerald Ash Borer has devastated Northern Ohio. There weren't many shady campsites there because they had to cut so many trees. Maybe I should plant a poplar behind my big ash tree. It is so tall and stately, it would be a shame to lose even one ash tree. I called the park people. They said as long as we don't bring any wood home we won't spread them.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

hello hummer!

terrible about the trees

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

see the story about those 3 rescued women in OH? truth IS stranger than fiction

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Amazing that neighbors didn't get suspicious. I still want to know how come there's no apparant evidence against the brothers.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Yeah that is so weird

Thomaston, CT

A miracle for 3 families......

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

the ash borer caused alot of cities and parks to cut down ash trees. It's very sad. the 3 ladies found is all over the news here. I'm 50 miles west of Cleveland.
