Betty, the weather is supposed to warm up a tad here....so wait to go into town. To cold out there!!!
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends
Will go tomorrow and pick up what they have..need to go to post office to send out my rock/stone swap item and will mail at same time if they have some
Yes mamma Debbie, in my Jammie's, gong to make hot chocolate and do some web surfing. Lol
yes Betty sharpener would be great to, just let me know what I owe when you send....you are an Angel ^_^
Just popping in to sing the praises of the young man, Zach, at Seagate. Not only did he explain how to recover stuff, he connected to my computer and did all the work. I think I got him when i said I just couldn't lose all the pics of my Australian grandbabies.....GRIN. I did not mean to mislead him, but think he thought I was "not computer savvy" enough to pull it off. He did in 10 minutes what it would have taken me a couple hours to do as he knows all the shortcuts. Really nice and very helpful.
Dianne, OUCH...know Diesel was excited to play...and sure he was sorry....buy that doesn't take care of the bruises. So glad it was not worse.
Debbie, good news on Paul's results. I know you are both relieved.
Waving to everyone, hope you all have a good night.
Jean
Jean, you are a sly one! So glad you've saved all those photo's, Australian grandchildren or not..lol. These young ones sure are computer savey
Glad to hear you got all your files and pics back! That must have been a big relief!
Ouch, Dianne - I'm sure Diesel was sorry..... and really glad that Quill is doing better!!
Jean - Australian grandbabies?! lol
I agree that last wishes are to be honoured, and if they aren't honoured then I understand the family NOT supporting it in any way.....
Morning all,
Lazy this morning, body isn't enthused at the thought of going to work...maybe another coffee will do the trick.
Since I've been back there has been a giant sized cat I find sitting every morning on my back deck furniture, screen is closed but it's able to push the door open..kind of has a pug face..was thinking of putting out food incase it's hungry but with the size of him he is not lacking food, besides don't need another kitty!
Yawning so better get at it before I cover myself up and nod off
This message was edited Jan 8, 2013 8:28 AM
Be careful of the stray cats Betty.
Size doesn't mean he isn't hungry, he could have been left or dropped of by someone. Pug face is a purebred of sorts....they paid big $$ for him and could
be lost. A little food and kindness won't hurt
will do Debbie, but he has been around over the past year from time to time but NOT on my good set of loungers..lol
Not really frightened of me but when I open the door off he goes..
Diane, Diesel is like my Jenny. She love to jump on me and refuses to learn not to. If she gets a running start it's like being hit by a pro football defensive end. She thinks she's still a little puppy and she's not. It wasn't OK when she was a puppy and it's dangerous now but she won't learn. It's like with Max, I've had to learn to prepare myself when she comes at me. My dogs are training me well.
I think I've had a touch of flu the past couple of days. Mostly aches and pains which have kept me in bed a lot. Better this morning.
No package from you, Betty. I only check the mail once a week or so as I have to go into town and check at the post office. If it's not there next time I'll be sure to leave Mario the post man my phone # so he can call when it comes in. Mail can be very slow here.
Dana and her husband Tom and I share a cat named Chocolate. We both feed him and he tells both of us that no one feeds him. Poor thing. Their other cat, Loca, comes to visit now and then but doesn't eat here. Yet.
Max still growls and snaps if disturbed at night but does not react if swatted for something (like jumping on me) when he's awake. Tony is here now so I'll get his help with the jacket.
hugs, katie
Guess it's only been a week or so since I've posted it Katie..I'm more anxious to see IF you get it. You have been getting parcels from some of the girls though so there is a change yet. Laughing at how the animals are training you, think they all train us don't they.
went downstairs to Zellers to look for a hoop to start painting on my fabric, better than using something under the fabric and it bleed through..was a no go so might get Suzanne to keep an eye on the office and go to fabricland, they for sure sell hoops and at same time see if there are any trinkets for the girls who wanted them..
Thunder and LindaKay, made an error, those little yellow Fiskars were not for rotary cutter but for scissors..did you still want one..not sure how I thought they were for the cutter but perhaps there are two kinds or I just did not read properly..Ive been know to do that
Yes Betty, I still want one. Still a great bargain!
Don't forget your fabric medium when you go shopping.
BETTY!!!!! How could you NOT have told me about a ROCK swap!!!!! Geesh! Oh well, keep me in mind next time you hear of one. Yep, planning on stuffing the car full of rocks! I'll have to remind myself that I'll still have to bring my mushroom forms home, too!
Off with Sue Taynors today for a girls day out. She's due any minute now. Off to Jared's and then Jungle Jims. Have to pick DGD Emma up at 3:30 to take her to a Dr's appt. Then back home in a hurry to get to plasma donation on time. Garden club tonight at 7:00. Anyone tired with me yet?
