Praying for the surgeon's hands and a great recovery and rehab.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Starting to get organized for our trip back home. Will leave tomorrow and hopefully find a camp site in NE Washington or into the panhandle of Idaho. On Wed we will stay overnight with a former DG member. Some of you may remember soferdg. He is a vet and lives in Kallispell, MT. He does most of his vet practice in Alaska traveling back and forth. Looking forward to meeting hima nd his wife and enjoying his amazing view. Then we'll take Rt 2 heading toward Michigan to visit our dear friend for a few days. Hoping the weather cooperates so we can camp. Looking to be home sometime late next week.

Sorry Victor, not sypathetic here but loosing a foot would throw me off a cliff.

Stay strong for MIL and your Wife.

so no one wanted to venture a guess about this light house. i guess no one saw one of the greatest movies of all time, Forest Gump. This is the light house in Port Clyde that was used - my wife was very excited, she loves that movie.

we went there twice - the area had some great brown mica schist stone that i needed to take some pictures of and maybe try to find a nice sample :)

He lives in the area. This is a pix of him at the general store dock in Port Clyde
I was at the next table over.Helga showed up afterawhile, she is the subject of many of his paintings and the principal player in the scandal years ago.
Maine vacations are always great.I'm glad you had such a good time and didnt loose a step in your "Kairnes Over the World" project.

I've been to the Farnsworth several times....have never been to Port Clyde, however, & would love to go.....Pixie, those photos are so weird!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I believe the Wyeth collection is in its own Gallery in town,Rockland that is. Port Clyde can be sen in 20 mins. The General Store has a nice deli and a back deck where you can picnic in the docks.
When Andrew was caught in a affair with Helga ,his wife divorced him and he had to buy her -her own island. She is happy there. I went on a boat ride to see some Puffins and they pointed out her island. Only friends and her children are welcome. Sounds ideal to me.

LOL...yeah, there are days! If only I could get over being seasick.....

Mariyn. There are tons of artists along the coast of Maine and many open home galleries in the PortClyde area.
