I'm at my son's making homeade pasta fagioli for supper when he gets home from work. I thought I'd give him a break because he always makes dinner on Tuesdays when we come.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

I am sure he will appreciate it greatly.

Thank you. We will have fun. Nice group. Varied ages.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

sounds good

Made a paprika chicken stew by Rachael Ray...it's def a keeper DELISH!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Great attitude, Jan, and it sounds good to me!

Jen, that does sound good!

We had to eat and run at Mike's because Hank's golf got rained out and he wanted to drive home in daylight. We just barely made it. Mike has a lot of leftovers and that was fine with him :)

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Here's the recipe if anyone want to try it, I didn't do the peirogies with it though but mashed potatoes(put the stew right on top...YUMMY)

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

oh yeah and I cut down the tomatoes to about 1/4 of a cup and added more chicken broth I didn't want it too tomatoey

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Looks good, Jen. I'll have to try it, s o o n!!

Thomaston, CT

Chicken stew looks good, but I would also like it with less tomatoes....not a big fan of tomato sauce....Louise, you are a good Mom helping out your son! Sorry Hank's game was a washout!

Lasagna rolls, took a pan to Davids last night too.

Thomaston, CT

I'm making lasagna for Mother's Day....about a dozen folks will gather here.....

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

YUMMM, lasagna rocks!!!

Was asked to bring a breakfast casserole to a Mother's Day breakfast at church. Gotta go through recipes.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

One of my fav breakfast casseroles is to layer grits, crumbled sausage, scrambled eggs then sprinkle with cheese.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

lazy again.. turkey sandwich on garlic bread

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Heating the stuffed artichokes my mom brought - yum!! Salad too.

Amherst, NY(Zone 6a)

After signing final documents for selling my dad's mobile home and handing over the keys (dad has Alzheimer's and is in an assisted living facility now), we went out to lunch at a restaurant in the Southern Tier of WNY called "Aunt Millie's". The food is very good, but they are famous for their pastries. We brought home Napoleans that were about a foot around, cream puffs with chocolate topping that were just as big, and 'brownie towers' that were about 6 inches square - two brownies with a peanut butter cream filling and fudge frosting. These deserts should last us at least 5 days. ☺

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Oh man I haven't had lasagna in ages!
Made another Rachael Ray recipe, sirloin steak in a light gravy over orzo , peas and salad with homemade dressing

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I love pasta & peas

Westbrook, CT(Zone 6a)

Roast beef with baked potato and mutter paneer. (I cheated and used an Indian box mix for the m.p.)

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

what in the world is mutter paneer?

Thomaston, CT

Victor, I will kill for stuffed artichokes! Debi, that breakfast casserole sounds yummy....Dave, sorry about your Dad, but hopefully he will get excellent care.....my DH loved Napoleons....anything with sugar!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Thanks for the recipe, Jen. I agree with you and Marilyn on the tomatoes.

Debi, that breakfast casserole does spund good, even for the only Southerner in the world that doesn't care for grits. LOL. If I'm going to eat carbs, they have to be really worth it. :). But buried in that casserole, I'd be ok with them.

Dave, those sound sinfully wonderful, along with Victor's Mom's stuffed artichokes. What was the stuffing, Victor? I love artichokes. .....and Lasagna, which is unlucky for me with my carb sensitivity.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I really never cared for grits until I ate them mixed in this casserole.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Bread crumbs with olive oil and seasoning. Yummy, but lots of work.

Nothing, at my wits end and knocking my head. Come growing season will be a different story. I cant belive the prices going up.

Tedee off.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Love grits with syrup(wonder if I can have them anymore since the gluten intolerance)
picked up pizza on the way home from soccer practice

Thomaston, CT

My Dad loved grits.....I think that's why he went to FL every winter! Made Swedish meatballs, noodles, & asparagus tonight.....

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

My DDIL makes awesome cheesy grits!!

Chicken marinated in balsamic vinegar, sautéed, added fire roasted tomatoes, black beans, asparagus, and orzo.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

both dinners sound great!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

grits & cheese... girts & butter... they are all good!!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Yesterday I had to go to my Aunts funeral, my Uncle's side of the family is Lebanese ...we had kibbi, grape leaves, and a few other dishes that I have no idea what they are called. Ever since I was a kid my Uncle Dan's sisters have been trying to fatten me up so they shove the lovely little homemade petit fours and pastries at me. Yesterday was no different. ^_^

Chocolate cake with toasted coconut
baklava
mini eclairs
whoopie pies
date bars
raspberry bars
cheese cakes
carrot cake
pecan tarts
and many more that I couldn't possibly try!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

oh wow Randy would have been in heaven

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Brian was ^_^

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

I am just reading that list.

DGD will be here for dinner so, nothing with egg or nuts.

Thomaston, CT

Just reading that list put on a few pounds!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

oh man, gluten overload!!!

Trying to plan community time for church tomorrow, since Mother's Day is Sunday, want to make it a little special

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'm assuming the date bar would come before the whoopie pie?? ;)

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)
