I suspect it was Mz. Becky as in Miss Becky, and not Ms. Becky ... just splitting hairs!
Continued Support for Becky as she's Alabama bound
Once you learn the language you can add that as a new supported feature in your translation business HA HA HA. I admit, I love southern accents.
Alrightey - so I got my results back from last weeks surgery and there is good and bad news, the good news is they found the primary, the bad is I need more treatment since there were live cells - looks like I'll be arriving in AL and starting treatments almost immediately - I'll know on Tuesday exactly what kind of treatments, probably chemo/radiation
I do believe you are right, happy
Glad they found it and and glad you will be in good hands. Continued prayers dear heart!
Oh no. Crapola. Will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers for this next phase. Try to keep your spirits up.
So sorry for the bad news part. Well I can see you lounging on a Southern Veranda sipping tea with a light shawl draped over you while you recoup.
Ugh, not the easiest way to transition to a new state, but it's a good thing you have such a cautious doctor, and that you're going to an area with even more good docs.
Your plants are doing great, btw, and your beautiful planters have found good homes!
Good update: found a fantastic canter center in H'Ville that has great feedback and reviews, Reed is coordinating the transfer, getting everything set up and it looks like I'll start immediately after I get there - they want me started as soon as possible - I'll get radiation every day for 6 weeks, chemo (Cisplatin) every Monday
Ms Becky, now that they have found that primary platypus, will any of your treatments be more specific?
Are treatment like a course of antibotics in that once you start they are continuous until finished, with no skipping?
Glad the new homing is so soon. A third of an acre is a lot of garden space!
Yes, treatments will be tumor area specific - no skipping except weekends for 6 weeks
What a flippin (Or another f word...) roller coaster. I'm sorry to hear this isn't quite behind you yet. But if this is what it took to find the primary platypus and get it done...well then I guess the whole plan just wasn't apparent before.
Maybe you were meant to go to Alabama all along for this new treatment center.
Wishing you continued strength...and lots of chocolate, wine , roses, etc...
Honestly, while I'm so sorry for this setback and the timing couldn't be worse, I think it is really great news that they found the primary, Miss Becky. Suppose they had missed it? Now they know what to focus on. This is really good luck to be thankful for. That's my position and I won't budge.
They are focusing alright, now they are also wanting to do yet another MRI of the liver "just in case" the 3 other masses are NOT FNH as originally thought (we know the biggest mass is NOT cancer) - still waiting to decide exactly what kind of treatment I'll be staring the minute I get there - yes, I am glad they are being thorough, just frustrated that it seems never-ending
So sorry to hear you require further treatment, Miss Becky, but thankful yer' still here to get it. Prayin' Ya'll respond quickly and are soon on the mend.
Yay for thorough!!
Hang in there! Roll tide.
Love that, Paul!!
Getting SO close now!!! Had the last of the plants dug up in the front yard (the ones that weren't up in Feb) - they are going to a really good friend who'll appreciate them very much :) Next week starts "hell week" - getting everything done that needs to be done, packers and movers...start treatment pretty much immediately after we move in to new house, I really need to save the pictures I have to the laptop so I can share the backyard, house etc
Becky, the move and new house must be pretty exciting. I would love to see pictures when you get a chance.
Wow Becky! Praying for a clean bill of health to go with that clean palette of a yard and house. You so deserve both!

Becky, can I just move in to your kitchen? And that yard! Your pets will be in heaven!
I hope the next couple of weeks go smoothly for you.
WOW!!! WOW!!! Becky!!!
What an amazing house you will have! Looks cavernous---so much space and so pretty...
I love stone houses--and yours' stone front is amazing...How did you find this gem?
Who is doing all the building and painting?
Your yard is like a blank slate---You will have so much room to turn it in your own special gardens...
And--many of us will be happy to send you seeds and starts and bulbs and roots to make this happen...
I wish you a safe transfer--and many loving hours spent in your new house. Take care of yourself...
Best to you with all the treatments to come too. I know you will come through it in spades.
You ARE "Just that tough".........
From an old "softy" God speed------- Gita
Many blessings, dear. Awesome blank slate!!
