Lets keep the swapping going.
Swapping & Chatting Ric & Holly's Swap III
hee hee, isn't it insane all the swapping? Thanks Holly!
I just love it. I hear that Gardador has put up a great list but I haven't gotten there yet.
Gita - is the Maya fragrance as good as Dr. S or Charles G? If so...or close...I'd love one or two - please and thank you.
Gardadore, can i get Centaurea Montana Blue and Dicentra Bacchanal?
Gardadore,
My wish list
Adenophora Bulleyana
Brunnera Langtrees
Chrysanthemum Emperor of China
Dicentra Bacchanal
Euphorbia Fireglow
Leptodermis
Lilac Miss Kim
Anyone have chickweed by chance? I know we're getting past their 'season' but if anyone still has some - I'd be thrilled.

I will look Chantell... does it matter if it's in flower?
Chantelle--
Of all the Brugs I have grown, nothing beats Dr. S. for fragrance. However, they are ALL fragrant.
I will be potting out my Dr. S. maybe tomorrow. It also has pretty sprawled branching and I am sure i will
be cutting some of it back. I will pot up the most promising looking pieces.
Do you have a Dr.S.? It is identical to C.G. except the DR. has serrated leaves. CG has smooth.
I have never taken cuttings in the spring. I imagine they should root just as well--even though they are coming
out of dormancy. Sitting dry and forlorn in my dark shop since late October. They are all alive--
and some kept growing leaves on the branch ends.
Maybe these spring cuttings will grow into nice plants and bloom for toy next year.
Will tag 2 of each for you. Gita
onewish - nah doesn't have to be blooming...just happy to have some plant...thank you!!
thank you, gita - my CG has kept min leaves on during the winter - God love his sweet smelling heart!!
Chantell, I'm not certain of my ability to identify the right weed for you, although I'm pretty sure chickweed is in the mix... but you can come by my place any time and help yourself! ;-)
(I will look around and take a photo if I think I've found some.. is this the one with, not quite succulent, but sort of thicker leaves?)
See http://www.ppws.vt.edu/scott/weed_id/steme.htm for photos of chickweed.
Thanks, Happy. Er... I think I just raked great heaps of that out of the veggie bed... it pops up most years and serves as a lazy-gardener's ground cover until I'm ready to till & plant. I may be able to find some good looking ones, still, but most of it seemed to be seriously dying back already. Does it last long in your garden in summer, Chantell? I mean, I've never tried watering it to keep it going...
Chantelle---
I just looked at my small Dr. S. It has 3 stems in 3 directions. I cannot cut any of these--as I would be cutting below the "Y".
So sorry to get your hopes up. Anyone else as well. I just cannot cut this one.
My apologies. Gita
Hey Critter, the more succulent weed you mention above may be wild portulaca, better known as purslane and edible...http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/242/
Read thru some of the commennts for nutritional info and uses. Seems others have found purslane to be a good "lazy gardeners ground cover" too. Grows all season and tolerates drought and tastes good....hummm.
I used to let it grow all around and under my tomato plants. Stays low to the ground and radiates out. Got about 2' wide. Yep, seems some things we pull out are nutitionally richer than some things we put in!

No worries Gita...thank you though!!
As to the chickweed....LOL...I'll hve to look at the pic as I haven't had any personally so my attempting to ID it wouldn't be hmmm - ummm....reliable...LOL
You have a garden and don't have chickweed? I knew that Dave's Garden was international, but I didn't realize it was interplanetary.
Chickweed is a winter annual and will die down after blooming as it is about now. I have tasted mine and didn't think it was anything other than grassy to be honest. I'd agree the leaves seem just slightly thickened, more than say lettucey. Purslane is succulent and I have not noticed any coming up yet (even the dang seeds I planted from Pinetree). You should try lamb's quarter if you have not already. Highly nutritious, cooks tender but to an unappealing army green color.
If you want a laugh, watch Sunny on Veria show "Hot on the Trail" she makes recipes with wild foods and raves about them all. Now I agree with the philosophy and fun of knowing how to use wild foods. She's just so...airheaded and I think she has smoked a lot of her wild foods as well if ya get my drift ...
Oh sorry back to swapping...
Hey Gita
I will preswap, swap the Dr Seuss brug you have set aside for me to Chantell if you will please remove my name and put Chantell's on it. Thanks in advance, Judy
Hey, Sally, have you moved? Just where is Extreem Euphorbia? Do tell. Here or on a regularother ongoing thread! Or both. lol
(just a chuckle from an ID thread! You're so observant! )
LOL greenthumb!!!
Forgot to move to this thread!
ssgardener,
Since I got a bit confused yesterday between some people's have and wish lists, I see that you are the one I should be requesting the Sedum John Creech from! May I have some please?
Thanks!
Buttoneer,
May I add a request for a Miniature Soloman's Seal to the request post on the previous thread (II) ? Thanks!

