Wind, may I please have a rose of Sharon and aucuba cuttings?
Chat and swap thread for The RU at Jan23's on May 18th
Wind I'd like a Inky Fingers coleus also.
Have you talked to coleuslover123? I'm hoping she can come to this swap. She and Onewish have shared some nice coleus with me in the past.
One other question for you. The farm Sally Fallon (Nourishing Traditions book) has started is participating in my local Farmers Market. Do you have any knowledge of her approach to nutritious eating? I'm reluctant to post anything about it without testing the Mid Atlantic Forum waters a bit first.
Suggestions?
Also, do you know anything about ocas as a food source? Seems we can grow them here. How's your quinoa doing?
At least I hope to get to chat with you some at Jans Swap!
Enjoy this warm weather week ahead.
Judy
I have not been able to keep coleus alive over winter. I'd like any coleus cuttings. Not too particular about color or form. And also sweet potato vines.
Thanks Critter! I’ll try a Zepherin Drouhine climbing rose too if it roots for you.
SSG: I have a good clump of variegated lioripe for you. It is a slower grower than its counterpart, which I have a ton of, take that into consideration when dividing it. I would like to try the shrub fertilizer pellets.
Chantel: I’d like to try some Hoya lacunosa cuttings, I saw Terri’s and I like the foliage. Pretty neat.
Roses: The Lisitanthus I found are hardy to zone 8? Are yours indoor plants? Could you tell me a little more about them? I’m a tad green. I would be interested in the ivory and blue.
Thanks, Paul. I got variegated liriope a couple of years ago from Sally, and they have stayed exactly the same. I don't think they've grown one extra leaf.
Paul, the Lisianthus seeds that I bought classify them as "annual". I think that they might make a bulb that could be lifted. I'll look into that more. In the meantime, I have you down for a blue one and an ivory one.
I'm starting to ID more plants from Bec_nova as they wake up.
I have several chocolate vines from her garden. They're semi evergreen and apparently considered invasive in our area, so they should probably be kept in containers.
Here's the DG info page on it: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/369/
FYI
All of the Spring Swap at Jans threads are now stickied at the top of our forum.
This should help the organizationally challenged among us
(we know who we are! lol)
to always be able to easily find all Spring Swap threads.
Just look at the top of the forum.
When these threads have served their useful life they will be 'un- stickied'
I think I got everyone's requests. I'll be updating my list over the weekend too.
Judy, I'm not familiar with Sally Fallon's approach to nutritious eating. I'm all in favor for most approaches to nutritious eating... keyword "nutritious" lol. And, I haven't spoken with Coleuslover since last summer. The inky finger cuttings were from her plants. I looooooved them!!
Gita, they do trail and yes, they look like more stalks than leaves now but will leaf out given larger pots and warm outdoor weather.
Working on my veggie garden this year, so if anyone has veggie plants to share I would love some
also any miniatures, short less than 10" for shade for my fairy gardens
I'd like to try some "inky fingers" if you have some extra, Diana
So would I, Inky Fingers please if you still have them.
Jen, I have a chance to by some mini hosta tonight from the local Hosta club. Would you be interested in those and if so which ones do you already have? I don't have prices for them other than they would be cheaper than if bought at a store.
I have Mouse Ears and "had" Little Jay but it didn't come back this year, if they have that that would be great!....let me know what I owe you
I bought hush puppies and one of the mouse ears last year. The minis are cute but so small.I hope they come back, iI hhaven't looked.
I would love some minis! I'm not picky, but interesting or variegated leaves would be nice. I've only seen Mouse Ears in person and would love to try growing it.
I will pick up what I can and then you can decide if you are interested in any of them if not I can find a place for them. The man that runs the Hosta Society is also a member of our HGHA and he did a little talk about them. He plants his mini hosta in pots to display them, they were really beautiful and I just so happened to pick up several pots today. LOL
Cute. I looked at joining the hosta society locally here. It is hard to commit to though, I don't even go to the meetings in my rhodo club. There is never enough thyme.

Heehee, UMD
Oops, I meant to say I've never seen Mouse Ears in person, only on line.
It seems there are a couple of Becky's roses that are now waking up. It anyone interested in climbers? They were very severely cut back for transport but putting out new growth from the base.

hi Jen, thanks for the avitar idea!!
Hey Diana! Sally started it
Things I'll have just for starters, need to see what else comes up...
Lambs ears 'helen von stein'
Korean lilac 'palibin'
Anemone (may be 'serenade', not sure but it is a pink)
Phlox divaricata (noid)
Daffodil 'thalia'
Aspenhill -- I'd love a start of your anemone.
Critter: I'd love your cuttings of Crooked Willow and/or Lonicera Americana and/or Coral Honeysuckle -- I'm happy to root them myself.
Aspenhill, I'd love a try of the anemone as well
Roses, I'll put you down for some. I'm not sure how much I have yet but there was some growing that I eyed up for the swap. I'll put your name on it.
Happy and Paul - I have you down for the anemone. One more left if any more interest.
Aspenhill, I'd love some phlox div.
Ty!
UMD TERP. Could I have a Hershey's red please?
I will have a shovel, so maybe if there is something anyone would like and I have more than one of you can dig it out the day of the swap.
Happy, I'd love a slender deutzia - been on my want list for a while from discussions over in the shade gardening forum.
Can I be second in line, happy? For the slender.

Paul--
I would like a couple of your Nandinas. They would be for my back yard neighbor.
Please give any DG'ers asking for them priority. OK????
My neighbor can wait, or go buy his own.
His wife is crazy about this shrub--and i was trying to "be a nice neighbor".....
He helps me now and then with difficult things....
And--you wanted Woodland perennials.....Holly has Wood Poppy.
It self-seeds a lot....
Thanks--Gita
boy there is some heavy swapping going on here !
Hey Sallyg if you want to play along, I would be honored to be your Plant Swap Fairy/Ferry!
Judy (Coleup)
Gita they are the native Va Blue Bells.

Terp and Aspen: I'd be delighted to root some slender deutzia for you -- I can't tell you how much I love that shrub. It remains to be seen whether it will root this time of the year, because it is preparing to flower, but I'll try it, and if not I'll do it in June when it is sure to root and I can get them to you locally. I'll root you 3 or 4 each.