Thanks everyone - I found it online, Greg went and looked at it and we decided to go for it - prices in AL are ridiculously low compared to here, we got SO much custom stuff done included for a little bit extra - Greg flies up here on the 3rd, we leave on the 4th and arrive the 5th - close on the house on the 6th and off we go - I picked all the colors and extra stuff, like the fridge, the fence, the built in lanai...the front has little to no area to plant, but the back!!! OMG, what fun I will have (health allowing)! I will be planting trees for shade this year, thinking Magnolias (allowed by HOA) - the grass is Bermuda, like they use everywhere in FL, and there is a sprinkler system :) I'll probably also order quite a few vines to plant along the back of the house, I read the HOA covenants and they 'claim' not to be too difficult with plants, just 'major' landscaping will need permissions...so I'll be a good girl and ask what I can and cannot do :)
WOW Beck I knew you were moving to a new home but didn't realize it really was a "new" home. Sure does look beautiful and what a blank slate you have to work with.
I'm searching for apps that will allow me to make a plan for what I want to do - I'm sure I can find a gardening service that will do the digging for me and the planting of the new trees - which are the first things going in...yup, we went with all new, originally we weren't going to (due to previous experience here) - but, the price, the location was just too good to pass up - the builder is a good one, doesn't put up a house in 2 months like they do here & it passed inspection with flying colors
Absolutely stunning home Bec! I am amazed by your back yard, and like everyone else has said, you have a clean slate to start with! I too, would be thinking about trees right off... good call on your part!
I pray that your new home will give you peace you will need in your healing!
Karen
Beautiful house Beck, love the lanai, you could actually fit my compost pile in your new yard. LOL
Becky--
I just looked at all your pictures again--and am still impressed beyond words....
LOVE, LOVE all the stone work!!!
I have a couple of questions---hope I haven't missed the info if you posted it already...
--Did you buy this house as "New--under construction--unfinished" and it is now being finished by the builder--
Or--was it finished--but all the interior work was what was NOT finished--and it is now being done
as you wish it to be--design-wise. I love all the touches...the scroll work in the doors and windows--
the moldings at the ceiling---all those little touches that is just YOU.
--And a silly question---those little, lit alcoves in the main entryway(?)--what will you put in there?
I would imagine it would have to be something VERY treasured and beautiful---or very meaningful.
Or--a vase of fresh flowers from your garden--when you have one.....
I can imagine all of us will caravan one day and drive down to visit you. How many hours of a drive is it???
Safe travels to you---Gita
Dear Becky - first off I apologize for not keeping up with your reports of the last few months. 2013 has been a crazy one for me and I can't seem to keep up with all that I have going on. Something has to give and for some time it has been reading and keeping up on Dave's. I am really excited about attending the upcoming swap if things go as planned. Along with the others who said we will miss at this one and others in the future unless you might be able to catch one in the future.
Along with other commenters I too am thrilled for your exciting new home. It will be so great to decorate and landscape as you want. That will go a long ways in helping to keep your mind on the positive. I know some years back when faced with health issues if I hadn't had gardening to occupy my mind, I might have lost it...hahaha Anyway...what great fun you have ahead.
Again, that the latest test results aren't what you wanted........you do want to them to help rid of any sort of cell that shouldn't be there, so good that your doctors are being overly careful with you. Yes maam, I do understand how tiring the whole process is and the waiting is sometimes the worst part of the deal. I will rejoice with you the day you can look back and this time and remember it as a time when you were really put to the test and as always you came out the victor. Rooting for you 200%.
I am so very glad that we live in the age we do and we can live many miles apart but still be a part of one another's lives. You along with some others here have most certainly played a major part in my life since I found Dave's Garden while researching vacuum cleaners....of all things. I hate to think of the emptiness that might have been my life before you good people. So many of you are a lot more important to me than you will ever know. I came here and was much like yourself......immediately plagued with several health issues that the group here helped get me through. I am forever indebted to the good friends in this group. Heck, if you Becky decide to host a Mid Atlantic plant swap I would do my best to travel due south to attend. I do hope that there will be future opportunities for you and many of us here to get together....where ever it be.
Much love and good wishes coming to you today.
Ruby
Thank all :)
Gita - to answer your questions - it was/is a new house under construction (done now) and I had the final say in the paint colors, the lanai, the fence, fridge and a few other things (all in all we asked for about 20K of extra stuff)...I'd venture to say it was nearly done when we found it and fell in love with it - I saw it online, Greg went and took a look and loved it! The little alcoves aren't that little actually...about 3.5' by 3.5 feet and pretty deep - still pondering what to put there, but it'll come to me as we live in it for a while, same with pictures and more decorating - while I have already picked out some light fixtures and carpets already, I need to live in the house and get to "know it" to know what I want to do :)
