Roast chicken and mashed taters and broccoli and apple salad for dinner tonight. Having two widowers over. For one it has only been a few months and he is really struggling. His emotions are very raw. My heart just goes out to him.

Thomaston, CT

Jan, that's a really nice thing to do.....I think it's harder for men to cope, especially where dinner is concerned....love cream of mushroom...my favorite soup.....I had pasta, salad, & apple stir at my friend's house.....soup for supper....

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Hope you have a nice dinner Jan

My college age niece didn't like a lot of things until I made them for our weekly dinners. Made my sister crazy because " Aunt Debi made it and I liked it"
I miss those days when Jackie was here at school.

Your meatloaf inspired us to do the same, accompanied by DW's potato salad & misc. sides. What wine do you have with meatloaf? Sorelli Scuola Roscana (Red) 2004 was both drinkable and inexpensive.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

It was very nice. They chatted a bit before dinner cuz I forgot to carve the bird. They talked about their wives and how they now had nothing to do. I think I could come up with some ideas for them. Heehee. The younger one, our neighbor, at 85 was helping Jeff put on the metal garage roof this summer. I think he really enjoyed it, cuz it kept him busy. He also is the janitor at the firehouse.

Tomorrow will be leftovers. Yum!
