Coffee Break # 79
Jan, how sad.....hoping & praying for both physical & emotional healing....
Sorry Jan, prayers for your family
Oh Dear, Jan..I had so hoped all was going well with her pregnancy. I'm so very sorry for your many losses of grandchildren. Royale and Charles are definitely in my prayers, along with you and Jeff and the whole family. That really is a tough one. Sending you hugs!
I'm so sorry to hear that Jan.
Many thanks dear friends.
Oh Jan so sorry to read this, my heart breaks for you. Prayers for you and you family for healing and peace♥
Sorry to hear the sad news, Jan. Hope the healing will begin soon.
I know I can count on you guys.
Victor, how did your son make out at the music competition?
that's terrible Jan.. prayers on the way
He did pretty well - 23 out of a possible 28 pts. Higher difficulty level. He did lose two points on the reading. Thanks.
Jan, I'm so sorry to hear about your DDIL's sorrow, and yours as well, and the whole family's. Good thoughts and prayers are going your way from me.
Here's an update on Dad. He did not do well at the Golden Living Center in Plymouth, where he had gone for rehab. Unfortunately he was hitting people there and throwing things, and they weren't equipped to handle his behaviors. Not only that, but they needed to be one-on-one with him, as he insisted on getting up and walking around all the time, and he is a fall risk now. He was sent to Jordan Hospital 2 days ago. He is now in the senior behavioral health unit there, where they will find a med that can help him. He has been quite well behaved since he's been here and seems happier. They will evaluate him, and he may go back to GLC, or maybe to one of their other locations that has an Alzheimer's unit. Don't know what will happen yet. Tomorrow I will be talking to the doctor at Jordan.
We want to keep trying to have him at home, once he has gone through rehab and regains all his strength, and is hopefully less confused. We will see how it goes on a trial basis. I'm thinking that we could hire some people to help out with him. We can use the money we get from Adult Family Services, as well as money from his SSI. I don't know how it will work out. This means that my sister and I will have to make sure that everyone is paying their equal share of all the utilities in this household. There are 5 people living here (not including Dad), so there really shouldn't be a problem coming up with enough money to get the bills paid. Will see what happens. It will have to be that way even if Dad goes into a nursing home, but we really want him to stay at his own home.

Victor, I'm glad to hear your boy did so well. Kudos to him.
Jan, that is so nice that the boy you wrote about went on to make his own CD. Very good! It's not always so important for a person to be able to read music, though I'm sure it's a great benefit. For some gifted people, playing by ear is enough. Elvis couldn't read music, but he was really good at playing a guitar.
Karen
My sister and both my brothers could read music and play by ear...don't know what happened to me.
All the best with your dad, Karen.
We've got "Assasins" up our ears. DD2 had to squirt DD1 with her water gun to stay in the game, but they agreed to split any prize. They have an advantage because people who don't know them can't tell them apart, and they track and squirt the wrong girl. Now her target is one of the game organizers, and pretty crafty. The few kids left are smart, and athletes and they want the $700 prize. We have to check our gates every time our dog goes outside, because it gets left open at night by the lurking assasin. Boo, he got into Middlebury College, too, and he keeps squirting the girl who didn't get into that college. Cliffie did go on a long walkabout but but came home safely to our front door, happy and out of breath.
Victor, please tell your dear son, Congratulations on a job well done!!!
Karen, continued good wishes for your dad. Praying for his ongoing rehab.
Thanks for all your prayers and support. Our faith definitely helps ease our grief.
Rosemary, that sounds like a fun way to focus their energies at this time of year.
Ronnie, that sounds like me with artistic abilities. Heehee. I guess I was behind the door when that talent was handed out.
Tomorrow, I am meeting my college roommate for a wildflower walkabout at Tyler Arboretum which just happens to be in her neighborhood. Hope the weather holds up. Yippee!!
Sounds like fun, Jan....Karen, glad your Dad is improving in his new place...hope he continues getting stronger...I'm sure he wants to be back home....
