I have had panic attacks in the past - no fun for sure.
Coffee Break # 88 Christmas Countdown
Things are better now. I went for a walk this morning.
That's great, Jo...yes, I'm sure meds can cause panic attacks....are you in a ton of pain? If not, stay off the meds if you can....glad you got outside....when I'm not feeling well, it always helps to get out. Louise, sounds like you are doing well, also....the plants will help you to feel better! And the hibiscus can come home with you. Pixie, maybe you can postpone Justin's appt. Not a good idea heading out in freezing rain....
Docs office says its my claustrophobia.
Hahaha!
We went and he is now is an ankle brace that allows him to wear his normal shoe. The walking cast was a pain in the you know where! He has a gait to begin with then jack up one leg 3" higher than the other and you have yourself a tippy-top! Hubby & I are in need of a chiropractor badly!!!
Jo, I am claustrophobic too, and I have panic attacks...had one on the way to the doctors appt. as I hate being on the road in freezing rain.
Glad they changed his brace
Good news for Justin! Can anything help with a panic attack?
No one likes meds but they work the best - both at treating and preventing.
Glad to hear Justin can wear a normal shoe. Woohoo!!
I use " mind over matter" Just do anything to distract myself for a few minutes.
The last one I can remember was 10 years ago.
Meds will help if you can find one that works and no side effects. I haven't yet so I do like Jo, talk myself out of it. Most of the time it works, when my brother was @ the hospital just before he passed...it didn't work. I've had 2 since then that have been bad but I have confidence that i'll get it under control again when things settle down. :)
Lots of choices of meds these days. There are the short-acting ones (benzo class) that will stop the attack, but they are not good long term as they are addictive. This includes valium, xanex, ativan, etc. For prevention, the two major classes are SSRIs and the newer SSNRIs. I have used the older SSRIs and the only side effect was weight gain.
Prayers for your BIL, Jen. That doesn't sound good. What kind of tumor was it, and where? I have a BIL who is going through the same thing. Has had 2 surgeries so far in the last 2 or 3 years for a sarcoma tumor in his abdomen. He is currently going through chemo treatments, which are really making him sick. My sister keeps praying. It's been really hard on her. They have been at their winter place in New Mexico (they're the ones who live in Alaska), and are now on their way to Florida to a cancer place there for surgery. They wanted it done in CA, but they wanted him to finish chemo first, so they're going to FL now. Please pray for them.
Debi, I like that Rosebud spinner and the Illuminarie dual-motion windwheel best of those 4 spinners. Very nice!
Beautiful sunrise, Celeste!
Good luck with your surgery, Jo. Hope you'll be as good as new in no time.
Love the pic of your grands and cousins, Marilyn.
Louise, glad to hear things are getting better for you. Maybe you can tackle that jungle soon. Have fun with planting all your great deals!
Hopefully those radio guys have a conscience and are riddled with guilt over their actions. Glad to hear they lost their jobs.
I agree with Victor, Psy should be uninvited to the show, and the prez has the power to do it. If not, he could boycott in protest. Personally I happen to think Gangnam Style is hilarious, and I've had a lot of fun checking out the many parodies on Youtube, which are quite creative. To each his own. However, I do not think what he did by cursing our soldiers and wishing death to their families is even the tiniest bit cool. I had not heard about that until you mentioned it, Victor. I do not condone that kind of thing AT ALL.
Sorry to hear about your panic attacks, Jo. Not fun, I'm sure. Never had them, though I've suffered from anxiety. I have a close friend who gets them off and on. Tough to deal with. Yes, meds are not good, but they can help. Lots of side effects, but not everyone gets them.

AMAZING Gingerbread Houses!!!!! Debi, check out the train on #12!

PSY will probably not have the concert attendance he is expecting.
I really dont see him having a long career, what we used to call a "flash in the pan"
It was noted on the news coverage of the concert ,that the prez shook his hand but there wasnt much acknowledgement otherwise.PSY was just another hand in the line on that occasion.
Wow, I make a gingerbread train, but nothing like those!
on one of the holiday shows I recorded.. they had the gingerbread house contest.. think it was TLC.. amazing stuff
Made a note to self...never let Grandchildren see those pictures!!
I dont think I would turn any of those houses down.
they spend months on them.. and practice.. but the ones you guys make are even better.. know it was made with love
^_^
I was cleaning out my freezer this summer and found a package of gingerbread house parts that I baked but never got around to putting together.
Wegmans has them pre packaged and have added the candies and frosting in separate bags. What a crook. The fun of making the houses is coming up with my own candy combos.
I tried doing a gingerbread house once with the kids, I have NO patience for that sort of thing, I'd get a wall up and another would fall down, drove me nuts....went right in the trash
Karen, I'm so sorry to hear about your BIL....prayers headed his way...The gingerbread houses are awesome, love the Tudor style one.....I like the idea of a spire on WTC....
Seems to have been a tough health year for so many of our families.
Yes it had Victor, here's to a New Year for all of us♥
Jen I'm with you on the gingerbread house, never mastered it. We do gingerbread men, much more fun!
Prayers for your BIL too, Karen
You must have missed earlier posts I made, it was a tumor on his brain effecting his optic nerve
Marilyn and Jen, thanks for the prayers for my BIL and sister. Tough times for them. On a lighter note, at least they will get to enjoy some time with friends and the warmer weather while they're in FL.
Thanks for updating me, Jen. Yes, I missed earlier posts. Had not been following this thread for awhile, as I was busy with other ones. Hard to keep up, though there are times when not much is happening on any of the threads.
Wow, Celeste, those Gingerbread Houses really are amazing!
Agree with you, Jo. Psy is probably just a passing fad.
That One World Trade Center is going to be gorgeous, Victor.
Karen
