Yup..."virtually" no calories....grin

Tallulah, there is a very large cycling forum with a Classified section that may help you sell the bike. Take a look ~ http://www.roadbikereview.com/ click Classifieds, top center.
Good Luck

Hi Everybody, I'm safe in Chula Vista. Kept my agreement with Diane, took my time and lots of breaks. Lots of stops for checks looking for guns/drugs in Mexico and minor delay in Ca. at the border. The van is quite easy to drive.
I will rest today and tomorrow then head to LA to See Amma on Firday.
So glad Streak is home.
Now I'm off to Goodwill.
hugs katie
Hi Andy - I gather this is for US posting only, and I live in Canada
Susan
Katie !! So glad to hear you're taking it easy. I'll bet Amma can hardly wait to see you again :-)
So glad you arrived safe and sound Katie, now you can enjoy the rest of your trip? Any news on the surgery?
Andy, great suggestion that she research these sites, would be nice for Susan to sell it seeing it's practically new!
I imagine you plan weekend treks Andy, do you ever ride all day, spend the night and back the next day?? Didn't you go look at a car?
Went shopping, few things on my list I needed, back to the office with zilch..big area for shopping is up the road at Molson's park but traffic is horendous so no can do on a lunch hour and I'm not so sure I want to go up after work, guess I will try Midland this weekend.
Katie so glad to read you arrived safely and kept your promise to me. I laughed at myself last night when I was outside hanging off the side of the house trying to clean out a jam in the eavestrough - lots of T and L going on around me. I was going to try and shimmy up a post and I thought oooops I promised Katie LOL Think that's maybe a great deal we made Katie.
OMG Dianne, not going to say 'don't do' because being where you are there are many things around the house that need doing and someone has to right? But I will say, take every precaution and yes think of the pack you and Katie have.
It's 60 here with a breeze, storm didn't hit us thankfully, Sailor absolutely goes crazy..in the 80's on the weekend. edited to read: just went on another weather channel for Victoria harbour and it says it's 69F with 78% humidity and the other channel said 56% humidity..guess you pick the best one..lol
Are the loons still in your bay?

