Betty - do you wear those funky rubber shoes (Duck shoes, I think they're called?!) when you're walking in the pond so you don't slip?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Actually took them off , I took a hot bath , finished 3 more outdoor pillows and now ready for bed. suzanne will pick me up in the morning so I don't have to drive.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Glad Suzanne is "there" for you. Take care Betty :-)

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

I can so not wait to get there, Betty!! Gosh the flowers all look lovely. I've never had any luck with lupine before. Planted it 3 times before I gave up for good and I love it so much.... :o( The wiegilias are beautiful. I have Wine and Roses, a variegated leaf one (called Varieagata, imagine that) and My Monet....they've all been done a looooong time.

Victoria Harbour, ON

next year I will research what grows in months of June

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

I got a reservation at Comfort Inn in Midland. We are on the ground floor so easy to get things in and out and have a frig. and microwave for quick food for Jonathan. He is so much fun! We went to a new Jo Ann's Fabric in Toledo yesterday and he and I looked at garden things. He found a big metal dog that wiggled and he and I talked to it. He pointed to the eyes and I said, "where are your eyes?" He pointed to his eyes, then we went through the nose, mouth, ears, etc. and he knew each one! He is so smart...nothing like a proud grandma!
I am trying to finish a few sewing things before we go. Have two purses, a quilt to start and one to finish.

See you all soon.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Janice, which days did you book??? you will not be far at all, so glad they still had rooms..sure hope you will be here for the Friday and Saturday at least..
You've every right to be a proud grandma. Does Jonathan like travelling? You are not that far are you from Stacey??

What would it be for Joyce to drive up to meet you? think the last time I was south I took note of the distance and it's about 3 or 4 hours?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sorry, I read all and all I can think right now is what Joyce posted.
Go ahead Cookie.. enjoy ANY eye candy for me and Marion! :P
Goodness, what mischief would you be getting into this time?
Sistah.. yes, do hug others for me please!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hmmm eye candy, are we thinking I should be calling a male dancing company to visit with us one night?? lol
DO NOT put thoughts in my mind!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I have a wonderful site for you - it's a Wonderful World

OHHH Steve and Paul would just love that.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Maybe I could hire them lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, a dancing guy... Is his name Elvis?

Love those babies!

Loved that video Susan!

Lyndonville, NY

I have seen my husband....and NO...thank you. I am on vacation from that.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - do you think Sharon would let you babysit the babies?

Yes - I thought that video was great - I could just hear Louis Armstrong singing "It's a Wonderful World".

My interview went well - this time with the Boss (Bashar) and HR Rep (Dean). Bashar was trying to "trip me up" re: ngineering terminology (I'm not in the industry, so might get depressed when my high expectations aren't met - hogwash! I told him depression is personal, and I don't take these types of things personally, just work harder!). I told him I have an excellent work ethic, and am able to learn at a very fast rate - will study/research!
When Bashar left, Dean said he was "rooting for me", because engineering terminology aside, he thinks I'd be the best match, for technical and personality. They need someone to start Monday, and have 2 other people to interview. Dean is going to talk to Bashar to speak to him about me, and maybe I'll be called in for a 3rd interview. I'll let you know

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie, you remember I've been alone for 7 years!!!
What have you been up to, you've been so quiet..

LindaKay, that was the most upsetting thing for me about this entire Gathering, I called about 3 Elvis's closes to my area who compete in Collingwood, got response back that they are fully booked up and couldn't do a Sunday morning Gospel hour..boo hoo

Victoria Harbour, ON

Interview #3, do they really interview that many times? Well let's hope a good word is said and you will be employed come Monday. How is Bob doing with his job search?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Bob's out at his current construction job - gets his first pay tomorrow......

Yes, they could potentially interview 3x..... this is a high level Project Assistant position in Oil & Gas. As I said, Dean will speak to Bashar about me, and Dean really likes my resume & experience.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Here is hoping!

