best wishes Jan
Coffee Break # 83
Glad it was nothing serious Jan, yes he is good. :)
Good news Jan!!
Didn't know he was ill! Glad the news was good, Jan!
Driving fatigue!
I've been the one doing the driving, especially yesterday. He insisted on doing about an hour. Maybe it was a bug. Our son and DIL were sick right after we left and I was loose for a couple of days. Maybe they are related.
According to my doctor, there's a lot of 'bad' stuff out there right now...he didn't elaborate....
Hey, thanks for the new scrabble words, Victor. If only I can find a worthy opponent...
Hee hee!
Be the first on your street to own one:

I'll take 2. ^_^
wow that is great!!!
looks like they had fun
Good for them! Nice bonding experience....
Great!
Thinking about joining them next year. :)
I recently heard the color run happens in lots of cities. Looks like fun.
Your right Rosemary, pick your city and go!!

I wonder how people get home without messing up their autos though. Clearly that's not the right spirit. Still looks like fun.
For that person who is just so hard to buy gifts for.

If only it wasn't in Montana!
Gorgeous out there!
I've missed a lot. Been too busy in my gardens and posting pics of my daylilies.
Louise, your daylilies are looking great. I wish I could be there to see them. My gardens looked stunning this year, also. If you'd like to see some pics of my daylilies and such, I have a bunch on this thread, and the ones previous: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1271719/
Celeste, I've always wanted to got to Acadia National Park. One of these days..... Looks like you had fun.
All that pj talk was funny. I take the dogs out every morning in my pj's.
Great news about your Mom, Marilyn. I'm glad everything will be alright.
Oh, man Allison, talk about muscle cramps. Last week I had 2 charlie horses, one in my right thigh in back, just above the knee, the other in my left calf. The one in the thigh was the worst. will have to try the pickle juice, though it doesn't sound appetizing. I do like pickles, but drinking the juice sounds yucky. I'll let you know if it works next time I get one and try it.
Terrible about that Colorado movie massacre. I have a friend over there who goes to that theater all the time. In fact he had bought an advanced ticket that same day it happened to see that movie on the weekend with some friends. He has been really upset over all this. The theater will be closed for awhile now. His friends are scared to go back there, but he is not. He says he won't allow that incident to keep him from from there, as they shouldn't give in to terror. Besides, it's not like that will happen there again. It was a freak occurrence. It's not like there are insane people like that all over the city out to target that theater, or any other, for that matter. Scary thing is, that could happen anywhere. Thank God it doesn't happen on a regular basis. As far as the baby and kid/kids being at the theater, I wouldn't take kids that age to a movie like that, but the parents couldn't get a babysitter, and they figured the kids would sleep through the movie. There was no way they could have known something like that would happen.
Yes, that would be cool if we were all neighbors. It would be cool if we could all live in neighborhoods where everyone was a gardener and loved sharing their gardens with their neighbors.
So sorry to hear about you MIL, Victor. Yes, tough times ahead, indeed. Will keep her in thoughts and prayers. I have an acquaintance here, another daylily/plant nut like me, who recently lost a foot after a fall off her roof, where she was trimming a tree that was growing over the house. She's a real trooper, though, and is not letting it get her down. Saw here a few weeks ago, and she said she was soon getting a prosthetic foot and would be good to go. She was on crutches, working at a local nursery, where she's worked for years. Still going strong, God bless her.
Well, I didn't get to catch up on everything. Got as far as the Andrew Wyeth picture. I love his work. My mother was also a big fan of his. Will catch up again soon.
Karen
Bill, sounds like you had a fun trip to Maine. Love the rock cairns. Leave it to you.
let me know Karen.. I always used the cold tile floor to make it stop.. takes a few seconds but that always worked for me
Thanks, Karen. Saw her yesterday. In good spirits. Should be coming to the rehab hospital near us either tomorrow or Tuesday. Wife noticed she her stump leg is already a bit contracted and told her to keep stretching it straight.
Terrible operation.....have a friend that lost both of his feet due to circulation problems....he gets around pretty well, but his wife does all the heavy work with the horses.....
Yes it is. They changed the dressing for the first time yesterday so it was the first time she saw it. Obviously, upset her. Her uncle lost his leg years ago from smoking.
Smoking is bad in so many ways.....after his heart attack, the doc told my father no more cigars.....he didn't light it, just chewed on it....still bad! Dad only lasted a year after the 1st attack......
Never seems to get easy. MIL was supposed to transfer to the rehab Hosp today but it was canceled as her blood cultures came back positive. Have to resolve that first now.
oh man, keeping her in my prayers
That stinks Victor, praying for the best for all of you. Hang in there.
I wish my husband would give up cigars...he thinks because he doesn't inhale it's not bad...excuses excuses excuses. His only vice next to golf but a bad one.
Thanks, ladies. Yes, cigars no good either. Like chewing tobacco - can lead to mouth and throat cancers.
best wishes to her Victor.. in my prayers too
Thank you, Allison.
Victor, I'm glad to hear your MIL is in good spirits.
Now to catch up on the rest of this thread.
Wow, Celeste, those photos trees buried in the snow at the arctic circle were fantastic! Thanks for sharing that link. Looks like something from Dr. Seuss.
Great pics of your nephew and the baby, Jen.
Congrats on your new niece, Allison! Welcome baby Sophia!
Victor, that was interesting on what causes the smell of rain. When I lived in northern Nevada it smelled like sagebrush there when it rained, as there was a lot of it around. Then in other areas there was a lot of creosote bush, and it smelled like creosote when it rained.
Jan, I didn't know Jeff was sick. Must have missed that. Good to know he's feeling better and that it was nothing serious.
Can't believe that zombie preparedness kit. What kind of people pay money for stuff like that? Obviously those people have money to burn.
Celeste, that color run sounds like fun. This sounds like fun, too: http://runforyourlives.com/ . I couldn't do it, what with my bad ankle and all, can't run, but if I could, I certainly would. Would love to watch sometime. They had one in Boston in May, but I missed it.
Karen
When my wife was an intern, she was close to zombie material. She could literally sleep standing up.
Victor, we cross-posted, so didn't read the latest before I posted my comments. Your MIL is in my thoughts and prayers.
Karen
Oh, man, Victor, that must have been scary.
