Thanks Doug. Interesting...

South Hamilton, MA

No problem here with the original link.

Like any culture should all behave the same way--very stupid.

Mr. G Trotts threw the snow. Molly's 1st snow - She Hops like a Kangraoo.

Durhamville, NY(Zone 5b)

Dogs in snow are a riot. Bear had to rub his head along the snowbank and then roll on it. Then we played chase the snow ball. He also had to lay in the driveway and look like he was trying to make a snow angel.

Thanks, guys, for the compliments on my dogs. I think the red outfit on Patches is rather ridiculous, but my sister got it for her. Oh, well. I got Jerry his jacket. I have a jacket for Patches that looks nice on her. I guess I'm awfully "white".

That Jacob Zuma is ridiculous!

Cute Karen!
I love watching dogs in their first snow of the year. Cyrus pushes his nose through it like a plow, then takes a big lick. When it snows fresh snow on the deck you can see lick marks all over the deck! LOL

Durhamville, NY(Zone 5b)

Karen I'm sure the dogs don't care as long as then are getting attention they don't have a concept of "looking foolish".

If you want to hear someone like Jacob Zuma howl turn the argument around. Dogs are allowed for whites only. Same thing just stated with different words.

I read the article and what I took away was that it is more important to vaccinate children than dogs when you don't have money for both.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

one of my dad's dogs did that Celeste.. cracked me up

Thomaston, CT

Suey hates the snow.....she'll take one look & run back inside....Robs, like all my airedales, loved the snow, but the snow would stick to their kinky fur, & I would have ice balls all over the house!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

That's not exactly what I got from it, Memory, but if that's what he meant, then he has a good point. It is more important to vaccinate your own children than your dogs. Children DDR first, and I feel it's irresponsible to have dogs if you can't afford to take care of them. A dog is a responsibility, not a possession. Did you happen to read both articles? The first one had a lot more in it.

I took Jerry and Patches walking at the Plymouth waterfront today with Ryan and Gretchen. Had a really good time.

Nice to get out before the storm...I need to live some place where the snow doesn't make walking an adventure all winter!

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Love watching dogs navigate the snow, same as Bear and Cyrus here. Cliffie's first step is to dunk his head in, then to roll around until he's covered, then snowplow with his nose. Then if there's not enough reason to bark at snowflakes or take a nap in the snow, he expects to be allowed right back inside, which he is, after a towel drying. If we have a fire in the fireplace, he acts very "Finnish" and alternates between hot sauna atmosphere and cold snow.

Thomaston, CT

My Norwegian elkhound loved the cold & snow....she would find the last pile in spring & lie in it.....

One of the two cats who is always around my house. We have named him/her Creamsicle.

I can see why you call him Creamsicle. Is he a stray or just someones cat that likes to hang out at your house. He looks to be in pretty good shape for a stray.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

We don't know. Obviously well-fed, but no collar.

Thomaston, CT

He may be looking for your kitties, Victor....probably a male since he's orange....

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

A creamsicle cat just showed up on my front porch! I hope he is just passing through.

Durhamville, NY(Zone 5b)

We've gone to here.