Just got a call from the car dealership, Larry wants me to drop in Saturday..guess I will have to make up my mind up about the car. Keep thinking if I'm doing our roadtrip should I keep the car I have and put all the miles on it OR should I have new car to travel the roads with.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Decisions, decisions....well, personally, I like eye candy, but I like eye candy from a distance!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Though you were going to say from a different store. Lol
Ann just called, she thought Friday night band was hotel California/eagles but it's. 50,s tribute..Lordy that means we will likely know the words of the songs

Victoria Harbour, ON

Must go take inventory of who is already by name on the league post in back garden, think I will be short 4 or 5 mileage signs..keep finding projects to do

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

lol you and your projects, Betty!! How's the RR Quilt block coming?!?!?!

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'm home tomorrow, must stay close to telephones so hopefully will come up with something so I can keep on track!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

sounds good to me, Betty!!!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Haven't posted in a while... but I just wanted to say... we're still coming !!! and sooooo excited about our trip to Betty's.
Our lives have had some twists and turns lately... some good, some bad... and all keeping us very busy.
College is out for the summer, So I have had some Kristy & Friends Invasion weekends. They're so much fun.
Sister and BIL visited last weekend, and had 3 fun packed days on the lake with them. PLUS, sis always inspires me to do things I never thought about... like I needed one more thing on my plate... gotta love her, though.
Now that hockey and basket ball is over, and all we have is baseball season to deal with, Don has some time on his hands... so, we have relocated all the crafty things to other parts of the house, and he's commenced to tearing out walls in the craft room... the water damage is more extensive than we first thought... so the renovation is going to take longer than we thought.
I've got my sewing machine set up now in the poker room, and am starting on some new dresses for our trip. Now, all I need to do is find more time in the day... oh, yea... the only way to get more time is to send Don back to work... guess I need to call his boss, huh?
Looking forward to seeing everyone in a couple weeks... the excitement mounts.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Anxious to see you, too, BJ...seems like a long time since we were all at your house!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

OH............ maybe by then I will be able to come to a Gathering......... that would be LUVERLY!! (one can hope, right?)

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

Betty, I got a reservation at Comfort Suites in Midland. They gave us a first floor so no carrying up stairs and a crib for Jonathan. We are coming on Thursday and Joyce is coming to my house the night before so we can get an early start to pick up Stacey and the baby. What has your weather been like? If like ours it has been up and down. Hard to know what to pack for different areas and different weather.

I am making a purse for Stacey and I having been fighting with it for two days. I changed the size of the zipper called for and it is causing me all kinds of pain. Going to go back to what they suggested and work on it next week. A have three quilts to start and finish. One navy blue for a neighbor with no deadline, one for a good friend who is a real Civil War buff made with reproduction fabrics and pattern which I want done for her 65th birthday in August, and a Christmas quilt for my daughter hopefully for her birthday in October. Better get sewing!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon all,

Can't believe it's 2pm..where did the mornimg go??

Janice weather has been up and down, will. Provide weather forecast closer to the gathering date! Can't believe it's almost here, shucks, seems like forever since we agreed it would be here...then nothing for 1/2 year, then I posted this thread thinking it was ions away and lo and behold 2 1/2 week...

Guess like some who have already hosted, I'm second guessing myself, the gardens that I think are pretty are they pretty enough, the house ??? Will they find this little hick town to their liking and on and on...I put a lot of me in it, from drywall, to flooring to decks, but will it be ok..so shutting my mind off to those things, all will enjoy being together and to heck with surroundings!!

Left for town in the rain, got back at 11:30am, set myself up to cut grass, did 1/4 of it and ran out of gas so off to the gas station..now it's sunshine and hot..won't sit here too long as I'll forget that Ive energy to burn off.

Janice, don't let the purse get you down, perhaps set it aside for a day or two and an easy method will come back to you!

Joyce, before you know it you and Joanna will be on the big bird..so glad you are not letting the downs of life get to you and cancel your trip..

Joyce, now that's one buch of good looking ladies, you must be so proud..and yes, the one in black is just gorgeous.
