I think this is supposed to be Storm of the Century...I hope as it gets older the colors even out, the pic on the right is what it's supposed to look like
Garden Gems June 2012 #3
Here's that rose campion lily combo again...I'm really loving this!!! esp if you notice the bright green of the lily buds...what a gorgeous color combo
and then this area with the oranges, where you have the deep orange, the medium color orange and the light peach(which has a light sweet fragrance) I'm LOVING it!, close up of the lighter one
and a pink one
Can't recall a year when I had my hydrangeas in full bloom so early. Right now they all are - macros, serrata, oak leaf, arborescens and paniculata.
I checked last years pics and mine are all about the same timing
Penstemon Prairie Dusk, and my garden is exploding!
I really like that penstemon too!!.. not sure Jen but they look like something I ate at camp as a kid
Nice explosion, Pfg!!!
Love the color combos, Jen and RD.
Thanks.....Pam posted the Totally Tangerine geum that I'm drooling over....photo doesn't do it justice! Yes, Jen, that's a mulberry....Victor...not a bud on my hydrangeas yet....
Is anyone into succulents?
How do I winter these.Gift to me,I am in love with all and want to use them next year.
What do I replant them in
Most succulents do well in dry, sandy soil....
It helps if you know the name of the succulent. Many are hardy and could winter outside. For the others, give as much light as you can and water sparingly. I winter over a substantial number indoors and then put them out in planters in the summer. If it starts raining too much , I bring them in to dry out. They are wonderful plants. Use potting mix that drains really well.
Cool mulberry it is then, I'll have to try some
Pretty, LOVE that long border shot
I have the tags.
Yellow one is Fine Goldleaf Stonecrop Z9-11
blue succulent: Cotyledon species z 9 - 11
purple: Aeonium TipTop z 9 - 11
The last 2 are mature at 12 -18 inches. They will definatly need to be repotted.
love that long shot.. very pretty!!!

Thanks pixie,it's beginning to look like summer here.
Just stunning pixie. You can be proud of your gardens.
Thanks- it's finally filling in!
Gorgeous, both of you. Somebody ate my first set of Hummelo buds. Lovely lilies, hosta, beautiful views. I love all the iris... Never saw Spuria before! Might just have to get some. Has anyone bought from Wildwood Gardens?
I just looked up the cultivation. My soil should be right, but it says plant individual rhizomes 3' apart, they don't like to be moved?! How long before you get a clump? Hmmm...
Beautiful pictures, thank you for sharing.
GE, Pixie and PFG,
What beautiful gardens and pictures!! Such a pleasure to be seeing them this morning.
the gay's delight is one of my favs Jen!
