Oh yeah I wanted to say, thanks for reminding me Betty I would have been sitting here rubbing my head thinking, "What was I going to say????" Janice that's horrible about the fire, but YAY to the Presidential Lunch!!

LOL nope Betty, I'll probably be alone for this one and no fireworks because it's been so dry here there are burn bans everywhere.

Never thought of that Crissy, bet there are a lot of areas that won't be having them then.
We got just a sprinkle of rain today, not enough to even wet the ground so guess it's watering for me tonight.

You read that right LK. In fact, that is how I first got started on DG...say Betty's thread and was reading....lots of mention of London, Ontario and I posted I had spent a year there living with my brother and SIL. Some asked if I had seen the stuffed alligator in the greenhouse...well, so happened I knew how that came to be! LOL

What's so poignant about this picture?
Well, it shows a line of little girls holding hands facing the immensity of ocean waves.
Alone they might be washed away, but together they stand strong.
Thank you each for holding my hand somewhere along the way when I was facing a wave of my own.
I hope you will reach for my hand when your own wave threatens.

LK... when I looked down I saw the dark blue square against a dark gray background. At first glance, I thought maybe the two squares might be the gray part, and the background was blue... wasn't real clear to me at the time.

Like I said... was one of those blonde moments.

Here's a challenge for all the sistahs that went to Betty's (that includes you Betty)
After getting a glimpse of Joanna's work on her website... what do you think she'll paint from all the pics she took everywhere we went? I don't have a clue, she never tells me what she's working on.

My vote is Henry (the water taxi driver). I bet she does a portrait of him... she did ask him to take his sunglasses off for a picture.

Brenda, I love that picture....made me choke up a bit. I haven't seen your sisters website, but sure would love too.

I vote for Henry also....he was just wonderful!

I have to agree with you Brenda, I think the character lines deeply ingrained in Henry's face would be her choice. Other than that I'd pick the silhouettes of friends gathered near the prayer fire, but again, seeing her website it's got to be Henry!

Betty - also knew you didn't need to worry as much as you did, but also know that I would be worrying too if it were me.

1st day at new job was good - Boss asked me if I were coming back tomorrow! then she winked. I said "well, I don't know, you were so mean to me" I grinned, she did too lol
There's a lot to learn about the company & the things done in this job, but I'm up to it. Poking through files and things at the desk &have already found 2 different ways previous person was not organized and duplicated things unnecessarily - way behind on the filing of things. Plus, never kept written of computer documents of a meeting held June 14th - Agenda, but no Minutes...siiiiiigh. My poor boss - she didn't get the notes from my predecessor, & has little memory of what happened. No one should Ever rely on their memory for meeting minutes.

I'm here! I've been doing damage control in the garden. Bill said he watered???? Well, will probably only lose a couple things. Two new ferns being part of that. :o(

I haven't even looked at my pictures yet. Hope to do that later.

I gave Bertie one of the maple leaf necklaces, (don't know how I ended up with 2) and told her that now she was an honorary Canadian, just like the rest of us! Gave her one of my precious rocks, too......

Well, off to make a dessert for a picnic tonight at Bertie and Herb's. If I don't do it now, it won't be ready by tonight!

Joyce, I was wondering....and Paul asked also...if you made it across the border with your rock collections! lol Glad you are home safe.

Oh by the way....Betty found a camera that didn't belong to her after all had left. She sent it with me, so if it's yours, let me know and I'll send it to you. Has a picture of Harley Davidson lettering as the picture that I saw. It's a Canon, little one in a case.

That boat ride was so much fun, didn't want it to end. After realizing I wasn't going to get sick....I just had a great time.

Didn't know Debbie that you get sick on a boat, yikes, glad you were ok..

Betty, only did once on Lake Ontario and hadn't been since. I used to boat all the time and loved it. Took a dramamine just in case....so was fine.

That camera is probably Judy's since it has Harley writing on it, she is our little Chippewa Biker Chick LOL

Glad you were ok Deb, I get sick on any boat I go on unless I take Dramamine, so far it hasn't let me down!
