MORE NEWS!!!! FROM FB AN HOUR AGO......

"HAPPY TEARS THIS MORNING! Adams brain tumor has shrunk from chemo, a 3rd of what it was!!!!!!! : D
The cancer cells that spread in his head are so small that they cant find them.. They are very happy with these results because this type of cancer (A.T.R.T.) doesnt always respond to chemo like that!
Adam is going in this afternoon to put a shunt in and another central line..YAY NO more tubes coming out of his head! We will talk to the oncologist this afternoon to see if they will go after the tumor this week or more chemo first. The radiologist said the scans showed the spots in the spine have spread but our doctors said they dont believe it has because they compared them to the older scans and saw no changes .. they will scan again in a few weeks..
After he heals from that brain surgery they will be hitting him again with more chemo and hopefuly that will take care of the spots in his spine!
Wish us luck today :D PRAY FOR HIM FRIENDS"

I too have a very wet face, happy, happy tears this morning!!

Congrats!

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Cutco seems to offer great jobs for young people. Congratulations.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

always good to hear about new jobs starting up.. she must be thrilled to be a part of that

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I and her parents are amazed at how she just took off. She has worked for them for 3years and is a manager now. Cutco is a US company. It is suspect by many young people because of direct sales but if you are a college age kid and have good people skills you can go anywhere your ambition takes you. Lots of motivational meetings and awards. GD was a quiet shy kid,we just dont know where the fire came from. Maybe she doesnt like flipping burgers and making decent money.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Yippee for GD! Wishing her tons of good luck!! I own a set of Cutco knifes, expensive but they are worth it. Tough as nails, lifetime warranty....they last forever!

Thomaston, CT

Our church bazaar always sells Cutco knives in November....I have some, & love them!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I like the fact the knives are made in this country.
We send ours back to the company for resharpening ,quick turnaround.

Its comforting to know GD will have a job when she graduated in 2013.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

I, too, have a set and like it very much. I've neverhadmine sharpened. Will look into that.
Good for her, Jo!!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

We love ours.Needless to say we have ALL the knives. Her father would place orders when she needed money to fill a months quota. Their cheese knife is fantastic. If you ever use them.

Thomaston, CT

Tomato knife is my fav!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Saw my MIL today. In good spirits but still dealing with C diff. Nasty bug! Three more weeks of IV anti's.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Glad she is in good spirits, Victor

How's your mom and your hand?

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

yes how is the hand?... glad she is in good spirits.. always helps

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Better, thanks, but still far from normal. The index feeling gets that funky, tingling nerve pain when it touches anything. But I am determined to get into the garden starting Monday!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Whoa! I feel sorry for that guy in the BMW suit.

I had a salesman from Cutco come over to demonstrate their knives for me. Very nice, but I could not afford them. I loved how the scissors could cut a penny into a spiral. Amazing! Congrats to your GD, Jo.

Great news on baby Adam! Still sending prayers and good thoughts his way.

Victor, I hope the hand gets better and that your MIL gets better, too. I'm glad to hear she's in good spirits and that you're so determined to get back into your gardening. I would be just as determined. Can't see much keeping me out of my gardens for long.

Thanks everyone, just got off the phone with niece Lisa (baby Adams Grammy) and she said we will need lots of prayers Thursday morning. They plan on going in and removing as much of the tumor as possible. I wish they would allow him some time to heal....he had a biopsy, a torn intestine, fungal infection in his blood, thrush, and yesterday they put the shunt in. The plan is to resume chemo as soon as possible after surgery,....he's certainly a fighter, but geez-um, he's just a baby!!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Covering him in prayers

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Same here.

Gave blood yesterday - automated double red cells. They always practically mug me when I tell them I am O negative!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

lol

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

last time I gave blood I got really nauseous and I almost passed out. and now since getting pregnant with my daughter they have trouble finding my veins

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Luckily, never had that problem. My mom does.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

all my life they had trouble finding veins.. my one dr used to draw the blood from me since he knew he was better than the nurse was

Thomaston, CT

Doug was also O neg. & was a blood donor until his stroke....Pixie, I agree on waiting for Adam's procedure, but maybe the doctors feel they can't wait....Victor, you may need physical therapy on that hand.....
