It's really nice to hear that baby Leah is thriving.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Sexist question time. Just back from the drive-thru bank. Just made it before closing. But, of course, I am behind someone who waits until SHE pulls up to the window to fill everything out. In all honesty, EVERY single time I have seen this, it has been a woman. Please tell my WHY!!! ^_^

Thomaston, CT

Don't look here....I always have my checks signed & deposit slip made out...today, however, the drive-thru teller asked for my license, and wanted me to re-sign my check because the check was made out to Marilyn C. and my deposit slip says Marilyn A. Told her I had been cashing that retirement check for a dozen years, & no one ever questioned it. She has seen me several times before, but was just being a pain! Debi....such good news about Leah!

Don't look at me either, I always have it done before going to the bank

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Ditto, or else I go inside.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Same here...

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

not me either... I always have everything in order before I leave the house.. and always have it in an easy pocket in my purse.. that gets me mad too

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

they live in denial victor :)

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

yes you do

:)

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Well, in my house, my husband has signed the check before we leave, and I say sign it at the window in case someone wants to mug the woman (me) before she gets there. But I do have it ready. I do I do. What can I say? I've lived in some very dangerous neighborhoods in the past.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

IDK, are these women that are always in front of you blonds???

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Don't you hate it when your coffee is not just right in the morning?! Throws off everything. That was this AM for me. I just brewed another, do-over cup!

Thomaston, CT

I thought Victor was the blond!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

How bout when you brew it, here the beep-beep saying it's done and when you get there you realize you forgot to put in the coffee!!!!!

Forgot to mention that the beep-beep has hubby and son rushing for the pot only to witness my blonde moment.

Jeff found the coffee maker at school had been left on all weekend. He cleaned it up. Thankfully it wasn't damaged..

Luck it didn't start a fire!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No auto shutoff??

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

You mean it doesn't call you on your cell to let you know it's still on??? LOL

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Apparently no shut off valve. My first thought was a fire, too. Maybe whoever's job it is, didn't have their phone with them to get the message. Heehee

Just got back from seeing a kindergarten production of The Little Red Hen. DGS was one of the lazy little friends. Very cute!!!

Thomaston, CT

I love the kindergarten shows the best.....wish they could stay small forever....well, maybe not!

When David was in kindergarden he said he was sick just before his play, but I thought it was nerves and made him do it anyway...he threw up in the teachers wastebasket immediately afterwards! Poor kid!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

At least he got it in the basket.

Thanks for the prayers for Wanda, everyone. She is currently in a nursing home, and I'm guessing she's getting good care, but she needs more than just good care. She needs people who will push her to struggle for her recovery. It's really hard with her all the way over there. I wish we could move her here.

Our sister Dawn went to visit her last month. She said Wanda was looking good, and really looked like she wanted to talk and wanted to try and move, but was not able to. She's trapped in a body that won't work right now, and I think her mind is there to some extent. There's no telling how much she remembers, and it may be years before we know.

Her son Ryan has moved over here. He is living with our brother and SIL, and though we don't speak to them,
Ryan does come to visit us quite frequently. He works at the Walmart right down the street from us, so he comes by before work sometimes, and then comes over on his lunch break, which is 8 p.m. (he works the evening shift). He loves it here much better than TX. He hated the heat over there, and I don't blame him. He likes cold weather.

Hurray for you stepson's wife, Marilyn! That's encouraging news.

Great news about Leah, Deb! I'm so glad she is improving.

Adam Update:

Adam's central line was removed successfully Monday and now we just need his blood to come back negative for yeast cultures so they can put a less permanent line back into him to give him his meds (he has an IV on each hand until then).. His white blood cells counts are UP a little more not where they need to be but .... going up is a good sign.
He had a CT scan yesterday morning and an MRI to get pictures of his brain and spine.
They are hoping to put in a shunt today if his counts are high enough and depending on what the MRI & CAT scan show, they hope to go in after the tumor next week.
His Mom cut his hair as it was falling out in big clumps from the chemo, and they put an eye patch on him as the pressure from the tumor on his brain has caused his eye to cross some. Here he is resting comfortably on Tuesday with out the patch , you can notice his eyes in this picture.

Please keep praying for him please, he's gone through so much already and keeps bouncing back....he's a fighter!!