Susan, I looked around on that site & found no USA only statement. Post your location within the ad. It's perfect product placement on a busy cycling site for only $2. You can also put an ad in the local paper, ask where you purchased it if they take 'used' bikes or know someone looking. Post fliers at the super market bulletin board. Donate it to charity for a big income tax break.
Betty, I'm still new at cycling. An hour and a half in the saddle is about all I can do so far even with the padded riding shorts. I hope to do 15 miles soon & 20 or more by summers end. Repairs worry me. What do i do with a flat 10 miles from home? Call a cab? I'm retired, don't need weekends. Sleepovers will have to wait until my dog Sarah is gone, she's 12 yo.
Andy P
Hmmm Andy, food for though for sure..what would one do??? do you have a trail system where you are? ours has spotters should someone be in trouble and local bike shop attendant comes to the rescue. Sure wish I could say 'don't need weekends'
know what you mean about dogs, Sailor is about 13, has me thinking some days as to what I should be doing with her but then her breathing becomes easier and I'm gong ho to let her be but it sure does tie you down..going away beginning of August and have someone coming in for the week.
Andy - it only shows to put in a zip code for my address, no postal codes.
I don't have a PayPal account, and don't have a credit card.
I'm unemployed, so could use the $$ rather than donating, although I realize that would be a worthy thing to do.
I called the company I bought it at, and they don't take used bikes, although they say the type/model I have is very popular and I should be able to sell it for $500.
I registered with Bike Calgary's site, and posted an ad on it - hopefully I will find someone who can appreciate a good bike.
You're still new at cycling and you're retired? You're braver than I, obviously...... Good for you!!
Drats, burnt supper!
Betty, you must be thinking of organized events. I'm on the street going any which way.
Sarah is slowing down. She hates the bike & knows when I'm about to leave. Dogs are so intuitive, part of their charm.
Susan, I had a medical issue in the late 70s with a long recuperation. My sister suggested a 10 speed, I rode it to recovery. A bike is doing it again after bypass surgery which along with the economy is why I'm retired.
Andy P
Andy - I see why you say bike riding is a "new" thing.......... it's been many years since you rode, right? I never learned as a child, and rode about 1/2 hr when I was in my late 20's........ hurt myself badly falling off, and it was strongly suggested I never ride again (by my ex) and I didn't..........
Betty - if you've burned dinner, what are you having instead?
I'll have to sit and post how my evening is going, let's say I should call it a day!! Comedy of errors!
Thanks for the Birthdaynwishes and cake! Yum! Day on the beach was great! Getting ready for dinner somewhere. We are going to try and find some good seafood somewhere, should not be too hard!
Are you getting tanned, LK?
Hello To All !
LK - Happy Birthday ! Have some seafood for me.. .YUM !
Dianne (Hands on hips as Betty says) YOU GET DOWN OFF THAT POLE YOUNG LADY ! (fuss fuss) Glad you and Katie made your 'deal'
Katie - I think I lived in Chula Vista age 5-12... in Sacramento?or near ? Near the old Mather AFB?
Betty - From the French Quarter to Audubon Zoo is 20 minutes, and 6 miles. Where in NOLA are you staying? Andy reminds me... some of the best times DH and I had were to bring our bikes and ride around the French Quarter.... if you want I'll bring ya'll mine..... :o)
Hope you can get the most for that bike Susan !
I'll check back... (HUGS)
Mary
PS: Did I show ya'll our Epcot Segway Tour? Now those would be the way to travel around the French Quarter !
Was just on the telephone with Judy..we are both soooo excited!!
Watered the plants, yikes, noticed that the plants I thought were weeds are starting to bloom, drats and more drats..guess who when weeding thought these weeds which resembled Victorian Lace/wild carrot was taking hold of my garden...
shedding a tear..they were flowers!!!
Mary, this is the hotel we've booked
http://www.placedarmes.com/
no need of bikes, love walking!
Maybe the day we are leaving we can drive that way and go to the Audubon..
Love the photo, bet your trip was all you had hoped for. We almost rented one when we were at the Magnificent Mile with Judy and Steve in Chicago..would have but didn't have time to do the learning..are they tippy? Bet you want one now to run around town.
How is your MIL, you didn't mention how the operation went..did say a prayer. Are you visiting in the evenings after work?
Andy, Sarah will start to dislike the bike seeing as it takes you away from her..yes, they are so highly intelligent..
My driftwood
Hey Betty - I have not seen that particular spot but the location seems fabulous !
Yes - the segways do need a bit of instruction.... they 'taught' us for an hour before heading out to Epcot...
I thought I did post but everything going very well with MIL's surgery... I have sat with her and I do check in with her every day.... she seems to be recovering well and in good spirits. I had also brought her some fruit and items from Whole Foods... she had problems eating at first but loved the zucchini bread I sent over ....
She said she thinks by next week she will be fine by herself but I'll continue to check in....
So glad she's doing ok..please let her know we are praying..
So the hotel is well within walking distance to the action..imagine this old gal saying I want to be near the 'action' likely be in bed by 8pm lol
took a few branches of 'orange blossom' in, wow, what a smell!
Missy even took time to smell the flowers
LindaKay glad your birthday is being celebrated and that you are enjoying with family.
Suse, sending hugs, difficult to lose a friend!
Bev, you looking after yourself?
Something is eating my hosta's..just sprayed them with mixture of soap and water..let's hope that does it!
Well, past my bedtime..each night I count how many sleeps there are until I get to see some of you..worse than a child..perhaps that's why I'm not sleeping well..to wound up!
Mary - those segways look like fun!
Betty - not to worry about the flowers. Bet they'll fill in again - they look like the type that would!
hmm maybe when my orange blossoms bloom this year I'll bring in a branch or two.......
I'm tired tonight - only 9pm, and I want to head to bed.......... tried to nap at 1pm, but phone rang 15 min after sleeping, then went back to bed to nap, and phone rang 15 minutes later......... finally gave up!! Now, I'm yawning, and really tired. As Bob says - "mental fatigue"........ had a 7:30 interview at an employment agency, so was out of the house at 6:45 and Bob gave me a ride home, then afterwards did job applications on the computer.......... think I'll head off to sleep now....... so tired my eyes are tearing.
Morning all, sunshine day in my neck of the woods!
Just finishing my coffee then off to water the planters, even numbered day so I get to water..amazing with the rain we've had the planters are so dry.
Lindakay, did you find that seafood?
Susan, is awfully early isn't it? Mental exhaustion 'tired' is the worse as the mind won't shut down so you can sleep.
Dianne, did you manage to sleep last night? Bet Streak was right by your side.
Barb, how's it going? Yep still waiting to hear where you and Norm celebrated his cancer free report?
Waving to everyonenelse

