All beauties drthor!

My garden is in a horrible state this spring due to my shoulder injury but I am still getting to enjoy some of my old standbys.
Blanket flowers in all color combinations are springing up in the grasses. My Maggie rose is solid blooms and smells great from far away.
I don't know what this lovely flower is, I have several bunches of them any one know?

Joy, your last flower id Blue Eyed Grass.

(Joy) Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

Wow, thanks Josephine, it is such a happy flower.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

The poppies are starting to bloom! Funny thing is, I didn't sow any last year. All the poppies from this year are self-sown.

Granite spiderwort

Unknown rose that blooms faithfully every spring and fall with no attention from me.

Even my poppies haven't started to bloom. I can see the plant but no blooms, it was a beautiful day tho. My larkspur are about 6' tall. These beds are usually packed with flowers, we've had rain the only thing I can think of is the crazy temps!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

If we can string together a couple weeks of sunny days....look out!

Arlington, TX

Mine have no blooms either. I planted them kind of late so I thought that was the issue.

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

I direct sow all my flowers. I just toss them or they reseed. I put a lot of seeds out this year, in the fall and winter. But all I see is dirt. Lol

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I have some poppies growing in my backyard flower garden that have been planted by the birds or blew on the wind because I've never tossed seeds out back there. Go figure!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

They may be from plants I shared with you as I sprinkled poppy seed everywhere last fall. LOL!
Pictures were taken last week when the wind was up so look tattered.

Beautiful, Sheila!

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

That foliage looks very familiar....I seem to remember those flowers. Lol

It's so strange, there are less bugs ATM then normal for his time of year and I still haven't seen any hummers. My wisteria is finally starting to bloom.

Irving, TX(Zone 8a)

I also have free Poppies every year ... they flew in the back garden too ... I love Poppies. They remind me of the summers in Italy.
Columbine is very tall this year and Morning Glory is already blooming.

Beautiful color on that iris! I see you like bunnies too.

(Carole) Cleveland, TX(Zone 9a)

Yep! Sure do, Sheila! I've got them all over. If I had my way I'd have turtles, flamingos, bunnies and dragonflies all over. I'd drive DH crazy tho, and he supports my gardening efforts, so I need to behave a little anyway lol

Flowers just keep coming this spring.

For some reason the bees dont like this sedum much. The others I have are covered in bees when they bloom.

I like that red rose, does it smell as lovely as it looks?

(Carol) Euless, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, it does smell lovely. I open my front door and smell roses. Love it!
Cheryl, your flowers are so beautiful! What are the leaves in the pic with your sedum? I got some sedum from Dennis at the round-up and can't decide where to put it. Yours looks very happy.

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

I'm happy to report I have 1 Red Shirley poppy that is finally blooming, there are more to follow. It's hard to believe they have just started to bloom but maybe this cooler weather will keep them around longer. These are self sowed as I didn't put any here this year.

Arlington, TX

A bulb that didn't bloom. Not sure which one, perhaps paperwhites. I have 4 types of sedum and all but one is very happy here. I pull up buckets full each year.

Spiderwort in full bloom.

Prairie Verbena in the late afternoon sun.

The dainty huechera in bloom. Hard to get a good pic of those tiny blooms.

I think your second pic is phlox pilosa, not prairie verbena?

Houston Heights, TX(Zone 9a)

My columbine, Hinckleyana, bloomed today. My camera battery was dead when I went to get the photo but I put it to charge and then forgot. I'll get it tomorrow. Ive never grown a columbine before and these were looking really healthy but no blooms. I guess they needed the rain.

Houston Heights, TX(Zone 9a)

Here's my columbine and some others. I have a lot blooming now but most of it Ive already posted.
2. dianthus, 3. my "hats" 4. giant turks cap 5. Gaura.
