Well, I am worming 4 cats because someone licked a puddle! Wallingford tested positive for Giardia and everyone has to take meds for 3 days. The funny part is that our Vet works at a cats only Animal Hospital and she had to send a Rx to another Animal Hospital to get the wormer because it is only made for dogs!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Keep them indoors! A lot cheaper.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

so sorry to hear that Memory.. poor kids!!

Thomaston, CT

Well, it's curable which is good news! Saw some parti-colored standard poodle puppies for sale in the paper......so tempting! However, I need a new car & 9 new windows in the house, so ...no poodle. :>(

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Victor - one is a stray that I have been feeding for at least 5 years and Wallingford goes out on a leash. Holly sometimes goes out to hunt vols in the garden. But you are right, and I know that the don't really NEED to go outside - well except for Meeyow, the stray.

I need to turn my 8' x 16' deck into a giant catio instead of the little one the boys have now. In my mind, I am working on plans for the catio - it is just the $$ and logistics of covering the entire deck without putting holes into it. If I sold, I doubt that a huge catio would be a much sought after feature. LOL

lol catio lol!!!!

Thomaston, CT

The kitties would love that......take your plan to the local lumberyard....they may have suggestions...Suey's going for her flu shot in a little while....that should be fun......

flu shot?

Thomaston, CT

Yes, the kennel said I would have to sign a waiver if she didn't have the shot....which needs a booster in 4 weeks!

crazy

anyone hear this weird urban legend? If a mouse eats poison and then eats dog food immediately after the dog food will counteract the poison and it won't die

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Sounds like an urban legand to me!

Thomaston, CT

I don't think dog food is an antidote, but it may slow absorption a bit.....

Crate is now blocking the bedroom door.

2 - 70 lbs dogs are no longer in the bed.

South Hamilton, MA

That's handy

Thomaston, CT

None of our large dogs slept on the bed, but Suey wormed her way in!

Hope has been cracking me up lately.. for some reason she is begging for Lily's attention.. either to clean her face or play.. as Hope bounds around smacking Lily in the butt or flopping in front of her and scratching her face.. all I see is a child saying Mom Mom Mom Ma Ma Ma Momma Momma Mom Mother... Lily will cave in and clean her.. even if she doesn't want to

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Aww Lily is a good momma!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

she does put up with a lot of crud

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

LOL!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

She such a good girl!

Thomaston, CT

Lily is good to her! Some Mommas bite.....

Funny

Spoke with our bug guy about the urban legend mouse and dog food thing and he said it's true
there is K1 in the dog food that is the antidote for the poison

SHeesh

Thomaston, CT

What's K1? Suey calmed her self down when we arrived home yesterday....she sobbed, cried, & barked all the way from Goshen....that's 30 min.! Her hysterics were over as soon as she walked into the house.....

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

a vitamin

Thomaston, CT

Oh, I know...stops blood from clotting...my husband couldn't have many leafy greens because he was on a blood thinner.....

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Actually it works the other way - it helps clotting.

Thomaston, CT

Yes, of course....that's what the blood thinner was trying to prevent....duh!

Thomaston, CT

The shelter that I rescued Suey from had their first annual fun dog show today.....about 100 dogs showed up! Suey's class....dogs adopted from Little Guild, was second to last, so I had to keep her occupied for a long time in less than ideal weather conditions.....very damp & muddy on the fairgrounds......Barbara Curtiss, the head of the New England Airedale Rescue was in charge & she brought in a real dog show judge from NY...this woman had adopted an airedale from Barbara......there were many breeds, from poodles to an enormous Great Pyrenees...no fights, but an airedale threatened a German shepherd....those bad dales! Anyway, a fun time for the 2 of us.......

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Sounds like it was fun Robin, was this in ME or CONN?

Here's a few pictures of the Brat, I mean Cyrus. :) Oh, and of course Patches who's not a brat, she's a DIVA!

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Looking good, Cyrus and Cliffie! Patches is sweet♥

I've inhereted a rabbit names Garcia, she's living with my chickens and in her glory, she belongs to my GDs and needed a new hutch I thought she would do well with the company so she came to live here.

Sounds like a great time, Marilyn.

Cliffie loves and thrives on admiration. I've love to visit his former home, a shelter for runaway teens that is also a rescue place for dogs, located along on the lake in Georgia.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Garcia will appreciate the good home, Ronnie, and he looks very cuddly.

Thomaston, CT

Oh, my, Garcia is too cute! That's quite a combination, Rosemary.....troubled teens & abandoned dogs!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

look at all the cute babies!!!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Looking good Cliffie!

They will help heal each other.

I hope "The Universe" blesses them all...and all of us, as well !!!

Missed a lot on this thread. My doggies are doing well. Looks like everyone's here are doing great as well.

Jumper, sorry to hear about the loss of your Arab mare. I've had a few horses in days gone by. I miss having them.

Going to the Barktoberfest next Saturday. Will take a lot of pics. I have not been able to upload any pics to my computer for awhile, as my card reader is broken. Will have to break down and get a new one.
