Coffee Break # 88 Christmas Countdown
A combination of "it is", Sherrie!
Love the poinsettias, Celeste, especially the tree of them. Nice! Would love to have a Christmas tree like that, but sure would be expensive to do.
Sure is nice to have my computer back online. Been over a month.

I had a wonderful day with my family. So nice to see my Brother that lives in MD, with his ever growing family they don't get here like they used too. All the great nieces and nephews getting so big. Way to much food and desserts don't think I'll eat for a week. Sad too, we decided to sell our mountain house that we all share...just becoming a burden on us all both physically and monetary. My god-daughter told us they will be getting stationed at Fort Brag and moving in the early spring, Lou is already making golf plans :-) We will actually get to see them more since it will be closer than TN.
I could have done some serious damage at that poinsettia festival
Me too Victor, I'm almost done and never went to a store...gotta love it!!!!!!!!!!
Glad you had such a nice day, Ronnie. Too bad about having to sell the house. Must be a nice place with lots of fond memories.
Karen
so many great colors Celeste!!!
Ruby Frost is the one for me....I doubt I'll find it down here, though....Light Up the Town was crazy....by the time I left church to come home the streets were full of rowdy teens! Here is the town gazebo, the tree will stay lighted for a month or more....all the town buildings are outlined in white lights....you can see part of one of the churches in town....
Nice, Marilyn!

Nice!!
The kids' choir sang this morning. The 6 yr old had a solo in the middle of one song. When it was time for him to step forward to sing his brother the 8yr old with autism also stepped forward and they sang a duet. It was beautiful. I cried then just like I'm doing now. It was a surprise. I help out cuz they practice some at the beginning of Sunday school and he hadn't done that up until then. At first I thought it was a mistake. There were many a wet cheek I must say. God is good!!!
I would have cried too
Every year our town does a winter wonderland village but just read in the paper they can not pull off township workers to work on that while we still have clean up from Sandy going on, so it will be a scaled down version... proud of them for that
I would have cried as well, Jan...we had a different duet....2 girls, around 8, both with strong voices....they were nudging each other away from the mike...too funny...wish I had my camera....
I can picture that. Heehee My grandys each had their own mike. Their mom was balling her eyes out. My son was smiling from ear to ear.
I am shopping online.
Sounds wonderful, Jan.
Victor, that's terrible.
Say what????? (scroll down a little) http://www.globalpost.com/dispatches/globalpost-blogs/bric-yard/brazil-putting-the-penis-passion-fruit

you wouldn't love that poinsettia tree after the first week trying to keep it watered correctly. I have done a couple of those, smaller ones, mind you, on my job. It's hard to get in with your watering can and not break branches off the plants. That one would need a ladder to reach the top tiers. My boss is going to start putting in Poinsettias soon. I fervently hope I don't get a poinsettia tree anywhere! She did white orchids in a number of lobbies last season. Love the phaleonopsis!
Martha
PS. I love a good poinsettia display, especially if I don't have to water it!
Victor: a bit extreme I would say. 150 out of 10,000.?
I ave a feeling they will get shots and be rehired unless their independent attitude isnt what the company is looking for.
So sad that so many managers think they can control everything. I endure this kind of thinking frequently in government, but it's not the judges who do it. Thankfully we get a little protection from our union, and.. to go out on a limb... I would say this is also a reason for civil service protections. Not only has a debacle in the state's probation department shown how hiring can be messed up by abuses in power, but also there needs to be protection for employees to dissent. Public safety is more protected when independent thinking is allowed within one's own prerogatives.
My DD is sick with strep and symptoms like mono, so I'm taking a family sick day to see if I should keep her home or drive her to college. There will be muttering at work when I get back that I extended the holiday.
Disgrace, though I bet many in this country would agree.

Teaching that out of context and with out a proper historical setting ie.We were fighting for independence, is a crime.
They need to look into the rights to assemble.
Oh geez for pete's sake, guess they'd be happier living under another country's rule
Wow! People are crazy. Glad I don't do that Black Friday shopping.
Karen
and the funniest thing was the prices at VS weren't any different then the sales they have year round
I always enjoy their 'Half Off' days. ;)
pffffttttt.
CNN had a spot about how BF prices are sometimes higher on certain items.
Not the bargain day one thinks. Many people go just because they love a mob.
Give me cyber Monday anytime.
Everyday is cyberMonday for me!
Update on my bil please keep up the prayers, he finally goes for a biopsy tomorrow 7:30am it will take any where from 2-7 hours
That Black Friday brawl happened in my neck of the woods (about 15 minutes away from where I live). I saw other footage at a K-Mart on Thanksgiving night where one guy threatened to stab the people in line behind him because they were pushing.
It's enough to make me embarrassed to be human.
Sure will, Jen.
People suck, as I always say.
I held my breath reading that.. my niece works at VS.. thank god it wasn't here!!
yeahhh Victor,I'm with you.
Check out Sierra Trading Post for clothes, footwear, outdoor gear, etc.

Some people suck. I like to try and take a more positive outlook and think that most people out there are good folks. I'm hoping the percentage of people who suck is low, just like the percentage of outlaw bikers is about 1%. I think it would depend on where you are, too. There are more people who suck in certain areas than in others. Just my thoughts.
Karen
Suckville??
That would nice if they all lived in the same town that way we can avoid them
