Thomaston, CT

Happy the strawberries were good!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

love our Aldi... they fly at our checkouts.. guess you need NJ speed.. LOL.. Cheese & crackers are great.. soda is cheap for a party.. yogurt is more than 1/2 price.. even the Fage is $1.18 everyday price.. love a bunch of the frozen things.. can't beat bread for $.90 (I think).. Victor it's there own brands most of the time.. but once in a while they have a name brand product.. and it's always cheaper than the regular stores.. the produce is unbeatable... go there all the time.. esp those weeks we might have an extra bill to pay or just a tight week.. doesn't have a huge selection of any one thing.. but we just kept trying a few things here and there and figured out what we liked

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Do you want to make your own?
http://www.gluten-free-diet-help.com/gluten-free-cookie-recipe.html

I never had them but Annie's has them and they have great gluten free stuff
https://annies.alice.com/products/1275986

also Lucy's makes good cookies so I'm sure the ginger snaps are just as good

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Annie's didn't have good reviews on amazon.. can always try to make my own.. I did find a five star one.. Mary's gone crackers.. and they have them at a store near here.. thinking I will try them this weekend.. but thanks.. was wondering if you knew of a good one already

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I'm not a ginger snap fan, had a bad experience with ginger once, so if it has a really strong ginger smell I can't even try it

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I love them!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Me too, but make gingerbread cookies more often.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Meatloaf tonight. I use the recipe on the Lipton's Onion Soup mix. We all love it.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

That is a good recipe, add a little hot Italian sausage for some extra kick. DH always told me my sisters meatballs were better, even though we used the same recipe until she finally told me that trick.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Always loved my mom's meatballs. Beef, pork and veal makes all the diff. Beef alone never tastes good to me. Same with meatloaf.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I haven't tried all three, actually have never eaten veal.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I don't like veal on its own, but in the ground mix, it's fine.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Chicken tenders, french fires and garden salad..
New recipe I tried tonight....chocolate cake with salted caramel frosting.

CAKE:
2 cups sugar
1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water

SALTED CARAMEL:
4 tablespoons water
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1/2 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon salt, kosher or sea

FROSTING:
2 sticks butter
8 ounces or 1 package of Philly cream cheese
5 to 6 cups powdered sugar
1 cup salted caramel (recipe above)

It is an extremely moist, perfect scratch cake, the only beef I have is that I don't care for cream cheese. So I will make this again using a different frosting recipe with no CC. If you like chocolate cake, a cream cheese frosting and caramel... than I think you'll like this combo. Brian did!!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

ooooohhhh you know I won't ASK.. but I will always be happy to receive.. LOL

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I just looked at a similar recipe, for Samoa cupcakes, with a salted caramel buttercream frosting.
A good frosting with cream cheese is to make a basic cream cheese frosting, and make sweetened whip cream, about equal parts, then fold them together. It tastes light and not too cheesy.

Thomaston, CT

Chocolate & caramel is always a winner! I love veal, especially Veal Marsala....My Mom would sometimes put raisins in her meatballs...kept them very moist....I will sometimes put capers in.....

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

That's the same recipe I use for choc cake, I put in a cup coffee instead of water. The caramel sounds great!
Not a veal fan at all...all beef mb for us...

Sloppy Joe's and mac and cheese.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)
