Whatcha Cooking?

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Last one was long.
I've been baking up a storm and will continue to as it gets colder. Tonight we are having a nice big pot of chilli and a pan of corn bread. For dessert we have white chocolate/macadamia nut cookies. :)

These are cinnabon muffins.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Turkey sounds good, I smelled stuffing at work today even though no one had it.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Just saw a product - a nice-looking leather 'holster' for drinking out of standard mason jars. Looks great, but when did people start drinking out of mason jars???

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Used to be a bar here called the mason jar and that's how they served drinks.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

the guy at work always always drank his coffee from a goober jar.. and that jar never saw soap

goober jar sounds tasty uh uh no no.....

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

it was stained and nasty... one of the guys took it off the top of the fridge and washed it... you had to hear him flip out that he wrecked his years of seasoning on it.. ICK

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

LOL

redneck wine glass

Well I'll stick to buying Chinese food from now on, too much work, too messy and just doesn't taste the same

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

yeah no msg.. LOL

I think I have a Mason Jar with a handle

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I just never realized they were routinely used for drinking coffee, etc.

Thomaston, CT

The restaurant where I had lunch yesterday served iced tea in Mason jars.....yes, Victor, fresh apples are so great this time of year.....I went to the orchard last week & chose about 9 different varieties, from Gravensteins to Macouns! Jen, good Chinese recipe that tastes very authentic is Eating Well's Magazine, Green beans & Tofu

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

ick tofu

I don't think I've ever had a Macoun, my fav is Cameo

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

the thing with tofu is the texture, if you can get past it then it shouldn't be a problem. Tofu will take on the flavor of what it's cooked in. If you cook it in a brown meat sauce it should take on that flavor. I worked with the Chinese for 6 years and thats what I was told.

I don't eat soy of any kind

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

or should I say try not to eat soy, they put it in everything!
it's so bad for you

Thomaston, CT

The soy is cut into cubes, floured, & sauteed....you put in Thai chili sauce....delish!

Thomaston, CT

Wow...scary stuff! Just heard on the news about arsenic in rice.....more in brown than white.....pediatrician said not to give to young kids.....