Yes I will take a sharpener, and a few of the scallop blades. please and thank you. If they have pinking blade that cheap, I would take 2 of those too !
shopped myself right out of energy yesterday, did not get anything done in the house.... going to clean out a bathroom cupboard, after hubs gets up, think I will tackle one shelf....can just imagine whats in there!! the shelves are VERY deep cant reach the back even if I stretch!! I think we both have added to it, by just pushing what is there more towards the back....for the past 12 years !!! time to clean it out !! we bought some new sheets, and realized we have no where to put them !!! YUP time to clean.
if that does not take all day, I will do some sewing. found nifty new bag pattern I want to try !!! and I have a few valentines to work on :)
Joyce, we grab a rock, where ever we go. Florida does not have much in the way of nice rocks. keep telling my sons to bring me a few when they come home for a visit, butttttt the brats , they keep forgetting !
We 've got your number Joyce, knew you'd be picking up rocks...and yes, you've tired me out. Enjoy the day with Sue and please give her a gigantic hug for us all. As for my rock swap, with all going on and my not feeling good I've send my swap exchange with somethat that includes agate (stone/rock), bit off track I guess but hope she likes it.
Thunder, need to do the same but think I'll save the major washroom clean up till my brother comes to put in new counter top and zinc...called him this morning, he said he'd try and come on the weekend to see exactly what I want done...now let's hope he does.
picked up fabric medium this morning at Walmart, now I'm waiting for lunch hour to go to Fabricland and see what they have left then off to the post office.
the cupboard has three shelves, and a huge space at the bottom. I did the bottom a few weeks ago, so now I must tackle the shelves.....
the problem is when I feel like I could do it, hubs is still in bed. by the time he gets up I am involved in something else....and who wants to stop a project to clean a cupboard?? not I :)
Good Morning.
Yes, I was beyond relieved to find my Aussie Grandbabies' pictures were safe. I even have the pics of the sonograms my DD sent and first pics from the hospital the day they were born. Just to be safe, we are sending those picture files to DH's computer and he will back them up on his external drive also. Still think I may upload them to Photo Bucket....may be overkill, but they are irreplaceable.
Hope you all have a good day. Hope each of you has cause to smile today.
Jean
Thunder, sounds like the sample packs they send home from the hospital with a newborn.
I wish I could go up in the attic and do the same!!! Way too cold.
I made chicken and biscuits for dinner, waiting for DH to get home to eat. It smells so so good.
Debbie
Wish I was eating with you Debbie, I bought a container of veggies and dip. I'll much while playing bingo.
Darlene called me this afternoon, she was ready to fly back..seems her evil sister was acting up, guess she had (meaning sister) too much to drink, sent Darlene e-mails all night running her and Mike down, just horrid things..finally calmed down..thank God. Then I decided I would go to the seniors complex to check on Mae, Darlene's mom, had a nice visit..just got home, had my bath and now waiting for Ann, tv bingo night. Guess she will tell me all about her young nephew taking a turn for the worse, all so upsetting.
Will be an early night afterwards unless I win the jackpot and cant't sleep lol
Thunder, sounds like you found some treasures..sure is organized, now how long will it last..if like me it will be full by the weekend...
Oooh. Ann's here, gab later
wow Thunder - does that mean you're "expecting"? LOL
Betty / Joyce.... believe it or not, I collect rocks/stones.... mostly stones cuz I carry them home lol I've put some out in the garden, and my most memorable one was found under our enclosed deck when Bob had to pull some of the rotten timbers off a couple of years ago. It's about 1.5 ft, very thin, and lots of quartz in it. Bigger than a stepping stone. Love it - it's in my garden out front.
Every time we go camping near a creek / river I pick up rocks & stones.
Am I able to join your "rock club"? lol
Morning all,
don't you just hate it when you cannot sleep, makes for a long night!
Got up, had a bath, watched a movie, tried sleeping again and still no go.
Likely it's my talks with Darlene and Ann last night that has my adrenaline going.
Bet I'm not the only one up, Dianne you there?
Susan, think we are not the only rock collectors in this club, gardeners seem to have same penchant for rocks. When I did my first pond seems every night on the way home I'd travel the back roads searching for rocks to circle the pond as a way of holding down the liners.
Morning everyone!
Sure hope you got some sleep Betty.
Morning LK. Are you up and on the way to work Betty or just sleeping in as you were up most of the night? I so dislike nights when I can't sleep. That's when I sit in the sewing room and plan....
