Glad to hear from you, Karrie....I remember some years going back to school in Sept. & having the tomato crop ripen then....had to work, can, freeze, etc. This year I've picked about 5 or 6 tomatoes, a few peppers......never planted eggplant, but I noticed my son had some great looking eggplant in his garden....may have to make a raid....
What are you eating from your garden right now?
welcome Karrie.... good to know those wall of waters work!!!
Nice haul Sherrie!
What's wall of waters?
Wall of waters are these small miniature green houses, sort of that you fill with water, that you put over individual small plants. http://www.wall-o-water.com/ If you look around enough you can find red ones, which are the best.
The one's I have are 7 years old now - I got 3 for $10.00. A couple of them have tiny leaks now, but nothing major. Well worth the investment.
here you go! http://growerssolution.com/page/GS/PROD/wallo-Red RED ones!
Normally, where I live, you don't put plants like tomatoes into the ground until about Mother's Day. But with these, I can put them in the ground in early April! WOW! The sun warms them, and they also slowly water the plant.
very nice!!
neat
What are we eating from the garden right now?
...summer squash, cukes, onions, green beans (greencrop), wax beans (cherokee), Sungold cherry tomatoes, 'Jolly Elf' grape tomatoes, 'Ultra Sweet' slicer tomatoes, bell peppers (lady bell), and the first few jalapeno.
I planted a winter squash this year called Goldetti.....eeek...they're getting huge....I'll never be able to eat them!
Patty Pan squash thanks to Celeste who found the seeds when I couldn't.
got a big sink full of tomatoes :-) It took me a long time to planting a garden and working the soil. When I started I had nothing but rocks. a 4 by 8 maybe. I worked and worked my soil. God help me and you great people, remember when? And then I got the greenhouse. Not sentimental. But I care for you all.
Good night.
*sock to the shoulder* Me too.
we care about you too!!!
Yes, we do!!!
Nothing from my garden, except a couple tomatoes. Going away for a month and critters (my fault) eating the beans doesn't help matters. We do have a volunteer melon in the compost coming along.
We are certainly your friends, Sherrie...glad that your garden is producing so well! Jan, the melon sounds nice!
Heehee, I am thinking I should just let the volunteers come in cuz, what I plan doesn't do well.
wish there was a "like" button like there is on Facebook, for some of the great comments and pictures!
Agreed!!!! LIKE
LIKE!!
Beauties! I'm not a fan of cantaloupe, but I love watermelon.....
have not got them to grow yet either. more squash and cukes. finally the bush beans are coming back from the deer eating the plants while we were on vaca - t's and eggplant are really starting to grow - hoping for a late crop.

oh my! lol
LOL
Veggies grow into funny shapes, for sure! My green beans are producing again, squash & cukes have tapered off, tomatoes are ripening every day....gave some to my art teacher today....
and what kind of fertilizer do you use?
I picked at least five pounds of grapes today. Too bad I decided to plant a white, wine grape instead of an eating grape. What will I do with them all?
Start stomping
:) please clean your feet first and don't forget between the toes!
Bill, I use lime & composted cow manure when the garden is tilled....when the plants are up & growing, I sprinkle on Shake & Feed....Memory, white wine vinegar?
I was thinking about trying to make vinegar. Got to figure it out today. I can freeze them to give me more time.
Good idea....I made more dill pickles today....
Pixie, what do you do with all that chard???
LAS
yum!!!
Do what Patti does....slow roast them, then you can freeze them.....
