Weather In Your Garden # 123 Crossing another bridge.
Dark but ok .. Going to sleep.. Or at least try to.. Be safe all
have had some heavy downpours
No power here either.
Still awake but sounds like its calming down out there
Still bad here with the wind but not much rain. Wish I was tired.
In the eye I think
We lost power here in Saugus, MA around 4:30 pm and it just came back on. All of Saugus was not out however. The parts along Route 1 seemed to be unaffected throughout. We can see the lights along Route 1 from my hilltop. No TV for 6 hours! Horrors!
Back now. HOpe the rest of you are OK.

10" of snow in TN!!!!
I cannot believe the devastation this storm had caused.......the Eastern Seaboard will never look the same. :(
I'm not saying this to be depressing, it's just a fact. Our coastline took a massive hit a few years and my favorite beach was totally wrecked and forever changed. We just need to be thankful for our blessings.....and that would be that no one from DG or their families is hurt or missing.
Sleep has not come for me again, i'm waiting for you all to check in.
Check-in thread, please check in if you are OK

Waiting for the sun
A half million without power in CT, but I never lost it.......see some patches of blue sky, but also some very dark clouds.......no wind.....very calm.....major roads still shut down in entire state.....
Good morning! Whew! 52 today. Still raining a little.
Yay! Glad your safe!
Heehee. Thank you
I'm glad to hear you made it through, Marilyn.
Where we are in midtown NYC nothing happened, but other parts of the city were flooded and/or lost power, or worse. We called the house around midnight and the machine didn't pick up, so power is out there. Later on we'll call friends to see how they made out and what the conditions are in the area.
It looks like eastern LI was hit as well. A lot lost power at least, and there was coastal flooding. I hope Pirl is OK. Good luck to everyone else in the reach of this enormous storm. I hope you all are safe, and able to check in soon!
Pam
currently 45 and very windy. wind advisories out- sustained 30-40 mph, gusts 45-55 mph. lots of schools closed in the area. we lost one part of our backyard fence due to a tree limb.
Never lost power here - although did lose cable at around 10PM. Had a passing shower earlier and there are lots of small branches down.
thx Sherrie
power out from 6:40 pm until early morning hours. On by 3 am.
Good to know you are fine, Pam....NYC was hit very hard! My son, Mom, brother are all without power here in western CT, so I'm not surprised to hear yours is out also.....
Good evening all. I live in Washington Hgts, facing the Henry Hudson Pkwy and the River, there was some damage with trees and water but nothing like the flooding in lower Manhattan where I work. I am unable to get to my job downtown because it was in the heavy flooded area that lost all of its power. So, everything has to be dried, cleaned and repaired. Saw one of the lower subway tunnels that had water up to the ceiling. Imagine that. No subways until they pump out all of the water for awhile but buses will be working. Have not heard from my sister after her power went out in N.J. last night. Her area was hit very hard. Ivy
My great uncle had a beach house down at the Jersey seashore in Harvey Cedars that was 3 houses from the beach the day before the hurricane back in the 50's and ended up in the ocean the day after. If you live along the water anywhere, the chance that you could lose your home to the sea is always there. I hope everyone has heard from their friends and relatives by now.
Martha
Can you use the tree branch for firewood jumper?
I'm glad to hear everyone is ok. A came out fine. All safe, and no damage. The yard is a mess though. Lots of leaves and branches to clean up. All the beds I recently cleaned up look bad, too.
We got rain off and on today. Got a couple of good thunderstorms, too.
Karen
