This is lily #2 for me this year. I found these NOID lilies growing when I took over my current property and this is the first time I have ever seen them bloom. Last fall I dug up the original clump and moved the resulting bulbs (about 40 or 50 total) to various places around the yard.

I am not really a fan of LA lilies or of lilies with upfacing blooms, but these are pleasant enough. They have a light, sweet scent and measure about 7" across. First bloom was May 25.

Anyone recognize this lily? Notice the faint speckling in the throat.

This is just a wild guess.
If the lilies are short they could be Buff Pixie
If they are over 30 inches tall they could be Salmon Classic.
Hope someone with a real answer helps.

Hi Ispahan,

I was curious, so I did an LA search and the closest thing I found is on the Brent and Becky web site, although thelighting in the photo is different from yours. It's LA Orange Tycoon.

https://store.brentandbeckysbulbs.com/summer/productview/?sku=84-102

The stuff that popped up in my new garden included two Casa Blanca lilies! I lost the last of mine so this was a real find.

I also have a hydrangea that the previous owner (a very dear friend) moved to a shadier location because it didn't bloom. But between the mild winter, fertilizer, and 15 minutes of soaker hose watering once a week, the huge plant has at least 40 buds.

Here is another pic of Orange Tycoon.

I think we are at least close.

On this rainy last day of May (hooray for the much needed rain!), one of my Rosepoint Lace bulbs has sprung into glorious flower. This is one of the Lilium lankongense hybrids planted last fall that started showing buds at only 3-4 inches tall this spring, but has elongated fairly nicely and is now 22 inches tall with three buds (one yet unopened). I planted five bulbs total of this strain: three remaining stems have buds almost ready to pop (maybe tomorrow?) and one stem stayed a few inches shorter and aborted its buds. Perhaps it is too immature to flower or just needs time to settle in.

To my eyes, it is beautiful and I have high hopes for taller stems, a higher bud count and some signs of multiplication next season!

By the way, the use of Allium caeruleum and A. christophii was inspired by DonnaMack. Thank you, Donna! :-)

Finally I can join everyone. My first lily to bloom
Question is it
Tropical Dream?
Ladylike?
Starven?

My vote is for Starven. Reminds me of Buggy, who I miss.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

That IT I will officially name it that. It was in a mix from Lisa who was under appreciated until it was almost too late.

Agawam, MA(Zone 6a)

You are so right, I found her late-I only had a couple of years to purchase her lilies. Now I wish I had purchased more.(ALL)

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

The deal was for a bag of mixed 25 asiatic bulbs. She sent over 35.
All absolutly beautiful and not the typicle assortment of upfaceing lilies. I have been able to ID a few but not all. I guess my favorite white is Carnova, huge blooms so tranquil and beautiful with Campion alba.

Just beautiful. I never had a blub from her that wasn't beautiful!

Buggy was always my premier source for lilies. I think this Venture was in the first order received from her.

What would be the perfect start to a beautiful June morning? How about the heady, sweet, delicious scent of Lilium regale.

My original stem of 'Rosepoint Lace' is becoming flushed with shades of pink, and it has indeed developed a very light but sweet fragrance.

Oh, Ispahan, I agree. Those are two of my earliest too, and they are glorious.

Rosepoint Lace with allium cerulium! Nice!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I didnt know RPL did that. Both are just lovely. The regals remind me of my grandmothers garden. She grew many lilies only a few varieties but we were allowed to pick the regals for boquets. Sister and I decorated our faces with the yellow pollen and played "dressup"

Hello everyone, the blooms are all gorgeous. It's clear that spring has really sprung all over with the beautiful blooms being posted. I've taken a lot of pictures over the last few weeks, but just haven't had time to post them. I finally uploaded some pictures this evening, and realized I have over 1000 pictures of the garden, OH MY!!!! Now it's just a matter of resizing them to post. Here are some pictures of the 2 new beds that I did last spring. The peonies are done blooming, and the lilies and daylilies have taken over. Annette

L. A. Trinity. This lily grew as soon as I planted it last fall. It never froze despite the cold spells and freezing weather that it was expose to this winter, and it started blooming this past week. I love the delicate color.

Cem,

Lovely, lovely, lovely. Worth the wait. Beautiful lilies. And as a person whose neighbors have chain link fences (shrubs are going in to hide them) I adore your fence!

It's wonderful how many lilies you have that are the trumpet type that splay from the top. The combo of up facing, out facing and down facing is delightful.