We had a wonderful dinner together at a small restaurant in the next town. The name of it is "Country Spirits" and it has a wonderful combination of gourmet and home cooked comfort food. I had Veal Oscar and Norm had the Captain's Table which is all seafood. Absolutely delicious and it was so nice to get out for a quiet evening together. We sure did enjoy it.
I'm glad it was special for you both, both had a great reason for celebrating!
Grandchildren will soon be out of school, bet they are as excited as mine are..next week Noah graduates from grade 8, he's so looking forward to high school. Sure hope it doesn't change his sweet disposition.
Hello Everyone!!!
It took 4 broken arms over 3 years for me to stop roller skating, by then I had grown out of it anyway and took up bike riding, have broken my arms twice walking and stumbling, can't stop walking because you hurt yourself! That's the part of learning it, you're gonna get hurt but the more you do it the less you fall. I didn't learn how to ride a bike til I was 8, oh Lordy all of the skinned knees, elbows, hands, face, torn clothes, etc, my goodness.
BEV so glad to see you posting, sorry your computer went kapoot! Sorry about your sister being sick too, that's what nobody needs.
Andy so glad you're on the bike! Sounds like you're doing fantastic and keep it up!!
Katie glad you made it to LA!
Hi Mary!!
To whoever asked, Chula Vista is south of San Diego.
Well I went home last night, usually go at lunch but have to man the phones this week so it'll be this evening also, Dave was there and I am so glad I left, boy he is a mess, having a major midlife crisis, I hope he can find something else to focus on and pull himself out of it but all he wants to do is party and tell me about all the women chasing him. Iye yey yey.
Betty - Place d'Armes looks so inviting, and "relaxing under the Magnolias" sounds so............... southern and Very Genteel! Thanks for posting the link!
OMG Crissy, sounds to me he is TERRIFIED of aging..sorry Dave, going to happen wether he likes it or not!!
Likely once you go to court it will be the deciding factor and he'll have to move out..if you think he's a mess now, just wait until that happens..so glad you kept track of finances and inheritance, you'll need it.
So nice seeing you post! Miss you
Let's just hope Susan that it is just that..I adapt, doesn't have to be high class as long as their are no bedbugs or cockroashes. I always say I'm not buying the place, just passing through. I know the hotel in Nashville, stayed there 3 or 4 times, nice and the one in Memphis, Crissy it's where we stayed when we met up last year, the one right across the street from Graceland and has guitar pool..it was nice and staff extremely pleasant.
Sounds like someone is busy stroking his own ego....kinda pitiful in its own passive/aggressive way.
Talked with Judy last night...her computer is limping along and is pretty much Kaput. She is running ragged as is her style...go, go, go....sends her hugs.
Katie, glad the trip is going well. Too cool the van is an easy drive. Take care and enjoy your visits.
Barb, glad you and Norm had a lovely celebratory dinner out.
Linda Kay, hope you are having a grand time.
Dianne...."pole dancing" is not necessarily the safest thing to take up after 30....grin. Please do be careful...we don't bounce as well as when we were kids.
Good thoughts to you all
[quote="themoonhowl"] ...we don't bounce as well as when we were kids./quote]
Crissy - I'm still going to go with what Jean's saying. I just don't "bounce" as well as I used to, even at 20! lol
I Would like to get some training wheels, but NOT going to pay $300 for 'em! I'll check on the Bike Calgary forum and see if someone's trying to sell used ones.........
Training wheels are only $20 at walmart or ToysRus
those are for kids..........the adult's ones are much, much more expensive......
But they are basically the same thing...here is a link for some others more sturdy.
I saw the ones you are talking about with stablizers. Very pricy.
They are cheaper http://www.fatwheels.com/

ok Debbie - I did see these for $115 (I need the extra $15 for derailers), and they do ship to Canada ...... it just seems everything adds to the cost.
btw - how do you measure for 20" or 24-27" bikes? I have no idea what the size of mine is........
This message was edited Jun 14, 2012 10:03 AM
Should be a number on the inside of your tire....that says size. Usually a womans is 26 inches...but should say
I can just see the tire pressure needed PSI............ no size, unless I'm to take the tire off, and it's really Inside the tire?
I can just see the tire pressure needed PSI............ no size, unless I'm to take the tire off, and it's really Inside the tire?
and when they say $119 EACH, are they talking about each tire? or each set?
gosh I'm hungry - time to have lunch I guess.......
