Since the storm has reached out and touched so many of us here on DG I thought a check-in thread was in order.
PLEASE if you made it out of the storm, let us know. Everyone here is like one big virtual family and you ALL hold a place in my heart and prayers. If there is anything you need, seeds, plants, a helping hand cleaning up, post it here....that's what FAMILY IS FOR!

FRANKENSTORM CHECK-IN THREAD
In the dark but ok
Yay!! & Phew!! Glad your alright.
Good to see you 2 are ok.
Warming my coffee over the sterno burners
Hi Deb! Glad your OK too. :) We had winds and rain, lost power for a few minutes that it so far.
Once the sun peaks out randy will start the generator.. The fridge is full of frozen water bottles
Hopefully you got some sleep last nite. Bad when a storm hits after dark.
Thanks for the check in thread. Everyone of us is worried.
That area with the levee floods bad to begin with.. Can't be good
It calmed down by bed time .. Slept soundly.. Going to be playing Sherri's pick em up sticks for a while
Just started pouring
We saw the New York and NJ flooding. Astonishing! I'll be looking again for folks to be alright.
Other than some brief power outages, we managed very well. Wind was from the living room, not the bedroom side for a change so it was easy to sleep. Work starts at noon, but that looks unnecessary.
Amazingly, I never lost power...no branches down, only my Welcome sign blown down, & some of my neighbor's construction debris in my yard....still have my Mom, Brother, & sil with me....my nephew in the Bronx had a large tree limb crash through a window close to where his little girls were sitting....again, thank God, no one was injured..his wife, who is DOT commish of Manhattan, has her hands full.......
Jan just checked in on another thread, she's OK!
WOW! We also never lost power. Hard to believe, but very, very thankful. The top of a large maple came down once the eye passed and the winds shifted around to the south. Watching TV I am astonished at the scope of this storm. Praying for you all.
Added to say thank you, dear, for keeping track. You posted as I was typing my reply here. I was sidetracked a bit before I finished it. (((HUGS)))

as of last night irisMA had lost power but they were ok. I haven't heard from her yet today.
a ok here - wonder how patti is out on nantucket?
Texted Jen .. She is ok
Good morning everyone. I have power, in upper Manhattan, but the area where I work downtown had heavy flooding and have no power. Sister in NJ is in the dark. Ivy
Glad to see this! Hope everyone on the NE made it safely thru. We have a check in on the MAG forum too.
Guess I better call my navy boy bro in CT & check on him. He's on base tho so I'm sure he's fine.
thanks Celeste for the thread. We are without power and from what I am hearing it` going to be a while. Lotsdamage huge trees down in the middle of our streets. Most of my BF bushes are uprooted. We are trying to get some dry ice for the fridge. Luckily my kids have.power so grandies will be okay. Still lots of gusts and a few showers. Overall counting my blessings.
Power went our at 6:40 pm last night. On by 3 am as DH woke up & went downstairs to turn off lights. Power still gone some places in MA. Could hear high winds & neighbor's generator after I
went to bed.
Beech tree leaves must hang on tight as the tree is full. Most of the tulip tree leaves are on the ground along with the leave from the oak. Left the tube bird feeder up yesterday, for years we have had a weight on the bottom which cuts down on the swing.
Weeze texted .. No power but ok
Great to hear! My stepson, Mike, In Kport Maine, got power back today....my stepdaughter in Commack, LI has no power, cannot get off her road because of downed trees & has no idea when she'll be able to get to work in NYC.....
Midtown east NYC all is ok, haven't looked outside yet. TV shows scary things! Mayor says don't go out. OK with me for now, no cabin fever here! Downtown is a mess of course... Many friends lost power. Mayor says best guess for subways and power is 3-5 days, he hopes not longer, but could be.
In CT, the answering machine doesn't pick up. ConnEd says 87% of its customers are without power. I'm so glad we left before it hit!
I feel very lucky, hope everyone else is ok.
Victor texted ok but no power
DD and her DH went to Florida for the weekend. The storm was nothing there, but now they can't get back. They live in NJ, no power there. Poor things, stuck in the sunshine by the pool, lol!
Me too! Just heard our power is back on, but a tree damaged the barn :(
Glad to see these post, so far so good. Anyone hear from Pirl???

Also, Weeze...is she OK??? Missing her, Louise & Hank, Memory, Patti, Meredith, DonShirer, ROSES_R_RED, Sofonisba, SongsofJoy, geez...still alot not accounted for.
Pixie that pic you posted is super! glad to see everyone posting my familys in Ct. one has power the rest don't. Terrible storm would not wish this on my worst enemy. The ones not posting proably have no power.
Yank is Memory, Venue is Weeze/Louise
Ahh! Thank you!! Just saw Harper is Ok too!!! :)
I tried to call Pirl(Arlene) but I'm guessing her phone service is out. I'm praying for you folks up there in the NE.
I've been through more than my share of hurricanes here in FL and I know how devastating they can be!!!
God Bless you guys!! Be Safe!!!
Bill
Here's a picture just to let you know that things WILL get better!!!!!
20 hours w/o power, but it came back on in time to save most of the stuff in the freezer. People along NY and NJ shore had it much rougher than CT. One good result, 95% of trees lost their leaves so I won't have to worry about raking the lawn twice or thrice!
Thanks Bill!
Glad to see you post Don! :)
Glad everything every one is checking in. Just heard it could be a week before we have power. Not a genetator to be found in any of the stores.
Thank you to all checking in. It helps relieve the wondering. Thanks especially all not in the area with their good wishes. Definitely much appreciated.
Ronnie, praying you get power sooner than expected.