We went and watched our youngest granddaughters at their gymnastics yesterday. Made for a long day as it is 60 miles away. One was from 12:30 to 2:30 and then the other was from 5:50 to 6:50. The youngest has the two hour class and at five years old is simply amazing. She is soooo strong. The 9 year old has school full time so only goes for an hour. She does well but dosn't seem to have the desire the little one has. Each to their own niche..... But it was fun and they were happy to have Grammy and Papa there.
Today is a cut out day for more totes. Got six done on Monday and want four more before we go up to the hospital next week.
Hope today is a great one for everybody.....
These were done with fabric from Thunder....
Hey Barb, it is awesome to watch the Grand kids in their activities!
Love those bags! I know the kids really appreciate getting their own tote bag!
Awesome Barb, you sure are committed to making things that will put a smile on the face of the young ones. God Bless You!
Nice that you can attend the grandaughters events, makes them want to shine.Everyone excels in their own niche as you say..just look at their grandma.
Yes I'm at work, got little sleep, had to sing to myself on the way in to keep away.
Got 3 hoops of sketched morning glories that need painting..ought to keep me awake for a bit~
Mornin' everyone. Betty, that is so sad to read about Darlene's experience......can relate to some of those things. Hope you can stay awake today and drive home safely!!! That always scares me about not getting a good night sleep.
Barb, as usual the bags are wonderful. Need more materials? Contents? Isn't it fun watching the grandchildren in their activities.
Hope everyone is doing great today, going to "pamper" myself as I did something rather dumb yesterday. No, no confessions just let it go as I shouldn't have been so energetic. Off to the sewing machine and not much more.
Sure hope you did not fall, and or twist that knee???
Marion you are misbehaving again..shaking my finger at you.
Bet Kim gives you the whatfor..
Good Morning.
This is not a good day to venture outside....nor will it be through Wednesday of next week. We have had over 5 inches of rain here since Sunday, and the forecast says at least a 40 to 50% chance of rain every day through next Wednesday. Flood watches are in effect for our area and most of the southern part of the state.
Mary, I hope you have your umbrella close at hand....they say we may get a short break in the rainfall on Thursday....but it will be on again Thursday night. Out temps are going up into the 70's right now, but there is a cold front behind all this rain, so they will drop by next week to 40's daytime and low 30's at night, so a real possibility of icy roads next week.
LK, looks like you may be getting the trailing edge of this Mexican born storm and it may even generate a bit of rain all the way over to Marion's.
Hope you all have a lovely day.
Jean
it has been raining here for two days. Sure wish there was a way to teach the dog, not to track in the mud!
I hear ya...muddy dog prints and wet cat feet...and the cats are NOT happy with the weather. Grin
Thanks for the "heads up" Jean. We could use some more rain in spite of the fact I am getting cabin fever from this dreary weather.
Kim did not give me "whatfor" or say anything after I confessed to her what I had done. Just had this little "knowing" smile....hummm wonder where she got that from? Nope no falls or twisting of the knee. Just another activity I have been restricted from.....thought I could do just a little...not!
We had some rain here the other night - very unusual for this time of year. It's been colder than usual, too. Tony said the temp this morning was 9.
I've been sleeping more than usual. I think I have a bug but luckily it's fairly mild so there's not much pain involved, just a feeling of sloth. If I tell myself Ii'm just being lazy and try to push through it I usually mess something up or end up sound asleep in the early afternoon. I know I'm also vulnerable to falling or doing myself some other injury (is everyone paying attention?). Luckily the dogs are always happy to cooperate with lying down a lot and being careful not to overdo.
The Thunder jacket did not do much for Max. He issue is about survival, not anything he feels towards me. He is gradually getting better (or I'm being more aware). We will see what happens.
I'm still doing laundry and dishes (the piles never end) but an also gradually getting work on the planters done.
It's warmed up a bit so I will probably also work in the garden for a while. I have one small watermelon that looks almost ready to pick. We've lots of lemons and small, but sweet, red grapefruit. Wish I could share them with all of you.
hugs, katie
Katie, do you think Betty & the others will get your hint about slowing down and resting before they do damage? I won't hold my breath!
That jacket for the dogs comes in handy when traveling, going to the vet and thunder storms, etc...high anxiety times. My friend Sandy
was leaving it on Andre' for several hours and it was doing him a world of good if storms were approaching. Sure was hoping it would help Max out.
Watermelon sounds great! I went the "Bill Cosby" chocolate cake route for breakfast this morning ...but had a brownie instead of cake! lol
Had an early dermatology appointment and a few spots done, was not much fun but needed. Came straight back home.
Debbie
Yup, Andre can be a handful when the sky rumbles...but he is a sweetie....can"t imagine why she calls him Demon Child......GRIN
Moon, he is in the kennel for a few days...I think a birthday treat to her!