Chantell, I think I had 1 patch of it...I'll see if it's still there. If it is it's yours!
AYankeeCat on the NE forum makes a delicious quiche with all the "weeds" including lambs quarters
Chantell, the stuff in the veggie bed might be related, but I don't think it's quite the same... however, I am pretty sure I found a couple of good clumps in my deck containers, still thriving because they got watered LOL. Joyanna and I potted them up for you. I'm glad some other people have them for you too, though, in case we have the wrong thing!
Gardadore, I was wondering who else had John Creech! I'll pot it up for you. :-)
Our WalMart had quart pots (1 eye, but robust) of Hosta 'Whirlwind' the other day for $3, I think I paid... if anybody wants me to pick one up, LMK. I still have a couple extra Rozanne available (quarts that I got for $2.50) if anybody needs one.
And while we're on the topic of good deals to share at the swap... I have some extra Atlas 370 garden gloves in size "M" from my winter order, available at my cost of $3.25... if you want to try a pair, Dmail me and I'll let you know what colors I have left. I also have a couple spare sets of "thermafit" gloves that are great for chilly fall days (also size "M"). If you want a bunch of them or want them in a different size, I just got an email from palmflex that they are offering free shipping on these gloves as a mother's day special. http://www.palmflex.com/atlas-gloves/
Awwwww....coleup! You are a sweetheart!
I will swapthe Brug--if you are sure. I cannot believe I ran out! I had so many!
I better check my dormant bigger ones and see if one of them may be a Dr. (not!)
Only have 4----so I would think I ID'd them all.
Maya is easy to tell apart. its leaves are variegated green and white.
The neat thing about the Maya is that when a bloom is about to open,
it starts yellow. Then changes to a milk-white--and finally to a pale apricot.
See my 2nd picture I posted above. It has all 3 colors on it.
Dr. S.'s leaves have serrated edges. Charles Grimaldi's (CG) are smooth.
Holly!
How would you like to have one of my B-I-G pink NOID Brugs?
It is out of "energy"--I think--in the shop. The leaves it had are all falling off.
The trunk is pretty massive with very strong side-branching. No wonder!
Will go take a picture.....
I had a "dead" trunk from the other Pink NOID--and it is now growing like gang-busters.
So--I do not need two pink NOID's.
I can cut it down somewhat, and root-prune it and pot it up for you in fresh soil.
I KNOW it will grow!!!! You will have an instant "tree"....... :o)
Besides--then there will be more cuttings.....teeee...heee.....God help me!!!!!!
Honestly--I am losing my sanity over all this! Have you all looked at my "Promised To" list?
It is a marathon!!!!! I have been working over all the promised plants for over a month now....
None of them are from seeds....ALL potted up and growing....
OK! Took pictures to show you all the state my 4 Brugs are in today!
1--The Maya Brug after I gave it a "haircut"....hence aall the new cuttings available.
2--My little Dr. Seuss. Remember--it also got "pruned" last fall. So--not much left.
3--My "from stumps to glory" pink NOID Brug. All root-pruned & re-potted and "GO" for the season.
4--The "other" pink NOID Brug still in the Shop. Holly--this is YOURS!
I will have to cut it back quite a bit--or it will never fit in my car. It will grow---like the other 'stumps" one.
Holly! Do you want this one????????? HUH??? HUH?????
5--Not about Brugs--but look how well my Wintersweet Shrub has re-grown after last year's
pruning it back by at least a third! And I thought it may have ruined it!
Gita
Gita, I will be very happy with any Brug you have to give me. Some of my house plants are looking pretty rough right now too. So hard to keep them going over winter.
Judy - that was so sweet of you...believe me I have more than enough plants!! Are you sure b/c I certainly don't 'need' another plant and I do have a Charles G. brug who's smell is pretty amazing!! Gita - if I can't find the tag for my one Brug - I may ask your help in IDing her later in the season. I can't for the life of me remember which one she is.
Dave - LOL @ "interplanetary" - I'm quite certain that my neighbors at times wonder what planet my yard calls home. I just laugh.
For all of you helping me (esp. Miss Joyanna) in my search for Chickweed - big thanks and hugs!!! Someone may have already responded, Jill...but my understanding is it dies off once late spring/early summer heat is upon us. Any of you interested in the Chickweed Pesto recipe - let me know and I'll make copies for you. Jen that quiche sounds yummeeee!!!
I will be adding Waldsteinia Fragarioides (yellow barren strawberry) to my list if anyone is interested. They bloom in the early spring and spread like strawberries would but are easy to pull out and fill in an area nicely as a ground cover. http://www.bluestoneperennials.com/WAFR.html
Sally can I get some Radicchio- Rossa di Chioggia
Jill can I get some basil(whatever variety you have)
anyone have any rosemary?
I'll let you know if I successfully divide my Rosemary, Jen.
Thanks Terri
Chantele---
I am still confused.....Do you want for "coleup" to give up her Dr. Seuss Brug for you?????
"coleup"--do you want to do give it up ????
Please communicate with each other and see who really wants what. It is NOT up to me!
I have the one, last one, and you both need to decide. NOT me!
Holly--is that a "YES" on my attempt to give you the old, pink "NOID" Brug stumps ?
Time is getting short. I need to know who wants to do what. I will do the best to comply.
NOT being Judge and Jury here.......but I want to stay sane in all this process......
Will be watching this Thread to see what you all want to do.....
Gita
Jen - my Rosemary needs a major 'haircut' - how are you at rooting hardwood cuttings? If any hanging branches have rooted I'll be happy to bring it with me.
Gita - please don't stress over this. Judy or I will be happy to provide a home for your Dr. S brug. My comments were to let her know how sweet she was to offer but I didn't want her to think I HAD to have it. God knows I have plenty plants...many due to the generosity of our amazing DG family.
Chantelle----
The issue here a that I do not HAVE any more cuttings of Dr. Seuss for anyone.
have one Dr. S. rooted cutting reserved for Coleup--one of the cuttings I have been nurturing since last October.
Coleup is empathetic enough to have decided for "Chantelle" to have the one she has.
I am backing out of this decision....It is NOT up to me....You both decide--and let me know..
Gita
