We ended up leaving the island on Thurs night instead of yesterday morning as we figured the weather would stop the planes and ferries from running on Friday which they did due to the high winds. We didn't want to miss our Thursday night family Solstice Party in Boston so we had to do a mad dash to get everything done a day early and catch the last boat out of dodge. We drove up to Vt from Boston after the party and got here at midnight. We had power when we arrived, but not for long as it went out from about 1 am until around 9:30 am this morning. Brook was raging. Tomorrow we have to do a round trip drive to NYC to fetch our son. It will be another long day, but Christmas comes but once a year. Have a wonderful holiday all. Here's to us all having some good times in tame weather. Patti

DH and I went by ourselves, the NYS thruway was pretty clear on the way out and totally dry on the way home so worried for nothing. Enjoyed seeing all the family.

It's 20 degree's now, partly cloudy with a high of 29 today.

Deb and I live a couple of miles from each other.The snow is pretty and a welcome cover for the garden.
I hope I feel like thin on Feb.

Teens tomorrow morning - ughh I have to go to work. It get cold back in the back of the grocery stores. The doors are open a lot for deliveries. Shiver me timbers.

Merry Christmas......roads were icy this morning heading up to the farm at 8:30 for breakfast....then sunshine, temps in the high 30s....a lovely day....Pixie, loved Charlie on his vehicle!

Storm predicted for late Wed--early Thurs, better think about a few groceries which are lacking for my menus.

Big blizzard comming starting late today and into Thursday up to 14 inches expected.
I will be on salads for a few weeks just trying to rid myself of the salt bloats from crismis dinner.

Same here, starts tonight , goes into Thursday afternoon. 12 -14" with 40 mph gust. Will be bringing up wood by the fireplace today. Nothing I like better than a roaring fire during a blizzard. ^_^

I am grocery shopping early this AM and then hunkering down for the storm.

was 12 here this morning - we are on the border line of snow or snow/sleet/ice - anywhere from 6 to 12" - give one guess hoping for :)

a very thick blanket - I spent a few hours hiking my xcountry ski trail clearing any fallen trees with a hand pruning saw last weekend. hard work as some of the trees where 12" thick - conservation land so did not want to lug my chainsaw in there and it is 3 or 4 miles of hiking - anyway good exercise and it is cleared and ready for some snow :)

I never cleared land like that even when I was his age. Have to pick up odds & ends at the store. We are down to one egg. 25° & sunny.

There were only a dozen that needed sawing others i could drag off the trails and into the woods.

Storm will start as snow, then change to freezing rain, then rain......we need the rain! Right now it's cloudy, & 30....

28 and snowing. we are under blizzard advisory as it's blowing too. calling for 6-10" of snow.

Supposed to get 2-4 inches, then some ice, before changing to rain tomorrow.

Ugh! On a happier note, I think I bought a car after searching since Aug.! My son is looking at it tonight, so I'm waiting for his go ahead....2008 Ford Expedition....should be as good as my Tahoe in snow....nothing is good on ice!
