It's so gorgeous when open
Garden Gems - April 2012, Part 2
Love all the photos, I really haven't spent much time in my garden, will have to look and see what's happening.
great tour Jen.. love the fountain!!
Very nice!
I am so happy with that Rogersia.. guess putting tons of water gels under it was a good thing!!
Yes - it LOVES water.
that's what the guy at fairweather told me... said the momma was living in a pondish area in the middle of the woods.... to keep it real wet... Randy dug a really deep hole.. and I put two layers of gels down in there.. mixed each one up.. thank god.. since it hasn't rained steady.. and not a spot I normally water until later on
OMG Bill, those are just beautiful, i'd love to be a bird in your yard right now. :)
Wonder if she'll lay her eggs in your garden Jo! LOL
Allison, I love that red az! I think the ones I got last year from you bit the big one. :(
Very pretty Jen, love Grace Ward, it has survived here, but barely. :(
oh no.. so sorry Celeste.. I know how much you liked them
:(
Looks like B kawa, Bill.
Bill, those colors are just amazing! I love the different leaf shapes as well.....Jen & Allison, many lovely photos from both of you, & Jo, I wondered like Pixie whether she was looking for a nesting area.....you might have Mallard babies......
Celeste, I'm disappointed in that Grace Ward, too
thanks all and thanks victor will try and shape it back into a tree again.
rogersia love water allison - moved mine back to a bed by the pond that is always wet.
My hawthorn Winter King is all out of shape from the snow last fall. Not sure what I will do. A large branch split but is still fully alive on both sides of the split.
always a bummer
were there any spent blooms? looks like it could be a magnolia
no spent blooms...aren't magnolia leaves shinier?
Looks like a magnolia to me as well.....
Saucer Magnolia is what it reminds me of.
I'll need to go back earlier next year and check to see the blooms
what a great yard Bill.. love to see it all at once again!!!
Very nice, if you like perfect. ;)
would NEVER happen here Victor
;)
Bill you have a great layout,so soothing to the eye.
Victor I have Dawn.I planted it last year and had a bloom that summer. The plant isnt very big now but alive and I hope for fuller blooms.Pix when it does. Late May or June.
Not quite perfect, I see a garden hose!
i did too was tying to keep it out of the frame - not
Still way up there Bill
I like the white iris
I'm sitting here in the cold and almost nothing is blooming yet but I'm loving all your pictures, very inspiring. Bill, I want to see your garden in person someday!
was nice to see in person
Me again.....believe that is " Blueberry Tart"
I can totally hear your Maine accent saying that name... thanks babe!!
;)
the tag must have disappeared... thought everything you gave me was marked... the slope strikes again.. will look around for it
What accent? ^_^
It's either 'Blueberry Tart' or 'Indian Beauty'....I always get them mixed up. IrisMA would be able to tell the difference. :)
Jen & I went to a mid atlantic seed swap this past sat... and the one woman was from Boston originally .. I knew it right way.. told her she will fit right in at a NE swap!!!... it did make me giggle a bit when I read your blueberry tart... I read it like you would say it
;)
